Glen's Dog Inn has been caring for my dog Shadow for 5 years now. Four of those years I traveled extensively for work, and this was the perfect place for my energetic, and sometimes challenging Border collie/Shepard mix. She gets to play in the big dog pack and be a real dog there! Glen has so much experience with training and caring for dogs and has given me great advice over the years when it comes to training, and diet. Armando is one of Shadow's favorite people. She can sometimes be untrusting with men, but he became her BFF right away. When I leave Shadow at Glen's, I trust that she is being well cared for and having a great time. The pricing is also probably the most reasonable out of all of the dog boarding places in L.A.
We have been boarding our dogs at Glen’s since 2020 and never want to go anywhere else! Glen and Armando are the best and show so much care for Honey (Labrador) and Beef (German shepherd). Our dogs are both super high energy and we appreciate how much time they get to play outside when they’re with Glen. If you board with them, your dogs will be in very good hands!
We’ve been boarding Ally with Glen for over 6 years. A good sign that she enjoys her stays is that she leaps up the entry stairs when we arrive. Happy dog in / happy dog out. Armando and Glen are very attentive and I’m so grateful to have found them.
My dog Pancho is so happy here. He is a rescue that required a lot of training around anxiety. We tried multiple places on the westside, near to where I live, but he would not do well in big crowded places. Glen and Armando were amazing, we started with a few hours of daycare, and now this place is my go-to when I travel. Pancho loves it here, and even made a bunch of new friends. And I have peace of mind knowing that he is in the best hands.
First time boarding my dog who is sometimes uncertain when left with strangers. He seemed to have enjoyed his stay a bit too much since he didn’t seem as thrilled to see me as I had hoped he would. I was sent pictures with updates each day and it was clear to me that my dog was very content at the Inn. Will definitely board with Glen again
I've been leaving my dog with Glen for the last 2-3 years, as it is very convenient when traveling (close to LAX), and the hours of operation are very accommodating. They are very flexible and from a cost perspective, I don't know if they can beat. My dog is always excited to go, and I have peace of mind when I go on trips
I've been boarding my dog at Glen's for years and he gets so excited to go there every time. I always know he's in good hands with Glen and Armando. They are the best! Couldn't recommend enough.
Glen and Armando are wonderful. My dogs enjoy the inn, and I don’t have to worry about them while I’m away. Thank you for always taking good care of my dogs! Edit: I just saw a negative review about someone’s dogs being hungry and dirty after picking them up. I’m baffled by what some expect from dog boarding. Dogs are hungry and dirty? Yes, please! Of course they’re hungry and dirty from playing outside, burning a ton of calories and energy. I love Glen’s Dog Inn just for that reason. Better than being stuck in a kennel or indoors all day.
We have been boarding our dod with Glen and Armando for years and have never once had an issue, despite our dog needing some extra attention. She loves going there, hates coming home. They are super easy to work with and conveniently located. Highly recommend!
Our dog LOVES Glen’s. When I tell him that he’s going to Glen’s he jumps around in circles and herds me out the door. I think he would drive the car if he had his way because he whines like we are going to his favorite park and basically pulls me through the gates to get inside. I even get a little jealous that he’s so happy leaving us, but he’s also happy to see us when we come back to get him, so I know it’s a good sign. He’s a high-energy rescue, so it’s amazing to see how happy and comfortable he is at Glen’s. The team there knows how to handle him, and I can tell that he plays hard when he’s there. Not only is he pooped his first 24 hours back home, but when we get to the park he seems very accustomed to having all humans at his beck and call to throw balls and play with him. Not only does our dog have a great time at Glen’s, we appreciate that Glen has been there for us to take care of him through holidays and big events and we so appreciate his and his team’s communication and flexibility.
Rue’s Kennels arranged everything smoothly in transporting my dog all the way from the Philippines. Even with the new CDC guidelines and requirements, they were very helpful arranging from papers works to picking up my dog in LAX and even …
Very accommodating and updates you every time regarding your dog’s status (airport arrival and daiky status). I really appreciate everything they did to my dog. My dog flew from Philippines to USA. 😊 …
My dog was imported from China and stayed at Rue's to get the CDC required revaccination. they took great care of my dog. They were extremely helpful and gave assistance with finding a cage and filling out paperwork for the rest of my trip home. They were very busy though, and it was a little hard to keep in contact before arriving/picking up my dog. However, I would definitely recommend Rue's Kennel!
All is well that ends well I guess. If I had submitted a review before the end of my experience it would have been a ⭐ review. A huge amount of trust is put in the company you choose to care for your pet and reliance to get them safely through customs. I followed all of their protocols to the letter, however they never could be reached. Voicemail box full... Very unresponsive which is nerve-wracking when you are transporting a pet from out of the country. Not only that, but when I came to pick up the woman, I assumed the owner... was rude and short with me. Once I finally was admitted onto the property to pick up, I could tell the woman was trying to do too much at once. I don't know if they were short handed or what, but she had her ear piece in the entire time and I could never tell if she was talking to me or the person on the phone. I sympathize being overwhelmed and trying to wear so many hats but obviously it's a recipe for disaster and not okay, especially when paying $1,400 for airport pick up, one night stay and vaccination. Communication with the client to keep them in the loop as to any issue with customs, pick up and transitions to the facility or just to put their mind at ease goes such a long way. They actually called me 2 hrs after I had picked up my dog to say I could come pick her up (I already had her down the road 2hrs away). I will say by the time I was helped at the kennel facility all I did was show my paperwork, I paid and was on my way.
I had a great experience with Rue’s. They picked up the my dog from LAX and he stay with them while he waited to go through CDC’s health check before being transported a few days later from LAX to PDX, which Rue’s arranged. Jill was in regular communication with me and also shared photos of my dog during his stay at Rue’s. I felt my dog was in very goods!
With a month in planning the owner canceled the pickup just before the arrival for an incoming international dog arriving from Seoul Korea leaving us in a major situation having to find someone to receive our dog so he was not stranded at the airport. We are located out of state and depended on Rue’s Kennels to insure our dog got from the airport to a safe boarding for pick up next day. Serious failure from them. The whole process was poor communication and slow or no response to communications.
Sorry to be the buzzkill, but when a business fails on its commitment and doesn't own the resolution, forcing the customer to scramble to make alternate arrangements, that's the consequence. Short version: Owner of Rue's Kennels at LAX was committed to picking up inbound rescue dog at LAX but canceled on us hours before his arrival, and there was zero effort made to get our needs accommodated. We had to scramble to get someone (me) to the airport to receive the dog and properly care for him. Detailed version: Owner of Rue's Kennels sent this message 11 hours before dog's scheduled arrival at LAX: "Unfortunately, I had an accident yesterday and injured my hand. I’m honestly not able to pick up. Please give me a call this morning so we can try to find a volunteer. This will be also close to 10 pm this evening and I also don’t have any staff to assist. Thank you, Jill" I live in Sacramento (500 miles from LAX) and had planned to pick up the dog from Rue's Kennels the following day. Instead, I had to abruptly cancel my entire day and drive to LAX almost immediately. While I can certainly empathize with being sidelined due to an accident, it was Jill's duty and responsibility to recruit someone to meet this obligation. Friends, family, even every competitor in town should have been contacted. Utter FAIL. I'm sure the kennels and staff are lovely, but I wouldn't know because I never saw them, because Jill did not fulfill her commitment to bring the dog there as our organization had contracted them to do. Had I not dropped everything and rushed to LAX from Northern California, this poor dog would have been in a crate stranded in the International terminal after being crated for 15 hours. I shudder to think what would have happened to him. Bear this in mind as you consider who will care for your pets. Maybe their system functions fine when life doesn't present them any challenges, but you'll be wise not to count on them when the unexpected happens. We've recently relocated to San Jose with our 68 pound dog Enzo. After a 15 hour flight, Johnathan from Rue's Kennel met us at the airport, was supportive, informative and friendly, easing the dog's and our own stress in this complex and sensitive process. At the kennel, Enzo was well taken care of, and Rue's team quickly processed the admin aspect. We've arrived on Friday and were an inch near leaving the dog for the entire weekend, but Jill and the team have managed to work miracles with the CDC and eventually we were out and free as early as 3PM! Their professionalism, pure love of animals and super positive and caring attitude are all beyond words. Thanks guys! from Tanya, myself and of course, Enzo.
The team at Rue’s Kennel are amazing. We recently migrated from Philippines to San Diego, CA. They took care of Solana for 2 days. Give her the love she deserves after a looong stressful flight! 🥹 Special thanks to Patty for her patience with me in answering all of my concerns in email! 😅 Also thanks to Jonathan for being so accomodating. He picked up Solana at the airport and give us an update from time to time ❤️ Would highly recommend to friends and family! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Rues Kennels was the biggest blessing to my family and I. We had previously imported a dog from another country and had a very rough experience, but this time we sent our second dog to America via Rues Kennels and couldn't have been a better experience. Jill and her team communicated with me throughout the entire process, making sure I knew exactly how my pup was doing and how he was adjusting after his long flight and customs process. Jill truly loves animals and treats each dog that comes through her facility like her own, and the facility feels like a home. I would use Rues Kennels again in a heartbeat.
I've been going here for years. Olga loves my pup like her own. She's always excited to see him and he is always exhausted when he comes home. It's his home away from home with his special friends. Highly recommend and very reasonable in pricing.
We found our hidden gem with Olga. She is the best in keeping our Crissy (Sweet lady) her nic kname for our furbaby safe and happy during her stays. She is getting the full VIP treatment with a shampoo and cut this weekend. We highly recommend 5 Star Doggie Inn. It truly is 5 star.
I am so happy to have found Olga and 5 Star Doggy Inn. Clean, always welcoming, wonderful for daycare as well as overnight boarding. I never worry when I have to leave my pup with Olga. I love that she regularly posts videos of her happy charges running and romping together.
We could not recommend this place enough. Olga is one of the most patient and kindest boarders we have found. And that comes from owners of a teacup chihuahua with a separation anxiety problem. Anytime he goes to stay he has always enjoyed his time and comes back with new friends. His private room with his own things make him feel more secure and safe. We’ll continue to board him here! Thank you, Olga! Thank you 5 Star Doggy Inn!
We love taking our two American Eskimo dogs here. It's their home away from home and they love it. We have been coming to 5 star doggy inn since 2019 and have always had great service from them. Olga is so sweet and accommodating. Love getting them bathed here too so they are fresh and fluffy when we pick them up.
We're very happy with the care and attention our dog Scout receives at the Doggy Inn. They have indoor and outdoor play areas, and for overnights the dogs stay in private rooms (think large dressing room size) rather than in crates, which feels much more homey. The owner and staff are caring and accommodating, and our dog always seems happy for play time at Olga's. The prices are also reasonable. Love that they share pics and video on Facebook so you can check in on your pet while away! A+++
Olga and her team are great. We have a 16 year old dog and Olga takes care to make sure he gets his meds and is well taken care of.
Olga is such a wonderful Lady. I always felt comfortable leaving my dogs there. I know they are always in good hands.
Olga is one amazing human being. They way she cares for the dogs, always remembers their names, and takes special care, letting us leave special toys or medicine is simply the best.
Our Yorkie has spent a number of "spa" days at 5 Star and loves it. Olga and her crew are great!
exceptional dog care. extremely reasonable pricing. we've used their service's for more than 3 years now, with no consideration od changing. the added convenience of location next to airport is just an added plus. We drop our dog off on the way out of town, and pick her up on our way back in.
Ponch has been grooming my dogs for over 14 years, always does a great Job!!!
Upon picking up my poodle Lola 🐩 she had 3 nails bleeding and her front paw is so tender she is having problems walking... we will never use this groomer again 😡 …
