It was such a pleasure to spend my weekend in Porto with Rodney. He's such a lovely dog who loves to give kisses and he'll let you know exactly where and how long he wants to walk, haha! Communication with both Katherine and her roommate was flawless. Hope to be able to look after Rodney again in the future.
Jo and Nick are lovely and generous people. They invited me to use anything in their freezer/store cupboard which was good as the shops were a bus ride away. I chose to stay in the holiday cottage but with hindsight I should have stayed nearer to the dogs in the main house. The house is beautiful. This sit would have been better if I'd been younger and fitter but for me it was too physically demanding. I would love to do it again but only if my partner came to help. I shall miss the dogs, they were sweet. Thank you for everything Jo and Nick, especially the lovely supper the night I arrived.
Sheila and Gilroy have a lovely spacious home in a great part of the Algarve. I met them before the sit to spend the night and it was lovely to hear all of their travel stories. They are very warm, kind and generous people. They picked me up and dropped me back to a friend's house. They were excellent communicators throughout the trip and were very thoughtful when I received some bad news from the UK. They have a well equipped home and left very detailed guides on everything including plant watering, cats, and using the TV. It was lovely to spend time relaxing on the top terrace with a sea view. The bedroom was very comfortable especially the bed. Poppy and Linda are absolutely delightful. They each have their own personalities and are vocal at times. Linda spent time on my lap, Poppy on the bed. But both were curious about me and affectionate. Poppy sleeps in unusual locations in the heat, including the bathroom sink which is quite hilarious. I really enjoyed my month here and would recommend this as a top quality sit. I would happily return.
Gala is a beautiful cat, with lots of love! She loves company and playing with her. At the beginning she can be a bit shy, but then she comes closer and is very affectionate. We really enjoyed our stay at Susi and Gregor's home and the days in Berlin. They took care to explain us all the details of the apartment and Gala so that we could be very comfortable. Susi and Gregor are beautiful people with a lot of love and affection.
David and Helen were wonderful host and provided us everything we needed for a successful sit. A very thorough house guide and great communication made our sit seamless. They made us feel at home from the minute we showed up. They have a lovely home in a beautiful neighborhood. The best part of the sit was the four wonderful dogs. Each with their own personality but everyone of them gentle, loving and kind. They were all very chill and never gave any issues on our walks. They were very well behaved around other people and dogs. They were just happy to have us near them, either lounging indoors or by the pool. We miss them already! David and Helen are wonderful people and we were very grateful that they trusted us with their home and their pups.
Another perfect stay thanks to the magic of THS! Veronica and Darryl were warm and welcoming (and so hilarious), and invited us a night before to give us the house tour and meet the kitties. Their kitties Bob and Mardi were a little shy at first but quickly warmed up and accepted pets and treats on their terms. We quickly adapted to their routine of breakfast > outside time > some pets > free time. Taking care of them was a breeze and it was so entertaining to see their sibling rivalry/love. And their house - what a dream! So clean, had everything a guest needs, and was located near some great parks and restaurants. Their backyard is literally a park - we enjoyed talking walks, going on runs, and just enjoying the views from their patio. Their kitchen had all the appliances an amateur cook could ever dream of. Veronica was kind enough to leave us some baked goods and free access to her recipe book. The bed was so comfortable we did not want to leave - thankfully, Veronica and Darryl already invited us back for another sit!
