Gail
Gail and David live a traveling life in Europe and Normandy. They are a bright, talented and social-able couple, who love their pets. Gail was quick to communicate early in the application process, in the interim period to our sit and during it. They were very welcoming when we arrived, showed us how to care for their home and Gail took me on a route for Laszlo’s walk in the park and explained the history of the area. David shared books about the history of Mortain during the war which we found great to read.

Laszlo is a lovable and energetic dog, who gets excited when it’s time to go out for his walk and at mealtime. Gail and David have him trained and he listens to, and executes, basic commands, which we reinforced daily during our sit. He’s a creature of habit and Gail took us on a walk to demonstrate these, and provided a detailed welcome guide so we could understand them. He carries his green stick on walks, shows where he wants it thrown, waits, and fetches it. I varied his routine so he could work on his speed, strength and stamina during our sit. It’s a game to him, as a hunting dog, and he lies on his stick to play in my getting it. He likes other dogs and will play with them in the park. In addition to his twice daily park walks, he enjoy fetching the stick in his yard.

Poppy let us know when she wanted to eat or come inside. She has her favorite spots to sleep in the house, generally avoided Laszlo and decided when she wanted to sit on our lap.

Gail and David’s property is stunning; at the end of a quiet street, surrounded by many species of very tall trees, with a lovely yard and garden. Their kitchen is well fitted to cook, housing equipment to do most anything. A large farmer’s market is held 12 minutes away, each Wednesday, with local produce, meats and fish. There is a lot of history in Mortain, and the park includes boards describing events of WWII which occurred there, liberated the town and served as a strategic shift for the war. Their home is roomy and we particularly appreciated the quality bed linens, comfortable bed and updated bathroom. The outside terrace is a grand place to sit and view the tall trees and garden while sipping a beverage or having a meal. The house is a 10 minute walk to the village, with several boulangeries to acquire a fresh baguette or pastry. They have an extensive collection of books to read, so when not walking and playing with Laszlo, or exploring the area, one can be entertained or educated.

Our almost three week stay went by quickly and we miss Laszlo and Poppy. We recommend this sit for someone whom is active, and wants to learn more about Normandy and the war.

John & Alison are the sweetest, most welcoming, & most accommodating! They are warm & made me feel at home.

I'm grateful to have met them and have the opportunity to care for Sweet Lucille we had a blast and I would definitely sit again.
She is very chill, independent, loves her walks, meals/treats & sunbathing near the pool. She's the perfect pet!

The beautiful home is located central to everything that you need by car and they were generous to extend their kitchen which was equipped with all the essentials.

I would absolutely recommend this sit and hands down will return!!!
Thanks again for having me!!!

We had a great time in Basel! Geoff was an excellent host and we enjoyed getting to know him before he left. The flat is absolutely incredible and the three boys were excellent companions.

Loved caring for Bella, Rock, Cedric and the on occasion sighting and pet of Kitty ms..Itty Bitty. They are a nice well cared for bunch of characters and get along.!!Once you get used to the routine it’s easy and good exercise.

Kelly and Joe live in a beautiful home in a lovely neighborhood. Lots of interesting houses to see when you’re out cruising with Bella and Rock. Lake Geneva a fabulous nearby wonder..

Cedric loves hanging on your lap and so warm, he’s a fur ball of love. Rock is slow and easy going while Bella a bundle of happy energy..

I would recommend a visit here if you have a chance to sit for Kelly and Joe who are great people who obviously adore their fur babies.

We had a wonderful stay at Dickies home with Willow and Speaker, they are very easygoing and happy dogs.
Dickies home is in a beautiful location with lots of walks on the doorstep.
We had a zoom call with Dickie before our stay and he gave us his welcome guide with all we needed to know for an enjoyable sit.
I would highly recommend this sit and would love to return in the future.
