House-sitting for Tarka was an absolute pleasure. She is very sweet-natured and sociable with all other dogs and with people and her behaviour was impeccable from start to finish. Come rain or shine Tarka thoroughly enjoyed every minute of every walk and her enthusiasm was infectious. The nearby Hungerford Common is a wonderful resource offering many walking options from the doorstep. Jane and Bevil are great hosts and they welcomed us warmly into their lovely home. Communication throughout was excellent and we were provided with comprehensive information about caring for Tarka and Orchid House. Hungerford is a lovely little town, brimming with antique shops and with everything you need right on your doorstep. If you get the chance check out the Friday night Comedy Club! We have done quite a few great house-sits through TrustedHousesitters and this was one of the very best. We would be delighted to look after Tarka again.
Jeanne's communication with me was excellent. She was supportive and flexible in working out details around the care of her young dog and elderly cat over 13 days. The home she shares with her husband is thoroughly comfortable, organized, and beautiful. Her animals are obviously well loved and I appreciated being able to care for them, get to know them, and explore Yountville on my many walks with Skippy, her very well-behaved 2 year old lab mix. I had a hard time saying goodbye to both animals, and especially to Mittens, her smart, sweet, and somewhat sassy 18 year old cat . I would happily sit again if the timing were right.
I had a lovely two weeks with Callum and Wullie who are very docile and sweet natured and spent most of their time asleep on the sofas. Chris’s house is in a beautiful part of town and very easy to get around by public transport or bicycle. You will fall in love with these two boys and I would be delighted to see them again!
I had a great time looking after Trinity in sunny Bend. Trinity is such a sweet dog who is intelligent and well behaved (until she sees a squirrel 🤪). Lynn’s house is beautiful and it is situated in a safe, quiet neighbourhood with plenty to visit within walking distance. Additionally, Lynn is a brilliant host who provides plenty of information about Trinity, the house and the surrounding area! I highly recommend any opportunity to look after Trinity!
This was one of my all-time favourite sits. Cat is an amazing and generous human who made me feel so very welcome and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I'd need. Very responsive, and always there when I needed to reach her. Their home is lovely and just minutes away from amazing walking trails that I never tired of discovering and exploring each day. And as for Inca, she's just adorable. Such a chill, sweet-natured and lovable doggo. Excellent recall, very obedient. (She even obeys "drop the stick", which I have literally never had any dog comply with before 😂). Altogether a wonderful sit. Would definitely recommend sitting for Cat and hanging out with Inca if you get the chance 💕
If you’re lucky, you’ll get to enjoy a sit at Ron’s place! Not only is his home charming, clean and located on the incredible Bainbridge island, but Ron is extremely kind, generous and thoughtful as a host. His sweet cat, Wallee, is lovable and cute as well as a breeze to care for...especially if you brush him when you can...which he loves. We are so grateful to have had this opportunity to visit this breathtaking part of the country. Thank you Ron!
