We had a great week looking after Gemma’s home and Willow. Communication was clear before and during the sit and the village, although small, was well positioned for easy access to the beaches, shops and even a day trip to Spain. Willow was an excellent companion, easy to look after, good recall when walking off lead and well behaved at all times. Her favourite thing is to go to the beach for ball chasing, swimming and rolling in the sand. The house is quirky but comfortable, with English TV channels and good wifi. We enjoyed our time here, it was hard to say goodbye to our new friend. We’d definitely recommend this housesit to others.
We loved looking after Rosie! She is an intelligent dog and a great companion for the week. Christine & Jim made us feel incredibly welcome in their home. We also went for a practice walk to get to know Rosie before they left. The location is perfect for walks around Cammo, Cramond and Dalmeny. Thank you for a wonderful house sit!
Olivia and Davis were very welcoming, Alaska and Maizy are SO cute and their home is lovely! I chatted with Olivia over Facetime before coming down, and we touched base over text as the date got closer to coordinate arrival times, etc. The instructions were really clear on a sheet that she printed out for me. The dogs are really easy - Maizy will stare at you or wait by the door if she needs a potty break, they get fed at 5pm and otherwise will play as much fetch as you are willing to give them (and the more you play, the more they'll love you). I took them out for some long walks on the nearby BLM trails too, and they listen well off-leash. If you love nature, solitude and getting outside, I highly recommend this sit and would happily come back!
I had a great time looking after Rafael for a couple of weeks. He’s such a nice dog who loves having someone around. He had a tough life before coming to Norway, but now he’s got it good. One longer walk each day and a few shorter strolls and the rest of the day he enjoys sleeping or watching you. He can be left alone for a while if you want to go out exploring, in which case he just catches up on his sleep. It was great getting to know Gry. She was so generous, and left the fridge fully stocked for me. Her flat is modern and well-situated, and within walking distance to shops and markets and the old part of Fredrikstad. If you stay in winter, you'll love the heated flooring. I did just fine without a car, and you can access the train station via a short walk and free ferry ride. Oslo is under an hour by train or bus. Definitely do this house sit if given the chance!
A wonderful sit at Kates retreat in the Scottish Borders. Communication with Kate was great before the sit and she very kindly cooked us a lovely meal the night I arrived and showed me the ropes. Kates home is just beautiful. I had the studio to myself and use of the house while Kate was away. It was such a treat to cook in her large, open plan kitchen and enjoy meals whilst watching the birds and wildlife in the garden. The area is very picturesque with plenty of beautiful walks right on the doorstep and Beason will show you the way. Beason is such a sweet boy. So well behaved, I never had to have him on lead. He is full of energy and will dash off through the countryside but always checked back in to make sure I was keeping up. His recall is great too. I already miss having him follow me around the house. I had such a lovely time - thank you Kate for having me. If you are looking for a peaceful, rural retreat, I highly recommend this sit.
Brianna and Paul are a lovely couple. It was a pleasure taking care of sweet Charlie in their comfortable home. Even though they were overseas communicating with them was easy and they responded quickly to any questions we had. Their homeowners guide was thorough and included some great suggestions for walks, sightseeing and restaurants. The neighborhood is safe, has plenty of parks nearby and lots of little free libraries if you enjoy a good book. The area of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario is filled with natural beauty and lots of walks and hikes that lead to postcard perfect vistas. Being there in the autumn was a bonus, so many beautiful colors. Now the best part. Charlie! He is a sweetheart and loves a good cuddle on the sofa. He may or may not be interested in a walk around the neighborhood but is always happy to jump in the car to visit some nearby parks. He’s happy to tag along when you go explore the area but is just as happy napping on the couch while you are gone. We loved getting to know him. He has such a good personality! Long story, short-great dog, comfy house, nice people-this sit checks all the boxes.
