Katherine
Debbie, Matt, and their girls are wonderful people. They took good care of Gus and Ella, meeting every need. The girls were lively and very enthusiastic about being with our critters, as they left love notes for them when we got home--pretty adorable. Unfortunately, we were unable to bring them back to the train station, as we said we would do, due to our flight being very delayed, so they were able to get themselves to the train station. Recommended.

Aileen
Had an excellent 3 week sit at Aileen's cozy home in Helensburgh. It's a lovely little town right on a lake with great pubs, cafes, and shops nearby. Her 3 kitties were an absolute delight. Benson is young and playful. Laney is loving and silly. Elliot is shy and sweet. They were most wonderful company.

Had a fab time with Rupey, Toby and Kitty, who were all adorable and very friendly. Host communication was great - Ryan was very chilled and flexible on timings! Would recommend as a great sit!

Angeli
I arrived a bit late due to traffic. Angeli showed me the ropes and also fed me. Which was nice. She also sadly wasn't very grateful for my stay there over a night and a day. I also took time off work for this sit. She introduced me to her lovely lovely dogs who I adored and followed all directions to look after. Sadly wasn't able to receive any friendly feedback from Angeli, she also asked if if stolen her cutlery, which was, frankly, shocking. But, she probably has a stressful day. Still, I wouldn't expect that sort of thing from a service for the love of dogs and to help. I hope she has better reactions with future sitters. Thanks all!

Rachel has the perfect location - lovely neighbourhood, close to transport and lovely walks. Kitties are well behaved, cuddly and adorable. Rachel leaves great, detailed information for her place. Loved staying here :)

Ayala
Ayala was great, really clear communication and made me feel extremely comfortable and welcomed. We had a great chat when I first went to meet her and Peggy, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

Peggy is such a character, and we played for hours! She’s much more entertaining than Netflix and honestly I was sad to leave but I’d be so happy to return.

Thank you Ayala 🌟

Living the Dream at Chateau de la Barbeliniere - A Story of French Elegance, Hospitality, and Adventure

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

As they often say, "If it's too good to be true, it probably is," but our experience at Chateau de la Barbeliniere in Thuré, France, defied this cliché. Our three-month stay at this magnificent French chateau, hosted by the delightful Arnault and Marie-Laure, was nothing short of a dream come true.

The journey began with a leap of faith - embracing uncertainty and stepping outside our comfort zones. We left the bustling summer season of Costa Blanca, Spain, and embraced a unique opportunity found online - to live in a French Chateau. After initial hesitations, we reached out to the hosts, and instantly, their warmth and hospitality shone through, making our decision an easy one.

Our hosts, Arnault and Marie-Laure, welcomed us with open arms, introducing us to the rich French language and culture. They even taught us some skills we never thought we'd need - like tractor driving! Their hospitality extended beyond the walls of their beautiful home, encouraging us to explore the stunning Loire Valley and even spend a weekend in Paris.

The Chateau de la Barbeliniere is a slice of French heaven, complete with a charming cottage, a sprawling 5-hectare park, wine cellar, event venues, and an outdoor swimming pool. Our daily life was a beautiful blend of remote work for our own business and voluntary hands-on tasks around the estate, from picking ripe apples and plums to mowing the grass and splitting wood. Each day brought a new adventure, making our stay both exciting and fulfilling.

We also found ourselves part of a global community, forming bonds with fellow visitors like Daz and Cathy, a lovely couple from Australia. This experience has been nothing short of transformative. It has shown us the beauty of embracing new experiences, the joy of stepping outside our comfort zones, and the magic that happens when you say 'yes' to life's wonderful surprises.

In essence, Chateau de la Barbeliniere is more than just a place to stay; it's a lifestyle, an adventure, and a dream come true. We couldn't recommend it highly enough.
