What a great sit with Nelson, the amazing talking dog, and Oliver, the cat who never refused a belly rub! How welcome we felt by Tennille and Mico, their home was very comfortable for the 2 of us. We had good long walks in this ethnically diverse neighborhood to church yards, graveyard, playing fields and lots of blackberries to eat along the paths. We even got to see our first cricket match, thank goodness Nelson was there to explain the game to us:) When nelson was ready for a walk he would grab his lead off the table and bring it to us, if ignored, he would go find my shoes and bring them complaining the whole way! Elena and Nathan’s place is in a fabulous location less than a 10 minute walk from Miami Beach. I am a Miami native (from the suburbs) but my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring such a walkable neighborhood, which is unlike many other parts of Miami. We arrived to an extremely clean home fitted with modern appliances (there is no TV, but this was not a problem for us). Maci is the absolute sweetest cat. He loved cuddling with us every night and receiving copious pets, which we of course enjoyed giving. He needs to be fed five times a day, but we didn’t feel too restrained by this as the location was so convenient it was easy to come back from wherever we were out to check on Maci and feed him. He is not super vocal or demanding, and is a pretty relaxed cat which meant we could sleep in a little bit (9 or 10 was fine) to feed him on the morning. Overall this was an excellent sit and Nathan and Elena were very nice. There is no written welcome guide, which is the only thing that I would have wanted, but taking notes helped and gave us almost all the information we needed. I’m sure anyone would love staying with Maci in Elena and Nathan’s home. Thank you again!
Winnie was the kind of doggie you can’t help falling in love with. She’s gentle, snuggly, is easy to care for, and she has quite the personality and spirit. We spent the majority of our 10 days just keeping her company, which is all she really needs. Rebecca greeted us with a detailed tour and provided a printed Welcome guide with an additional information filled folder, which was very handy. Rebecca and Kenneth are wonderfully hospitable and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and easy. I’m very grateful to be able to visit such a beautiful place, staying in a fabulous location, in a wonderfully appointed home. We appreciated being able to take Winnie out on short adventures. She loves a good car ride and being toted around in her backpack. We always left her head poking out a bit so she could take it all in. We made a game out of all the cute pictures of her sightseeing. #wherewinnie She loved getting a few sniffs in all the incredible parks in the area. There are so many parks nearby, we couldn’t possibly visit them all. The nearest town has everything you could want or need and is lovely to take in. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to travel and enjoy the company of such a great dog. We couldn’t get enough of this peaceful and beautiful place. This was the perfect sit and is exactly why we love using TrustedHousesitters. I always felt like I could connect with Rebecca if needed. Thanks again. This stay was deserving of way more than 5 stars.
I loved sitting with this menagerie of pets! Brisket (the pup) is a sweet girl who loves affection. The cats are trained with military precision at feeding time; they all know the drill, so once you know the process, it goes smoothly. It’s fun playing with them and figuring out each one’s personality. The house is big and comfortable with all the conveniences you need. The location is safe and quiet. Tony and Kaiya are super friendly hosts; they’re great communicators and they love their pets so much. I feel honored to have taken care of their fur kids.
This sit was a little different because we are local & didn't need a place to stay. We checked on Sal & Bruno once a day while Becca & Jeremy were away. They are super sweet kitties who were excited to see us & have their bowls filled. Becca was easy to communicate with.
Jenna's home is wonderful and was all decorated for Halloween, which is great fun! It was spotless, and the king bed was quite comfortable, even with our two fur friends sleeping with us. Paisley and Dot are the most loveable pups ever. They will lick you to pieces ! Paisley took about 5 minutes to warm up to us but as soon as my husband started playing the guitar, they both jumped up on me and sat and listened intently. It was adorable !! They are very well behaved after the first 1 minute zoomies when you return home and we loved snuggling on the huge basement couch watching TV every night with them. The many walking paths nearby were fantastic for our daily exercise and every store and restaurant is nearby. Overall, it was an amazing stay and we hope Dot and Paisley will in ite us back to play again soon.
