Joseph took care of our cat and house-sat for us for 2 weeks. In advance of our trip, we were able to do both a virtual and in-person meet and greet to ensure everyone felt comfortable and do a walk through of the house, which we really appreciated. While we were away, Joseph responded quickly to texts/any questions we sent and provided photo and text updates every 1-2 days. Upon our return, our cat seemed happy. Unfortunately, the day of our return, Joseph accidentally locked himself out of our house. He communicated with us and we were able to provide him access to a backup key. However, when we returned home about an hour and a quarter later, we were surprised to find that he was still there (he was supposed to have left much earlier in the day before we arrived home, and we knew he was running a little behind because of the lockout, but he didn’t tell us he would still be there when we walked in). He texted us that the house was clean and ready for us, but unfortunately the house was not clean and the cat litter boxes were quite smelly and appeared not to have been changed or scooped in many days. While we realize that getting locked out of the house created some delays in getting packed and tidying the house, we were upset to find the kitty litter in that state and for the clear disorganization, at least in the final day. We provided this feedback directly to Joseph and hope that this was a one-time experience. However, we would urge clear communication around any expectations for cleaning, communication, and care.

Sue did a good job of taking care of our pup. Unfortunately the weather was not very cooperative and probably interfered in not enough exercise for an active puppy. But not her fault. Sue maybe could communicate a little better as far as more updates while we were gone. I asked for a daily but probably not totally her fault either as my husband said every other day, so we will take the blame for that. Only thing was she did say she would be here at a certain time, even when we met and was late for that and also the day of the sit. She did let me know and we were not on a total time crunch so it worked out fine. The day we were leaving we found out it was her first house sit for Zeewoi, and that did have us leaving anxious. But we came home to a well taken care of pup. Sue was great working with him and teaching him some new tricks. We would recommend Sue for other housesits.

Daniel
Daniel's cats are all very sweet. My room was comfortable. The bathroom is small and litter box is in a bit of a difficult spot to get to (for older folks may be a challenge to reach). The litter downstairs didn't seem to be fully scooped upon arrival so I just put all new litter in. I understand owners are often rushing out the door but a heads up for next time, will help make sitters time easier. The older kitty, Carl, mewed at me so much! I bought more churros because I felt that was a big reason for the many meows. I additionally purchased wet food similar to churros (chicken pate) as they cost less (Churros can be pricey each day!). The kitchen could use a bit of a clean as there were some fruit flies buzzing around. When I shared my experience with Daniel he appreciated first and foremost my care and genuine concern for his animals. I conceded I should have confirmed it was ok to purchase additional food. Fortunately the food helped allay the meows and Karl is ok from what I know after the fact. Some kitties can have digestion problems in their older age. I will miss these sweet souls. They are great company to keep!

Jive is super sweet and relaxed. The house is set up as you might need, no tv downstairs but one in the guestroom. Andy and Angela we're very nice and gave plenty of information but did come home a day early so worth confirming dates if you're travelling further.

I loved every second of my stay with Charlie, Cass, and the chickens! This is a lovely home in a wonderful neighborhood. Canela made me feel most welcome and had everything set up to make my stay easy and comfortable. The dogs are an absolute delight! This was my first experience with chickens and now I want some of my own... : ) I highly recommend this sit and would be delighted to return here again.

The communication with Melissa was very easy. I recognized her as responsible and caring pet owner and a kind person in general. She was very patient with me, my questions. I had really nice time with Josephine. She’s so wonderful, loving and sweet that I struggled to handle it haha wanting to squeeze her in a hug. She’s playful and likes being around you controlling your movements. She hates that you have to work but as soon as she realizes you have no choice she’ll sleep soundly in her bed. Josephine is easy to look after. The place itself has everything you might need, it’s spacious, clean, modern, and well located. I would recommend this sit for sure and would be happy to sit with Josie again ❤️

Justine
I had a wonderful stay in English Bay with Vanilla. She is the sweetest, cuddliest cat. She'll happily cosy up with you on the couch or bed (if you let her). For her age she's still got a spring in her step and gets the occasional zoomies if you're popping in and out of the different rooms, but will spend the rest of her time sleeping. And if you get the chance to stay longer with her, you'll really see her personality come through as she'll start meowing or lightly pawing at you for attention (which I happily abided by).

Justine is nice and easy to communicate with. I met her before the sit and she showed me everything, and there's lots of notes around the house if you forget anything. The place has all the amenities you need.

The area is so great to walk around, you've got shops close by and the beach. Sunset at the beach is a must see! Stanley park is also in close walking distance.

All this to say if you have a chance to stay with Vanilla, you're lucky! I miss her already.

tirion
Tirion's house is a charming cottage with a lot of space and a lovely garden! It was really nice to be able to have a walk direcly from the house into pedestrian paths which take you into the woods and to be able to run towards Ifield Mill Pond.
Unfortunately, we haven't met Tirion but she was available via telephone whenever we had a question and she left a lot of information about the house.
Every day we had a little chat or a cup of tea with her mother Kathleen who is very nice and has a good sense of humor!
