This was like a fantasy sit for us - a beautiful home in the middle of a tiny village next to a duck pond with Scooby, a character laden little fellow who loves to play. Scooby is a bit nervous and barks at cars but is very well behaved and affectionate at home when away from traffic. Once we got off the road (which is an easy thing to do being out in the countryside with hundreds of fields to explore) Scooby was very easy to walk on the lead. Karen gave us great instructions and showed us where to walk Scooby before our visit. There are some great little pubs nearby and lots of things to do. Would definitely recommend a car for this house sit.
Fiona and John had such positive energy and were amazing hosts, sharing yummy food and drinks on our first night together. Fiona was available when I needed help and she was forgiving, understanding and supportive when anything went awry (for example the train service shutting down from London, electricity going out from bad weather, and me messing something up 🙈). Minnie and Ginger love lounging upstairs (where it's cozy and warm), and both of them were great company during my 3 weeks there. When I worked upstairs, I had coworkers, when I worked downstairs- I think they knew it was serious business and allowed me to focus on my work. Minne LOVED being pet and brushed in the bathroom and she makes the cutest faces and has the cutest mannerisms and I wish I couldve packed her in my suitcase to take with me! She will forever be imprinted in my heart! Ginger is in love with love, and he really enjoyed pets, playtime, and laying on my chest or being picked up and held against the chest. (Ps. Minnie does NOT like to be picked up, at least not by me 😅 I unfortunately found that out when she ran out the front door and I had to pick her up to bring her in). I was concerned by some symptoms Ginger displayed (eye discharge, overgrooming/missing fur on his back, some wheezing and at times a restlessnes.) But Fiona took him to the vet when she got back, and let me know he is healthy! Maybe it was a food allergy to turkey or something? 🤔 or maybe I'm just a worrywart! 🙈 By the way, giving him his prednisone is super easy! He eats the pill encased in putty right out of your hand.If hes acting like he isnt going to eat it, and you're in a rush, just dip into his wet food and then he can't resist (again out of your hand). (This is before breakfast!) The house is colorful, eclectic and comfortable and I loved the peekaboo views of the green rolling hills in the distance from the guest room. I actually didnt explore the surrounding areas at all, and besides two trips to London, I spent my time just being with the kitties and going slow in Farnham, which has a simple living vibe. I loved walking the 1.5 miles into the center and doing yoga at Ebb& Flow, watching some shows at the Farnham Maltings and walking around on some of the public paths and through the park. To sum up: great people, loving cats, comfortable home and relaxing town!
I had an awesome time in Montpellier with Sophie. She is adorable and behaves extremely well. Jordan was very welcoming, he even showed me around the city. The apartment is only one tram ride away from the center, in a super quiet area, surrounded by trees. It's the perfect place to relax.
Our recent dog-sitting adventure with Kim and Adrian's four adorable pups—Mr. Sox, Snoop Dog, Lucy, and Lexi—was nothing short of delightful. From the moment we stepped into their welcoming home, we knew this was going to be a pawsitively wonderful experience. First and foremost, the dogs stole our hearts with their lovable personalities and easy-going nature. Mr. Sox, with his endearing charm, Snoop Dog's playful antics, Lucy's gentle spirit, and Lexi's boundless energy, each canine companion brought its unique flavor to the mix. It was a joy to spend time with them, and we quickly formed a strong bond that made the entire stay immensely enjoyable. The daily walks with the four dogs were a highlight of our time with Kim and Adrian's fur family. The dogs were not only well-behaved but also eager and excited to explore the surroundings. Kim and Adrian's home is a haven for both humans and canines alike. The cozy and comfortable atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for our stay. The location of the house is a cherry on top. Being within walking distance to the beach and local restaurants allowed us to explore the area conveniently. In conclusion, our experience caring for Mr. Sox, Snoop Dog, Lucy, and Lexi at Kim and Adrian's home was truly exceptional. The combination of delightful dogs, a warm and inviting home, and a prime location made this house-sitting gig one for the books. We wholeheartedly recommend Kim and Adrian as pet owners and would jump at the opportunity to care for their fur family again in the future. Thank you for entrusting us with your beloved pets!
We had a really nice sit for Celia and Chris in there lovely home in beautiful countryside in Kent. We were looking after there Ducks and fish. This was a new experience for us as we haven't looked after Ducks before, and found the ducks quite amusing and enjoyed caring for them. They explained everything we needed to do regarding this, which was quite straightforward. Celia was excellent communicating all we we need now before hand, and upon on our arrival. Really useful welcome guide. We would recommend this house sit and would like to return in the future. Many thanks to you both.
Looking after little Mini was lovely and she gradually warmed to me enough to let me rub her belly which is always a small victory because then you know you're doing something right in the pet's eyes. Serena's house is very clean, quiet and cosy and also very convenient for local shops and public transport. She's also very personable and her house/pet manual was very comprehensive with all you might need to know so everything was straight forward. I can highly recommend this sit for little Mini and would more than happily look after her again if the opportunity arose.
