If you’d like to have a quintessential French living experience, complete with a flirty kitty, Jenny’s beautiful stone cottage is a MUST DO! We have been trying to coordinate a sit at Jenny’s for two years but were continually thwarted by Covid. Finally we were able to travel to France and the moment we walked into Jenny’s flower covered yard we knew it had been worth the effort. Her home, with its traditional roof, covered terrace, and storybook windows and doors is well supplied, superbly relaxing and touched with an authentic style worthy of a photo shoot. Jenny herself was immediately kind and welcomed us with a big hug, cool drinks and easy conversation while Emilie, her sweet, independent kitty, purred coquettishly as we got to know each other. Emilie appreciates gentle attention, a good rub, and a calm demeanor. Loud volumes and aggression are not her style—nor ours—so we blended really well right from the start. She has her own cat door so is free to roam at will as are sitters once Emilie is attended to. And Jenny is such a gracious host. As a gentle rain watered the many flowers and herb plants that surrounded us we all sipped wine and never tired of talking. It was way past bedtime before we knew it. Such fun! The cottage is a peaceful, quiet haven yet there are also loads of things to do nearby. If you like a good walk there is a marked, forested footpath right out the door. All amenities are only five kilometers away in Le Bugue, and Limeuil, one of France’s “beaux villages,” is just a quick hop across the road and down a country lane. We were on bicycles and were able to use them for both fun and transport as marked bike routes are abundant. Every moment spent at Jenny and Emilie’s cottage was cherished and this sit was, unquestionably, a highlight of our trip. If you’re lucky enough to be chosen as Emilie’s next caretakers, don’t miss out! We are already looking forward to making a return and staying for much longer. Thank you Sofia and Adam for a delightful stay in your stylish and charming apartment in Copenhagen. We enjoyed looking after Albie who we to be found sweet natured and shy but very companionable. We had not planned on a Danish Christmas and it was great fun to make last minute arrangements with you and we appreciated your laid back and welcoming approach. We were lucky enough to have a few hours snow which made the decorations around Copenhagen look very Christmassy and then we had plenty of sunny days to explore. Evenings were spent snuggled with Albie on the sofa! All in all a great experience - thank you.
