Dog Sitters in Little Clacton

From our first chat to the end of Graham's stay, I knew that he would be a great sitter - and I was right! Graham is friendly and reliable, he and Poppy, my Jack Russell, bonded immediately and I was able to go away for the weekend secure in the knowledge that all would be well. Graham made sure he knew exactly what Poppy would need, and when I got home, she was snuggled up next to him, a good sign that she trusted him. I would highly recommend Graham to anyone looking for someone kind and reliable to look after their pet, and home. Thank you, Graham!

Glenda and Martin were amazing pet sitters for my 3 girls. Before the actual sitting started we made arrangements for Glenda and Martin to meet the dogs as the dogs are rather large and they can be a bit intimidating when met all together, but Glenda and Martin were so natural with them and obviously liked them from the start and our girls relaxed very quickly with them. Glenda and Martin stayed with us for roughly an hour getting to know how we handled the girls and how the girls responded to their instructions, and I think were very pleased that the girls were so good. We explained the differences in them and medication requirements etc. and Glenda and Martin took it all on board. We made a second date for Glenda and Martin to come back and take the girls for a walk as they are big and a sitter needs to know if they are easy enough to walk. The girls passed their test, they are not perfect but if you know of any problems and how to respond to them then that is most of the battle won. The day came for us to leave for our break and as usual Glenda and Martin arrived in time for us to feed the girls before we left as we needed to show them how the girls get fed, i.e. where they like to sit and they have to wait before they get the command to eat. All went well and off we went. During our time away (1 week) Glenda kept me informed with texts and videos and photos regarding the girls and they all seem to have got on very well, so well that I thought the girls would have their bags packed and want to live with Glenda and Martin. We would be very happy to have Glenda and Martin sit for our girls any time, they were clean and tidy and left the house as they found it. This was the first time we have used a sitter and found the proposition of leaving someone in our home a bit daunting, but have got to say that our sitters left us happy to leave our home and our precious girls in their care. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

I have had many many pet sitters over the last few years and unfortunately this is the first time I feel the need to write a less than 5 star review. Evin has lots of good reviews and when we met her everything was fine and I felt happy to trust our cats and apartment with her. My biggest disappointment was that 3 days before the end of the sit she messaged saying she was leaving the next day as she had some ‘unexpected news’ and hoped we could ‘work around’ it. They are not plants. I expect a level of commitment for what you agreed to when you are trusted to stay and care for someone’s pets. When we came back the apartment was not as clean as we left it (I really make an effort to make sure everything is really clean for house sitters.) The litter trays were also completely full (more than a couple of days worth). Our bin in the kitchen, which is rather new, had 2 deep dents in the top which Evin didn’t tell us about. There were also some odd things, like it seems like my shoes had been used, as the laces were tied up and pulled tight, and I don’t take my shoes off with the laces done up. And my wardrobe was left ajar, and it was closed when I left. I was really surprised by our negative experience as Evin has lots of positive reviews. She had been travelling for a year and ours was the last sit before she was going back to the US. I can only assume she didn’t have the same commitment to what both sides agree to and expect during a house sit anymore.

Fay has been amazing looking after our beloved Rocco and our home. We’ve been in contact every day during the sitting and she has been very helpful and responsive to Rocco’s needs. Absolutely recommend Fay as a sitter.

Ashley, Kelly and their girls have housesat for us a couple of times now and they are always amazing. They are such a lovely family who love the great outdoors. Our animals are always very happy with them - we trust them completely with our home and fur babies. We always return to a spotless house and beautiful gifts made by their girls. They are always welcome to housesit for us.

Deb and Gray were fantastic sitters and helpfully communicative from the start. They looked after our dogs extremely well and left our house immaculate. They are friendly, responsible, kind and reliable. Would heartily recommend them.

Joseph and his family were fabulous guests! Communication prior to the sit was excellent. We weren't able to meet but we did do a video call which was great, and all messages were answered quickly. I felt very confident that the dogs would be happy and that our home would be well looked after...and my confidence was well placed! The dogs had lovely longs walks and I was sent photos of them snuggling on the sofa. They were very well looked after. We came back to a spotless house with bedding washed and left out to dry. Marvellous! I have no hesitation in recommending Joseph and his family. I would happily have them stay again.

Louisa house sat our menagerie of two ponies, two rescue dogs, three cats and chickens for a long weekend. We returned to happy, relaxed animals and clean house. Thank you Louisa, we hope to see you again in the future.

Henry and Ilze were amazing! The pups were super happy and well looked after. They even helped us with some house emergencies while we were away!

What a wonderful first experience with Zeewoi. Hollie and Jake are a caring thoughtful couple and I would highly recommend them. They had a challenge with minding 2 refuge foster dogs and they over excelled! The dogs loved them and I arrived home to a calm pair. Thank you thank you thank you Hollie and Jake.

Gill and Robert were calm and caring and our dogs were obviously happy and settled with them. We would happily have them to sit again.

I would totally recommend Nicky and her young daughter Alyssa they looked after Evie so well and a golden retriever that is brushed most days looks so beautiful!! Not sure I can keep that up! We were away for two weeks and Nicky’s aunt came too who was very nice. They looked after the house which was lovely and tidy on our return. Watering vegetables and sorting out problems with padlocks on outbuildings were sorted out. Nothing is too much trouble and felt they had had a happy and successful stay.
