What a lovely girl. I highly recommend maranda. Leo my dog loved her and she looked after him so well. He actually looked fitter and healthier when I got back. She also kept house so clean and even reorganised my messy kitchen cupboards. I would highly recommend her and hopefully she will look after Leo again.

I had a lovely sit with Miso 🐾 She is an adorable cat that will make you giggle by throwing herself on the floor in very weird positions! She likes to be stroked and brushed and will come and find you when she is bored.
Simon is a great host and made me feel very comfortable. His house is stunning! Out of an Elle decoration magazine.
Thank you very much Simon & Miso for this lovely stay :)

Anna
We had a wonderful two weeks staying in Anna and Arthur's lovely home. We fell in love with their dogs (Sennah and Mattie) and are missing them so much now we have left. There is an assortment of birds to feed and care for, but that is very easy to do. The house has a wonderful garden and is teaming with wildlife ranging from Hares to a Peacock. We enjoyed our stay there very much, Anna and Arthur were really lovely at all times and were fascinating people to talk to.
Thank you very much for having us :)

I had an excellent time at Heather’s house watching Nellie. Heather’s home, Nellie and the community of Portobello are exactly as described. Nellie was a lovely sweet dog to hang out with and Heather left detailed instructions that covered every potential question or pitfall. Nellie is well trained and and proved to be a fantastic companion on walks as well as bus trips. The location is quickly accessible to a bus that will drop you off 22 minutes later next to Waverley. So I had access to all that Edinburgh had to offer. The community of Portobello is very nice with loads of stores and restaurants. Plus, it’s right on the beach. There are plenty of interesting walks, parks and distractions to enjoy with Nellie.

Thank you Heather and Nellie for hosting me!

Shirey
I really enjoyed my stay with these two beautiful, affectionate critters. Roxy is quiet, loves to snuggle, and was well-behaved on our 30-minute daily walks around the neighborhood. Mila has young kitty energy and I had a lot of fun playing with her. She also loves to cuddle, and would happily relax in her basket next to me while I read or watched TV.

I didn’t get to meet Shirey but we had a nice video chat ahead of time, she gave me good written instructions and she was easy to get in touch with. Her house is attractive, tidy, well-equipped and well-organized. The guest room is very comfortable and I appreciated the closet and drawer space. There’s comfortable seating in the lovely, fully fenced back garden as well as in the front garden. And the house is a 15-minute walk or 3-minute drive to one of the many stunning beaches along this section of California’s coast. I highly recommend this sit!

Started badly by the wrong dates being confirmed by Anna and not noticed by her until I had to ask her a third time what time on the last day she would be home. Turned out she only wanted me until the day before that, which wouldn't have come to light until I was there if I hadn't pressed her for a rough return eta. We all make mistakes, and Anna eventually sorted it out with THS support and resent the correct dates, but from her screenshots of their conversations and our own message history, it was clear that Anna does not take the time to read messages carefully. She blamed THS for being 'broken and clunky' which was plainly not the case, but did admit she was busy with work and wasn't paying attention. I accepted this and told her I understood, but sadly her attitude continued with not feeling it necessary to write a welcome guide, although I mentioned that it would protect her as much as the sitter. She instead sent her airbnb link which simply mentions local attractions. I had to message her for her address and had no emergency contact numbers or procedures provided, as she sent a voice note just as I was leaving g for the 3hour journey, that she would only have 20 mins to show me everything. To be fair, Anna was friendly and apologetic when she turned up and admitted she was highly disorganised. That's fine, but there are solutions. Like hiring a cleaner. The sheets were stained, with dog hair on and looked slept in and grubby. The floors were sticky, under the toilet seat brown with urine and the kitchen table sticky. The location is fab, but the outdoor seating terrace had puddles of dog pee and stank. I had to clean the bathroom and kitchen before I used them, but couldn't even swill the outdoor area as there was no bucket, washing up bowl, or broom. This area is a main feature of the listing and was foul. There was also a tank of stagnant green water which I was horrified to glimpse a fish in there just before I left on the third day. I had no idea there was a living thing in there and had been actively trying to ignore it. have reported it as neglect. Chase the dog was sweet and well behaved in the house. Outside, he immediately lunged at a moped, pulling me into the road. Five minutes later he lunged at a cyclist. On the second day he lunged at another moped, causing it to swerve. This is not in his bio. He goes berserk at the sight of cat or bird when on leash, yanking you nearly off your feet. Anna told me to let him off leash once in Bushy Park (his regular walk) but there were signs on the gate abd everywhere inside that all dogs must remain on a lead from May til July due to deer birthing season. Keeping him on leash was super stressful for us both, as all he wanted to do was leap forward or into the long grass, pulling you off balance, and got no joy from simply walking and sniffing, obviously because not used to the leash. I therefore switched to walking him round the island 3 or 4 times a day and playing with him back home. I hope the above explains the poor rating - the only thing going for this sit, to me, was its location, but even that could not be enjoyed due to the stench and danger stepping in pools of dog urine. I feel very sad about the fish and generally demoralised about the lack of attention and priority Anna gave the whole sit. There was no toilet roll in the house, one soap to be shared beyween kitchen and bathroom, no towels and no tes towel. Not left out, not anywhere I searched.

What an absolute treat this sit was!
Lisa has created the most beautiful sanctuary in Joshua Tree. You can tell she has poured so much love into this home. From the decor, to the pool, to the secluded location, this home is truly an oasis!

And then the main event - Princess Leia! I was greeted when I arrived with the absolute warmest welcome from her, that only continued throughout my stay! Leia is such a sweet, well behaved dog, who just LOVES to love!
She had me laughing with her cute little noises and playing. I already miss her!

Lisa was so kind, accommodating, and excellent with communication. She left great instructions and was so welcoming and inviting.

I highly recommend this sit if you ever have the opportunity. I hope to be back!
