Kirklington is a lovely place to stay for peace and quiet. The local people are pretty friendly. Anna and Toby were warm and welcoming as was their lovely home. Tinker and Belle were an absolute delight. So easy to look after. I have never known such well behaved dogs, and yet incredibly affectionate. Be prepared to do a lot of walking, I averaged around 15000 steps a day walking these two. So you need to enjoy walking. I would be happy to sit for them again. ?
Lisa’s frenchies are such sweeties! And the location is wonderful for long walks and close to everything!
Staying with Ozzy at Gemma’s house was absolutely lovely. From beginning to end Gemma was excellent with communication and we worked it out so that I was able to arrive before they left and got a full run down of the house and Ozzy. Ozzy is so sweet, and love pets and attention. He was always very excited on his walks and wants to sniff everything and moves quick. Even though he is still a puppy, he minded quite well and did really well sleeping through the night. Twickenham is an absolutely adorable little area! My mom joined me in the last half of the sit and we both fell in love with the little town. Lots of easily walkable and bus-able areas and good food. Gemma and her husband did everything to make our stay seamless and were so accommodating. I would come back and look after Ozzy again in a minute!
I'd highly recommend Jo's house sit to any sitters out there and I'll be happy to go back anytime. Jo left her flat clean and ready for my stay. Communicating with her was really easy and the information in the guide was clear. Whiskey is a people's cat. He loves company, cuddles and play. Willow is an independent lady who may need more time to get use to you and likes her own space, but she is sweet and playful once she relaxes. The flat is great and in a beautiful area of London.
Staying with Atlas, Ozzie and Curie at Kynda’s home was a lovely experience. Kynda was always vey kind and the communication was really easy going. Definitely we recommend this family 💜🫶🏻
“Make sure I don’t pack Pucky in my big suitcase tomorrow morning,” I joked with Carolyn yesterday. Yes, he's a great dog and I've really grown fond of him in my 6 days here. We were always together and it was really fun because he is very sweet and friendly towards everyone, well behaved and therefore easy to manage. You can let him run free a lot without a leash. Alex also gave me precise instructions on the vineyard walk on the first evening. That was very helpful because hence I knew all the commands for Pucky and the procedures. The highlight: “going potty” late in the evening. Ok, no garden, but the potty routine is so easy. Simply brilliant, let yourself be surprised. The vineyard walk is wonderful for the morning and/or evening; it starts just a few minutes above the house. At lunchtime we went to the dog park and played ball, that was our rain program. Unfortunately, there were only a few of his playmates at the dog park, perhaps because the sit lasted over New Year's Eve or because of the frequent rain. But during our last walk in the vineyards, many of them were suddenly there again, and it was a great joy for me to watch them play. We were lucky with the weather twice and once went up the mountain - Mont Pélerin and once on one of the famous wine hiking routes to Saint Saphorin. On January 2nd everything was closed there, but during wine season these paths in Lavaux must be a dream. You can then have a nice stop anywhere. On both tours we also used the train or the funi(culair). Pucky does a great job with all of this. And…. the other people on the road always look at him because he is a really beautiful dog, with a very positive, friendly charisma. They often also started talking to me because they wanted to know everything about him. Sometimes he jumps up at them in his joy, but then they usually animated him. And Pucky loves being outside a lot, but he is also a cuddly dog at home. I hope I see him again, maybe during the swimming season. When it comes to the water, he pulls on quite a bit (understandably) and wants to get in there. He loves swimming more than anything and Lake Geneva is not far away on foot. But Carolyn and Alex have taken care of everything, there is an extra no-pull harness, you just have to have it with you 😉. I would also like to come back when it snows, but then I’ll bring my car with me, so I can drive up into the mountains. Carolyn and Alex's home: A wonderful view over Lake Geneva and the snow-capped mountains, but also of the old town center with the church of Corseaux. The apartment is close to a street, but is still quiet, it is nicely furnished with everything you need, for me my own room with a large bed and my own bathroom. Carolyn and Alex also put extra firewood for me because I love log burners, but the apartment is already nice and warm... On New Year's Eve, fireworks could be seen from the balcony across Lake Geneva all the way to France. Pucky only came by briefly to ask if everything was okay, then he went back upstairs to sleep. A really cool, calm dog who is happy with his surroundings. When I arrived, Alex drove to the train station in Vevey to pick me up and then also my large luggage from my sitter family I stayed before. Thank you Alex again! This meant I was able to go on a marvelous day trip high into the snow-capped mountains with a light backpack and spend the night in a wonderful hut. That's why you do sits in the mountains 🤗. And when we arrived at the apartment, Carolyn had cooked for all of us and we had a lively conversation throughout the evening. What a warm, personal welcome. And today, on the day of my departure, Alex again brought me back to the train station before work. Thank you! This site is highly recommended, I'm always happy to come back when the dates work. All the best to you three, Petra
