April and crew were amazing! They treated my home as their own and took such good care of Ezra. He came down with a last minute cough and he was already doing so much better upon my return. April was very flexible when my travel plans changed last minute and was kind enough to even share a remedy when a migraine crept up. I wouldn’t hesitate to book them again!
I had a wonderful stay at her lovely apartment and felt completely at home with her adorable cats, Nina and Max. They were so affectionate and playful from the moment I arrived. Abby was a fantastic communicator and it's clear she cares deeply for her furry companions!
Kecia's home is in an ideal neighbourhood for pet- and housesitting. It is a couple of blocks from the River Valley, which is part of the largest urban park in Canada, and a great place for leashed or unleashed walks, cycling, and hiking. It it also a couple of blocks from Edmonton's grooviest pub, restaurant, and festival scene. Kecia has two affectionate but independent cats with easy feeding and letterbox routines. She also has a beautiful dog who is calm, responsive on his leash, and great with other dogs and humans. I hope sit is available again.
We had a fabulous sit at John & Jo's beautiful home. We had excellent communication before, during and after the sit. Jo picked us up from the nearby train station and brought us home to a fabulous northern African lamb feast with her whole family (dessert was a home made tart with whip cream). We thoroughly enjoyed our evening with John, Jo, their three children (and each child's partner). We stayed in a beautiful room with a big comfortable king sized bed, a lovely ensuite bathroom, and a great view of the front gardens. We enjoyed a few games of pool and many films in their glorious basement home theatre. It was a lot of fun. Jo's kitchen came fully equipped with every tool needed to cook a healthy meal and they left us lots of vegetables and a whole chicken to enjoy. We were graciously provided the use of their Mini Cooper to fetch our groceries, which was very generous of them. Jo & John have a full time gardener and a cleaning lady that comes twice a week, which was really nice, not just because of their contribution to the house and property, but because both were such wonderful people. The best part of our sit, of course, was the opportunity to care for their two lovely dogs, Maggie (4) and Kiera (16.5). I was a little nervous at first looking after Kiera, a very senior dog, but she gave me nothing to be nervous about. In the beginning, she was a bit wobbly on her feet but her stance firmed up as the days progressed. We had a few messes to clean up on a tile floor as she's occasionally incontinent, but it was nothing. Kiera opened up to us fairly quickly, and enjoyed being in our company. She followed us everywhere we went, looking for attention, and would often sit with us on the sofa, which was really sweet. Her energy levels and activity steadily increased over our sit and you could find her literally bouncing along the walking path with a bit of a skip at times. On her longer walks and when homeward bound, she would lead the way, often 50 to 100 feet ahead of Maggie and me. I couldn't believe she was 16.5 years old; she completely had me fooled by the end of our time with her. Kiera is very food motivated, loves getting treats, but takes her time to eat. Both dogs love to drink the water from the swimming pool (special water). Maggie, the young cockapoo, stole Dwain's heart. She had him laughing every time he played ball fetch with her and he did that multiple times per day as the yard is huge. After Maggie got a head start, he would throw the ball far and high or skim it along the ground. At times she would catch the ball in the air after the first or second bounce. If she lost it for some reason, she set up a very detailed search pattern until she found it. It was just adorable! She loved going for long walks and playing fetch all the way along the walk until she got tired and just held the ball in her mouth. Maggie is incredibly fast and agile. I think we wore her out as we were always so keen to play with her. When she got too hot, she would wade into the swimming pool or pond (yes, in January) to cool off. Maggie would always greet us with a toy or slipper in her mouth, tail wagging, and thrilled to see us. She would follow us to the sofa to get all the love she needed or sit with us in the home theatre while watching a movie/film. The dogs get along very well with each other, are very gentle, and never had any negative personality traits. They were an absolute delight to care for. The icing on the cake was having the use of the hot tub. We would go out after our film and sit under the stars. It was our little piece of heaven for just over a week. We are so glad we were given the opportunity to sit in this lovely setting. Jo was so thoughtful and also arranged a ride back to the train station. We would highly recommend this sit. Thank you Jo and John for having us. It was such a pleasure!
We felt so lucky to be invited to sit for Ruby and Billy who are the most adorable little characters. Roy and Rachel welcomed us into their comfortable home and gave us the guided tour a week or so before the sit began. We were introduced to the dogs, we feel this is very important, as we weren’t total strangers when the sit began. Rachel and Roy live in our hometown of Nailsworth, so we’re familiar with the best dogs walking trails and we loved taking Billy and Ruby along them. Both dogs are very cute and very well behaved. We would definitely consider revisiting them again in the future. Thanks so much Rachael and Roy it was an absolute pleasure… x
Kara is very easy going and hospitable. Ollie is very strong when she has her reactive moments and can be hard to distract if you are very aware of other dogs that might be around you. She is a very sweet and cuddly dog, just needs more lease training.
Mary has created a beautiful home that is both well appointed and comfortable at the same time. Stunning views from every window; two pups and a cat that pretty much instantly become our best friends in the world; scenic hilltop and ocean bluffs for every walk we took Bindi and Tessa on. Lucy the cat was a total cuddler and slept at our feet every night. We couldn’t have asked for a more well matched sit. Mary was so kind and welcoming and accommodating to our needs. Everything was perfectly organized for us and all of our communications and instructions on pet and house details very clear. We enjoyed her company and instantly felt a kinship with her. We would sit here again and again!
