Luci did a great job taking care of all my pets while I was away for 8 days. They were happy and stress free and was pleased they had such great company especially over the 4th of July holiday where my one dog can get pretty stressed. Luci did leave the kitchen a bit messy with some unwashed cooking utensils and appliances (baking sheet/air fryer) and found there was a missing plant that may have fallen down but is no longer in my home and was not communicated. I do leave detailed daily checklists in order to cover all the responsibilities that typically ensure smooth and easy care for 4 animals and an old house. However, there was also quite a bit of waste in the yard that should have been picked up daily and my mail had not been brought in. I very much appreciate Luci stepping in last minute to cover my household while I was away and I would have her back with more instructions and on shorter trips with additional clarity on expectations. She made sure my plants were watered and was communicative when having a friend over which I did not mind. She sent frequent updates and pictures of my pets and was overall tidy around the rest of the house and washed her sheets and towels. Overall I feel Luci was very respectful and helpful just not quite the 5 star experience I’ve had with other sitters.

Leonidas

The sit was actually done by Silvana, Leonidas' wife, who travelled from her home in Aruba to do the sit. We didn't meet Leonidas but he did come to stay for a few days. Silvana took great care of our elderly dog, Barney. She gave him his supplements and gave him gentle walks, as agreed - and lots of affection. Silvana also communicated well, sending regular news, photos and videos of Barney without us having to ask her for news, which was a plus. Barney was happy and in great shape on our return.

Leah

house was clean, Luna was loved. Leah was very communicative.

Katrina

As our very first House Sitter, we are very pleased with Katrina's care for our Kobi, and the whole experience with Zeewoi and the process. Katrina sent regular updates of how Kobi was doing, along with pics of their walks and hikes, as Katrina and Kobi explored our "neck of the woods". We came home to a clean and neat house, and a very happy dog, who seemed to miss Katrina, which is a good sign of the care he got. If the opportunity arose we would definitely have Katrina sit for us again, and would recommend her as a sitter for anyone who is looking.

Susana

This was Susana's first sit for me and Deegan. Deegan seemed to get very comfortable with her right away. She kept in touch with me and sent some pics. The house was spotless and all linens washed and bed madeup. She lives close by and I hope she will sit again for Deegan.

Rose and mark were fantastic. Very professional and caring sitters. I never felt that I needed to worry about anything. They left my home in the condition as if they had never been there. I, absolutely couldn't have been more impressed and pleased.

Jessica and Hayden were the perfect substitute pet parents for us. They loved the dogs, and were so friendly, kind and thoughtful. Scully and Pacer had the best time. They were great communicators and kept our home spotless. Highly recommend for your next pet or house sit. They are welcome here anytime!

This was the second time James and his friend Hiral took care of my 2 dogs, and once again, it was a very positive experience. My pups are very content because they are well taken care of. James went over and above with caring for one of my dogs, who developed an ear infection and had to go to the vet, with 2 follow-up visits. With each visit, we were in contact. James and Hiral had to do ear washes and apply medication, which they did consistently. My dogs were in excellent hands, and I did not worry at all. The house looked great, and it was a joy to come home and find everything clean. I highly recommend James and Hiral, 100% trustworthy and reliable!

Myse and Albie are a wonderful couple from Brazil, who will take special care of your pet and your home. I highly recommend them as zeewoi. What struck me the most about both Myse and Albie are their enthusiasm, kindness, intelligence, and reliability. They enthusiastically embraced our city, Buffalo, NY, and made the most out of their stay here -- touring area sites, checking out authentic Buffalo food, and exploring the neighborhood. It made us happy that they were really enjoying themselves. They both are excellent communicators, even though English is not their first language. They answered texts and phone calls in a timely fashion and were careful to make sure they understood all the house and kitty details. We got regular, entertaining videos filmed from our cat's perspective, which were adorable. Our elderly cat seemed very happy and relaxed in the photos and videos, and she was well-adjusted when we got back from our 4-week holiday. We felt confident and secure that our cat and home were in good hands. While living in our home for several weeks, Myse and Albie did an amazing job to staying tidy, keeping the house clean, and taking care of the small flower garden while we were gone. And they did an excellent job of following my instructions on what to do to prepare the house for our arrival back home. They went above and beyond what I asked them to do, including adding decorative touches (like a special way to fold the towels) that I will now incorporate myself. The house looked like it had been professionally cleaned. They even left a special treat for us -- a homemade Brazilian stew that we love. I highly recommend Myse and Albie as zeewoi. They are a delightful couple, who will give excellent care to your home and your pets. I hope that they will be return housesitters if our calendars match up again.

Cheryl & John were fantastic Chopper sitters and I am very grateful they were here for the 2 weeks while I was on holiday. The communication from the very first meeting on WhatsApp to the day they left was excellent. They kept me regularly updated with messages and photos while I was away and responded promptly to any questions I had, about a delivery I was expecting for example. They seemed to bond with Chopper straight away and in the note they left me they said Chopper warmed to them as he got used to them, it can take a few days sometimes. I got the feeling they enjoyed their time in Holmfirth and all it has to offer, despite the weather, it was very wet for their time here unfortunately. We had a few beers in town and a delicious burger at Lou & Joe’s on their first night before I left the next day and it was good to get to know them a little. I would certainly recommend them to anyone out there looking for friendly, reliable pet sitters and hope they can come back to look after Chopper at some point.

When we select a sitter, we read every review in addition to conducting some sort of video interview. We really rely upon the experiences of past hosts, so that’s why I believe it important to be honest in this review. I love giving out 5 star reviews and do quite frequently, but I also need to share any less-than-positive experiences as well for those hosts who rely upon reviews such as we do. As such, I’m a bit ambivalent about writing this review of Katie, as there were some really good things Katie did while here. She is a lovely, energetic woman who responded immediately to the concerns I voiced to her during the time she watched our pets; however, the “negatives” we experienced speak to the heart of the importance of having a dedicated pet sitter. For the most part, our home was left tidy and neat – which is no small feat as ours is a large house and I appreciate the care Katie took in ensuring we walked into a clean home. That said, Katie failed to notice my dogs had urinated in both of their dog beds and on the floor of our downstairs office, which we believed happened in the first part of the sit and resulted in the downstairs smelling of stale urine. Further, because she didn’t notice the urine, my pets, when downstairs, had to either sleep on the bare floor or in wet beds, neither of which is a satisfactory option. Also, my dogs don’t generally urinate in the house as they have access to a doggie door, and this seemed more a sign of their distress or discomfort. I believe this incident was part of a larger problem I experienced with Katie and that was in the manner in which she approached this sit. I advertised dates of July 6 – July 22. We generally ask our sitters to come in a day or two early as to walk them through the schedule for both our animals and our many plants, as well as to give them time to get to know the animals and experience a little of the town we live in. We also provide a very detailed introduction and welcome guide which outlines our expectations. Katie came in late in the day on the 7th, without personal transportation, which necessitated us picking her up and then my neighbor taking her to a rental cart company the next day because we left very early on the morning of the 8th. This abbreviated introductory time didn’t allow us to fully prepare Katie for the sit and allowed for some apparent “misunderstandings.” The “issue” for me was for the first five days of our 13-day trip, Katie was away from the house for up to 13 hours at a time – leaving our two, older rescue dogs, who have some separation anxiety - alone and with an extended time between meals. It was clear Katie was using this opportunity to visit many of the beautiful areas which surround where we live – hence using our home as more of an Airbnb to vacation – than a house sit dedicated to caring for our animals. Our dogs are fine with being alone for up to six hours but even that, for multiple days in a row, is, frankly, distressing to our animals and to us, as owners. To Katie’s credit, when I called and brought her daily, extended time away to her attention and reiterated my wishes the dogs not be left for more than 6 hours, she changed her schedule and while still gone every day, capped her time away at six hours. And, as I said, she is cheerful and responsive; hence, the ambivalence is positing my concerns with this sit. I think if Katie is provided with very clear expectations prior to the sit and understands exactly what is needed and expected, she will absolutely deliver. For whatever reason, from the start, this sit was rushed, there appeared to be too many misunderstandings, and it ended up being frustrating for us in ways other sits have not been.
