Grace told me the night before I was going out of town for 11 days that she had started a full-time job in Santa Fe, NM which is at least 60 miles from my home. She didn't think that would be a problem. Since she was going to be gone 8-10 hours a day and not even be in the same city I had to pay someone to walk and play with my dog almost every day.
Olly should be the poster child for pet sitting. He and I bonded and really quickly fell into a routine that made the whole week easy and comfortable. While really low maintenance in terms of care, Olly was very affectionate and loved to spend time curled over my shoulder or lying on my chest. I was able to meet Zahava and Olly before the sit and get all the information about the flat and the kitchen. The flat is really spacious and bright and the location is better than I had hoped. I was able to spend my days walking around Camden market, regents park, and Hampstead heath and wouldn’t hesitate to go back
We were very warmly welcomed by Kelley and Gareth. Gareth kindly picked us up from Jerez airport and also drove us around the local area pointing out supermarkets and how to get to the beach etc. The welcome guide was excellent and very detailed and Kelley and Gareth also took the time to show us how everything worked and introduced us to Yadi and Stevie. By the time Kelley and Gareth left for the airport we were already feeling at home. The house is lovely. Our bed was very comfortable, we had our own bathroom and balcony, and there was air conditioning which worked really quickly and quietly. The kitchen is well equipped, and there is a huge television and comfy sofas. The pool is a really good size and we spent a lot of time either in it or relaxing in the outdoor area which was great too. The plant watering took about half an hour a day but it was quite satisfying to see the tomatoes, beetroots etc growing well and the tomatoes we tried were really tasty. We used buses and trains the first week to explore locally and particularly enjoyed visiting Cadiz on the ferry. We had hired a car for the second week so went a little further afield (Gibraltar, Jerez, Seville, Rota etc) but hiring a car is far from essential. There are loads of places to eat, lovely beaches and a good supermarket only 10 minutes walk away. Yadi and Stevie were little stars and great fun. Yadi doesn’t look particularly Siamese but he talks the talk alright! He is the more reserved of the two and took a few days to warm up to us but then loved his strokes and belly rubs and he has the loudest purr ever!! 😄. Stevie is more chilled and quickly flops over to make biscuits and also purrs like a train. Both come back in when called especially if a bag of treats is rattled. They love being outside but didn’t seem upset when we locked up and went out for a few hours and or even longer for a few of the days. A lovely pair of cats without an aggressive bone in their bodies. Already missing them. We had a great time and would highly recommend this sit. There is lots more for us to see and do in the area and we hope to return before too long. Thanks so much to Kelley and Gareth for choosing us.
Such a great sit-- adorable and easy cats, lovely and comfortable home, and a kind and communicative host. The cats were so easy to care for: they do their own thing but also like to be around. Bally and Humph will snuggle enthusiastically, which I love, but even the shy ones warmed up and would get scritches or wander by for attention or sleep on the bed with me...except for Noelle, of course. She's a fluffy grey mystery until the Dreamies come out :) The house is so nice, full of lovingly collected art and many comforts. It's right in The Hope, feet from the bus stop, 2 small shops for groceries, and Robertson's Coffeehoose. Some lovely walks can be had right from town, too. And AJ was thorough with her guide and helpful with questions. I hope I can come back some day and hang out with the crew again!
I absolutely loved hanging out with Gonzo. He was a pleasure to be around and so well behaved. Madelyn’s place is super nice, bright, beautifully decorated, and clean. The neighborhood she lives in is very new and safe to walk Gonzo around, and the beaches/downtown were ~25 minute drive as well. Madelyn was also an excellent and helpful host, only positive things to say about this sit!
This was a very nice and easy sit. Sarah is great and has a lovely home and Moab is a super sweet love bug. I enjoyed the pleasant stay.
Lucy's place is great! Her owner Dhruv keeps a clean house, with plenty of treats and scratching posts. Perfect destination for visitors! Lucy woke me up every morning with moto-purrs. She was easy to care for. She brings her dancing queen out in the evening! Lol Lucy and Dhruv's house is a great location and set up for successful sits. Looking forward to hanging with Miss Lucy again!
