Absolutely loved these sweet little cats. They were so fun to play with and cuddle. Each has their own distinct personality and mannerisms. Twix, the master biscuit maker is very boisterous and chatty, always checking to see what I’m doing and offering his assistance. Onyx is a little more reserved until she belts out the occasional directive in the kitchen or quietly curls up in your lap. Claire and Thibault were so kind to make dinner the night before their departure and left me with a lovely bottle of Alsatian wine. We kept in touch during their trip in case I had any questions and I sent them some cute and funny videos of the cats. Everything you need or don’t need is extremely and dangerously close by, including an amazing patisserie! Thank you so much for having me look after Twix and Onyx! Xx
Grainne’s house was lovely and we absolutely loved Begley. He is such a sweet dog that loves to stay by your side and cuddle. Despite his name, he does not beg. 😂 The kitchen was well stocked with every appliance and gadget we could imagine. It’s a comfortable living space to hang out in all day if it’s rainy. And it’s right in town, very close to everything by foot. Short walk to train and bus station. They have bikes if you want to go farther. Great experience house sitting for this family.
Tani & Boonee live in beautiful Montgomery in a green, safe neighbourhood. Locals are friendly, and there is loads to see on foot. Tani has a welcoming house with a large yard where you will find butterflies, frogs and lizards. Boonee is a sweet boy with a lot of love to give; he is happy pottering around the house or playing ball in the yard. He is a large dog (having grown up from the little fluffball in the pics), can be quite rambunctious, and is a little nervous around young children; combined, this doesn't make for a child-friendly sit, particularly if the child is small. Boonee is excellent on a lead; he does not pull or run and ignores barks from other dogs. He will show you the route to walk himself (a lovely one at that). He is super gentle when you put on his harness. As we were unable to meet Tani in person due to finishing another sit, we would have loved to have had more communication through messages with her. Regardless, the sit worked out just fine, Boonee was a happy chappy (particularly with Rik, who he bonded very nicely with) and, overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in East Texas.
Kelsey’s house was a lovely treat to stay at during the sit. Magi and Blu are the sweetest, best natured cats. Magi in particular is a real cuddle buddy. The house was adorable, and just a couple of blocks away from the Delmar loop where there are lots of restaurants, shops, and entertainment to keep you busy. A few more blocks beyond that and you’re in Forest Park with the zoo and the great museums. It’s really an ideal location. Kelsey‘s house had every amenity you could need or want and was very nicely decorated, safe and secure. Mark and I highly recommend this sit, and would love to come back another time.
