Dawna and Daniel cared for our home and two kitties for three weeks and did a great job. They even stopped back by on their final day to offer more wet food and snuggles in the evening, when our return flight was delayed until the next morning. We specifically wanted someone who would be working at home, or present a good deal of the time, to let our kids outside some, and have the company they're used to, since we both work from home. With the long stay, Daniel was also willing to mow our small lawn a couple of times, which was a great help to us, so we didn't have to make additional arrangements with another person. There were a couple of small snafu's: -At one point they realized they were overfeeding wet food. I said our kitties might prefer that their parents didn't come home. ;) - They tossed our kitty's favorite cardboard box that was in the kitchen. Which probably looked like recycling waiting to go out. They did ask how often we'd like to receive updates, and sent them, plus pictures, especially in the early days, when we were most anxious about leaving them. Our kitties were happy and in perfect health when we returned.
Donna was very attentive to details and and my specific instructions. I appreciated that as I had a long list of instructions :) She was super nice in person and most importantly really liked my dogs Coming back home to a tidy apartment and happy pups was so great!
We were so impressed with Melissa’s thoughtfulness and care for our kittys, Phoebe and Spice. She sent us daily photos and immediately contacted us when she had a question…something we really appreciated. She is friendly, an excellent communicator and neat. We would happily have her back here without question.
This was a wonderful sit because we were able to look after a variety of fantastic animals in a lovely place. The dogs, Molly and Twig, were full of energy and were a pleasure to take out on walks or play with in the garden. Olive the cat had a lovely temperament, the chickens provided us with a good supply of eggs and the cows each had their own characters. They all seemed to settle to us as part of their normal routines which made our sit so much easier. The house was warm and spacious and had all that anyone would need for a comfortable stay. The village is well provided for with a village shop/post office and two excellent, friendly, pubs both serving good beers and food. The surrounding countryside offers lots of walks from the house of varying length and over different ground which is useful if there is a change in the weather. Further afield there are two supermarkets in nearby Petersfield, as well as the normal range of high street shops. Travelling around the area is easy as the M3, M27 and A3 are all nearby. A very delightful sit and we would be very happy to be asked to return.
