The Rectory is a wonderful home in a lovely area, would highly recommend. Flossie is super company and very easy. The rest of the menagerie are also straightforward once you get the hang of it. Thanks so much for the opportunity Peter and Sarah!

We met Nick & Claire when we arrived. They were very warm & friendly and made sure we knew everything to look after their dogs Bramble & Selkie and their cat Jaybug and had written up & printed out a comprehensive guide, so we felt very comfortable when they left a short while later to drive up to Northumberland for a week.

Their 17th century house is beautiful - a truly special place with the original stone floors, windows and fireplaces. And our rooms up on the guest floor at the top of the house were lovely.

Bramble, Selkie & Jaybug were an absolute pleasure to look after. Jaybug is what my son dubbed a “nano kitten”! He is only a year old and still very small and light - very sweet natured and very happy to be cuddled. He came and went as he wanted all day - all I needed to do was feed him and call him in each evening to shut him in for the night. He always came when called and happily submitted to being carried to his little bed in the boot room with the dogs every evening.

The dogs are so lovable and very funny. Letting them out of the boot room each morning was a comedy routine as they raced, nails clicking on the stone floors to get from the boot room at one end of the house to the kitchen/back door at the other end of the house. It never failed to make me laugh as we all rushed helter skelter to let them out for their morning wee. Once that was done we all then rushed clickety click again back to the boot room to give them breakfast! And I can honestly say I have never seen food eaten so quickly or so noisily before in my life - Selkie sounds like a speeded up Cookie Monster!!

After my son & I had breakfast each day we then took the dogs for their morning walk in the local wood/park just a minute from the house. Bramble walks without a lead and is very chilled and always comes when called - but most of the time just walks naturally to heel. Selkie was let off the lead once inside the gate into the wood and runs around a lot as she is much younger than Bramble - but always comes back when called. There were a few times when she ran off quite far and well out of eyeshot but she always came back and after a few walks I relaxed off my guard and let her do her thing, knowing she would come back whenever I called her. We did an hour every morning. And then an hour in the afternoon before their supper at 4.30.

In between walks and mealtimes the dogs are very chilled. Bramble stays by choice mostly on her bed in the boot room but Selkie spent half her time with us on her bed in the lovely big kitchen/family room or in the little snug when we watched tv. They both go to bed anytime around 10 and are happy to be shut in the boot room with Jaybug for the night. We really loved all 3 of them and were sad to leave them and would most definitely love to look after them all again whenever Nick & Claire need a sitter again.

I highly recommend this sit. Nick & Claire are great and communication with them was very easy snd professional; Bramble, Selkie & Jaybug are adorable snd so easy to look after, and the house is beautiful and very comfortable and in a lovely and very friendly quintessential English village.

This was one of my favorite sits ever. It's very rural, but I love that (sometimes). With the use of the included car, it was no trouble to get to Catadau for groceries or to Valencia by car/metro. The house has a lot of character and is quite comfortable. But the best part was the cats. There are a lot of them, but they all get on well and are actually pretty easy to care for. With varied personalities, I got quite chummy with some and a few just did their thing and showed up to eat once in a while. Cila is a great communicator and even picked me up late at the airport upon my arrival. If you love mountains and cats, I recommend this sit.
