I spent a very nice week looking after 2 adorable older dogs in a quiet residential area of Victoria. It was pleasure to spend time with Whiskey and Lulu. Both dogs are very loving, happy dogs and are easy to spend time with. A house sitter will be assured of lots of doggy snuggles and companionship. The house is very comfortable with lots of patios for leisurely reading and the house sitter is provided their own space with a bathroom and easy access to the backyard. It is an easy transit ride (one bus) to downtown Victoria and there are lots o nice lakes for swimming and lots of good hiking available in the area. Eric and Lycette were very welcoming and helped me feel comfortable staying in their lovely home.
I have traveled and lived all over the world, and this was absolutely an incredible experience: you wakeup every morning with a smile on your face. Both the house and location are certainly amazing, but Jackie as well is someone you are going to wish you had more time with to hear her experiences: she is defiantly the real deal. Bob is adorable, sensitive, communicative and very loving; he also wakes up with a smile on his face everyday and even does a little happy dance for you when it's adventure time: wheeeeeee! You won’t want to leave; you will want to come back.
Becky was wonderful to sit for. She was extremely hospitable, left loads of information to help and her house is absolutely lovely. The dogs were lovely company and each have really nice, individual personalities. The only issue I had was that they had a naughty streak. Becky warned me that the dogs got up on the sides, but I wasn't quite prepared for just how bad it was. The dogs would chew and destroy ANYTHING. It felt like they needed constant supervision and I couldn't even pop to the loo without finding them up on the sides or in the pantry! I imagine it would've been easier with a second pair of eyes, but i wasnt quite prepared for the amount of items they got at and tore up during my stay.
We had a great sit looking after Rua and Teddy for Eoin and Emma. They were super friendly hosts, and they live in a great location. They helped us immensely and communicated quickly. Rua was full of energy and loved the ball chase in the park. He injured a dew claw while playing with another dog, which was sorted by a trip to the vet, which Eoin organised while he was away. Teddy was so easy also, coming in and out whenever he pleases....he's in hotel Dublin. Both animals loved their treats and just made the whole experience easy.
Susan and Paul were really friendly and welcoming. They were very thorough with their handover to us and explained their pets needs well. Jess, Lily, Suki and Lucifer were a pleasure to look after and we really enjoyed their home and garden. We would be more than happy to recommend this sit and would happily do it again if the timing was right
