It was certainly a pleasure to meet and spend time with Gail and Harvey, and their fur--baby Tiger Lily. We had time to get to know each other the night before they left, and the afternoon they returned. So glad we have a mutual love of fresh sushi! Their home is very clean and comfortable, with great cross-breezes overnight and in the morning. Being a few miles inland is much cooler than on the coast, and beaches are nearby. Communication with Gail was excellent before and during the sit, and she created the most comprehensive welcome guide we've ever seen - thanks Gail! Tiger Lily is a sweetheart. She's friendly right away and loves to play in her tunnel and with her many toys. Then she'll go into sleep mode until it's time to play again. Being warned that Tiger Lily was an escape artist, she easily learned to chase a treat down the hall while I left the house. Having use of a car was very welcome, and only necessary for going a few miles to the coast. A grocery store, coffee shop, and bank are just a five-minute walk away. We look forward to staying in touch with Gail and Harvey, and look forward to the opportunity of sitting for this lovely family again! Truly one of the best sits I have ever done. Miki and Donavon are beyond kind and helpful and could not have done more to make me feel comfortable and welcome in their beautiful home. I didn’t sit for Blue, the pup, as he went with them on this trip, but Cosmo and Clea were absolute delights. Both full of personality and the exact right combination of hilarious and adorable. Cosmo could be a little spikey, but only because she was so excited I was home, and sometimes because she didn’t want me to stop petting her! Clea needs medication to help with arthritis, but after a few failed attempts to get her to take it I figured out what worked for her. Both were a breeze to look after, and slept in the bed with me every night and got cuddles. I miss them both so much already and will admit I shed a tear when I had to say goodbye. The house itself is beautiful and light and has all creature comforts you could possibly need. It is located in a lovely neighbourhood on a direct bus route to the city. Grocery store is just a 5 min walk, and there’s a beautiful forested park that leads down to a picnic area and beach less than 10 mins walk. There are great restaurants and cafes in Greenwood, and other neighbourhoods nearby like Phinny Ridge, Ballard and Fremont. Green Lake is also close and a popular spot for a wander. A wonderful base to explore the city from! I wouldn’t hesitate to sit for Miki and Donavon again, it really was a wonderful experience. They are so kind and helpful and I immediately felt so at ease with them. There should be more than 5 stars for this sit!!! 💖
Such loving (and cute) creatures! Charlie and Rémy both love to be pampered and cuddle. Walking Charlie is a breeze as he does short walks a few times a day. He free feeds, so his basic physical care is very easy! He does love to be around humans and gives the best "welcome home" when you get back from an outing. Rémy is an absolute character. He is playful, cuddly and sometimes a bit mischievous (to our delight- he is so fun and entertaining to watch!).. He definitely knows how to communicate what he wants and he just has the cutest face. We really enjoyed him! Rémy does love his food early in the morning, so he was our alarm clock each day! (We are both early risers for work, so this worked out for us). The neighborhood is adorable to walk in and has so many restaurants and cute shops. The house is artistic, clean and comfortable and set up with anything you might need! You will definitely get the Portland experience here. Mia and her family were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Thanks for a great sit!
This was a wonderful housesit! Sandi and Jeffrey are so warm and inviting, we felt like family instantly. Sandi picked us up at the train station when we arrived, and drove us to our hotel after the sit. We really appreciate this, and all the other special touches and things they did for us. We felt like we were in a Bed and Breakfast with the nice meals together, Sandi’s coffee expertise, and Jeffrey’s wine experience. Their house is beautiful, welcoming, and comfortable. Their garden is like a piece of nature’s paradise, lush and green, with birds singing. Milou, the star of the show, is such a sweetheart. She is in her senior years, and is so easy to look after. It was so enjoyable to take in the world at Milou’s pace. I loved watching her routine unfold, sunning herself and looking for her lizard friend in the front garden, patrolling the back garden, and of course her “pink purse game”. Milou warmed up to us right away. We felt honored and accepted, when she borrowed clothing and shoes from each of us, to sleep with in her various beds. We totally recommend this housesit! We hope to return for more walks with Milou, through her pleasant, leafy, neighbourhood.
I had a wonderful time sitting for Helen in Balmain! It’s such a vibrant suburb with so much to offer. Their home is right by the water with gorgeous views from the upstairs bedroom. Helen left thorough notes to help with taking care of the critters which I very much appreciated. The cats obviously need very little other than food, water and cuddles. Mia & Oreo (the dogs) are beautifully natured and obedient. I thought I would feel intimidated walking two dogs at once but they were honestly a breeze and some of the nearby parks offer stunning views of Sydney across the water. Helen is a warm, thoughtful, down to earth, chill person who is a dream to interact with! I would happily sit for her again!

She’s extremely knowledgeable about how to care for dogs, flexible with my timings, and just an overall pleasure to talk to. We recently picked Lucy up from a 16-day stay, and not once over that period was I worried about how she was doing. Anna Marie went above and beyond - she sent frequent photos and videos, brushed her out daily, worked on commands, and even took it into her own hands to figure out what food Lucy needed when she was being a picky eater. I am an EXTREMELY over protective Dog Mom to my 5 yo French Bull Dog Brodie. I have been searching for a dog sitter and trainer for him as long as I can remember, but I’ve never been satisfied leaving my fur baby until I found Happy Heart Pet Care. I will say I love to spoil my boy and only the best will do, however, this also meant he got away with a lot more behavioral wise then he should. So I needed to find someone knowledgeable that I could trust with my boy… I haven’t been able to find someone reliable that not only had the experience to help train Brodie, but that I felt comfortable trusting to care for him. Anna Marie checks all the boxes. She not only has helped with Brodie’s training, but I trust her to care for him as if he was her own. She is truly our dog nanny! Brodie loves Anna Marie and he has become such a better behaved boy since he was introduced to her training and care. Having a person who not only will train your dog, but love them the way you would is priceless. He respects her and she has a great relationship with my boy teaching him with obedience training and socialization. All the dogs she cares for are very well behaved so he has her pack to learn from as well. She also is a great resource for a number of suggestions and advice with regard to your pets health and well being. She is always the first person I call or text to ask any questions with regard to his health or needs, which is invaluable. She is one of the most kind and understanding people I’ve met in LA and I have no doubt I would ever find someone who cares or loves Brodie more as a trainer or dog nanny than her. Needless to say I highly recommend Happy Heart Pet Care. Your life will be easier with your dog if you use her, trust me!
So grateful to have found Happy Heart Pet Care--they are the best! I have an adopted pound dog who is super skittish (and bark-y) with new people and for the past 4+ years, has not been comfortable with other dogs. She LOVES Anna-Marie and Matthew and, after just three visits, she is already changing in wonderful ways--less skittish with new people and excited to play with other dogs, which I never thought possible. Anna-Marie is incredibly kind and accommodating, thoughtful about introducing new dogs to their environment, and thoughtful of skittish human owners, sending them photos of their happy dogs. I contacted them because of the consistently amazing Yelp reviews (a rare thing), without realizing they're on the west side of LA. My dog and I are way on the east side, but still travel there because knowing my pup is safe and happy with people she loves and who genuinely care is worth everything.
Matthew and Anna Marie are both so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about dogs. Their love for our 9week old Darcy is so heartwarming! I certainly had my concern leaving a young puppy with other people for a week, but Matthew and Anna Marie stayed very communicative. They also helped me on getting to know/adjust for a puppy. I could see Darcy was so well cared for through photos/detailed text updates. Truly appreciate their existence 💙
Anna-Marie took care of my 1 year old shih tzu puppy, Tater Tot, for almost 3 weeks while we were away. She was wonderful as she was very flexible with drop off/pick up times, and gave Tater Tot lots of love but also trained him! Tater is much more calm and well behaved now! He was brushed everyday, made many new dog friends, and enjoyed his walks. Anna-Marie updated us with cute photos and videos of him and we can’t wait to have him back with her again!
Where do I start? So thankful for Matt and Anna Maria. Matt has been a life saver with behavior modification with my sweet girl Cocoa. Cocoa is a hyper-vigilant rescue pit, with a few social challenges. Matt not only was able to with patience and professionalism, earn her trust, and help with her behaviors, he was also able to teach me, ways to manage when she and I are in the wild. He is very hands on, and teaches key fundamentals when handling a dog, and working with the world around them. I literally on multiple occasions have been able to handle situations without panic and stress due to Matt’s training. Cocoa also has been managing her stress better as well. You are equipped with the knowledge literally after just one session, the most rewarding thing is seeing the transformation in Cocoa. She has come such a long way. Happy Heart Pet Care has been a blessing. I highly recommend. 10 out of 10!

They are highly experienced and had my aggressive rescue dog showing improvement after just a few sessions! I’ve also used their services when traveling. We found Anna Marie on Yelp and trusted the good reviews she had- it was the first time we left our puppy with someone she didn't know and in another city. We loved Anna the first moment we met her, she was super kind, and you could tell she had a lot of knowledge and experience with dogs. We saw our puppy liked her from the very beginning and felt safe with her- we left her one full day and, when we picked her up, she was super happy and looked like Anna took great care of her. I highly recommend her; she is amazing!

I wish I could give Dog Camp LA 5,00000 stars - 5 just doesn't do justice for their one-of-a-kind company. When I started a new job earlier this year where I couldn't take my dog to work, I was panicking with how to handle it. After some research, my initial phone call with Brenda immediately calmed my nerves and she was able to accommodate us and meet the very next day. Since then, it has been nothing but smooth sailing - Dog Camp LA are my literal heroes lol. Each update from their trained, dedicated, professional and incredibly sweet walkers make my (and my dog's) day. They feel like family now and even when I have to book last minute or cancel with a shifting schedule, they are the most understanding and quick to support our needs: like just yesterday there was a small earthquake in LA and one of their amazing walkers came to check on my dog to make sure she was ok! I could go on and on, genuinely beyond grateful for Dog Camp LA.

They house sat for us and we have a little terrier (a hyper dog!) and they were great! Trustworthy and clean. They even took our dog on hikes and wore her out. I would recommend them to anyone. WELL worth the peace of mind to have pros look after our baby.

People were great! Sadly, they do have homeless in the immediate vicinity (or drunks lying about), but that’s not their fault. I wish I had taken more photos, as they were exceptionally clean, and the fellows who helped me were very nice and helpful. My girl took a while to warm up, but I think she enjoyed it!

We boarded our dog for the weekend with no issues. Great space for dogs to hang out together, individual stalls/rooms for sleeping, and followed medication & feeding instructions with no issues. We will definitely use them again! Our dog left happy :)

Our dog, Rockoh was taken there a couple of days and he loved it. He did not want to come home. He enjoyed playing with the other dogs. They took real good care of him and gave him a grooming.

Renata and Rebeca are amazing!! We left on a 10 day trip and we were anxious about leaving our dogs. With Marge (our new rescue), the thought of boarding her was depressing since she was fresh out of the shelter and just getting used to being in a home again. Rio Pet Hostel provided a comfy, more personable alternative to boarding. First, we did a meet-and-greet where we met Rebeca, Renata, and their pup Mandy outside their apartment. We then went into their place so Kevin and Marge could explore the environment. Kevin and their dog Mandy immediately started playing (Kevin usually doesn't play) so we knew it would be a good fit. The apartment is extremely dog friendly, complete with a dog teepee, pet-safe balcony and lots of toys. We asked lots of questions- the dogs are never left home alone, and Rio Pet Hostel is comfortable administering medication (Marge was fresh out of surgery when we had to leave so that was key). They also love bringing the dogs outside to the dog park or beach, so they aren't just sitting around with zero stimulation. When we picked them up, they gave us 2 printed photos of our dogs from their stay and a little gift bag of dog treats! It was so nice and adorable!! They are extremely flexible with pick up/drop off times, and the ability to pay via venmo makes things super easy. While on our trip, we received daily updates consisting of amazing photos and videos. It was reassuring to see that we left our dogs in great hands. I've attached some of the amazing photos we received from Rio Pet Hostel while we were away. They are seriously stunning- I don't think we will ever do regular boarding again. Rio Pet Hostel also provides daycare, dog walking, and home visit services. Check them out- you will not regret it!
Rio Pet Hostel Hollywood is a GEM! I can't believe I am so lucky as to have found them. My dog Daisy loves them - she gets excited every day/time she comes over! And she is one tired pup when she comes home from all the fun she has! I always get adorable pictures and videos so I know what Daisy is up to, since I miss her when I'm away! The girls always work with my schedule to help me out, and I appreciate them so much. I hope I never have to find another dogsitter ever! Rio Pet Hostel is NUMBER 1!!!!
I love my pup Anya so much and would only leave her with people I really trust. I’m so glad I found Rio Pet Hostel. Renata and Rebeca are so sweet with her and are great about sending pictures, videos, and text updates. Anya is a bit timid around other dogs and I’m glad we have Rio Pet Hostel to look after her when I’m away and also give her a chance to socialize with other dogs in a safe environment.
This place is AMAZING! I’ve had my little pup stay with them overnight for one day all the way up to 9 days when I went out of town. The ladies that own this business are nothing short of living miracles! They have accommodated me on short notices and when travel plans changed. They keep in direct contact with you through your pet’s stay with photos, videos, and text updates. They even gift you a little bag of treats when you come to get your little one. My pupper loves it so much there that she doesn’t seem to want to leave when I come to pick her up! 15/10 will use this place again! No need to look any further than Rio!
Renata, Rebeca, and Mandy took fantastic care of our dog, Dipper, with all their hearts, bringing him in like one of the family, if only for just the weekend! Everyday was filled with photos and videos of Dipper popping up on our phones for our own peace of mind. Dipper had a great time and came back to us as his happiest self. They even gave us a professional photo of him and a treat to go! 5 stars is not enough!

These girls are literally my lifeline. My dog (Maus the grey Whippet) is my most precious thing in my life and as I go away for long stints for work (most recently over a month) I need to have piece of mind that she is being beautifully cared for. Maus can't wait to go back because it's way more fun with them than with me!!! They take her in as part of their wonderful family and for that I am eternally grateful. Their prices are so reasonable and what you get is literally beyond measure. Maus always comes home looking happy, healthy and content. I couldn't recommend the Rio pet hotel highly enough. I'm so so lucky to have found them. 1000/10 would be my rating if it was possible!

I can’t say enough good things! It was very last minute and Charlie was able to take care of our cat with update videos and texts! She came to our rescue and took care of our pet at our home while we were away and even spent some time with her and gave her some good company. Charlie is very sweet and loves kitties! I’m excited to also set up boarding even when I’m not on a trip so my cat can socialize in a safe and clean environment. You can tell Charlie really cares about all animals and goes above and beyond to make sure they are taken care of and safe. My cat is shy so I was concerned about leaving him while traveling. Charlie provided a safe environment where he could get comfortable, roam freely and make friends with other cats boarding with her. From the video updates I received, I could see that Rocket loved his staycation and highly recommend Charlie's Feline Services!
Charlie is excellent! Nice, clean place where my cat could roam around or hide if needed (which wasn't needed). Charlie sent videos and photos each day and even gave me a personality profile check for my new cat as I get to better understand him. Highly recommended! Mark is great with dogs - walks and training. He really helped my dog learn how to not pull on the leash and to interact with other dogs safely. He has been very consistent with dog walks and has worked with my ever-changing schedule.
We traveled from San Diego to LA for a concert and planned to leave our two pups in our room. Although, our hotel allowed pets they did not allow us to leave them unattended. Mark was very flexible and accommodating on such short notice. We met him within 30 minutes from contacting him and felt like we could trust him to watch our babies. I highly recommend Mark for all pet needs. He is not just a pet sitter or a dog walker, but a respected animal behaviorist who came recommended to me by a fellow bulldog owner with years long experience with him. From the moment I met him, I could tell that he had a special conversation going on with animals. My dog was super calm hours after meeting him. As a single bulldog mom, the thought of putting my baby in the hands of rotating strangers, or programs where my Butch would just be a number, was painful, so meeting Mark was a huge relief. I recently had the pleasure of working with Mark from A Big Dog House for dog walking services and I couldn't be happier. Right from the start, I could tell that Mark was knowledgeable, professional and personal. He was very knowledgeable about the dogs he walked, as well as the area. He also took the time to get to know my dogs on a personal level and made sure they got the best care possible. He always arrived on time and was very flexible with scheduling. I have been a repeat customer, hiring Mark's services twice a week, and my dogs always come home happy and tired. Additionally, I have used his overnight stay packages and was amazed by how well he took care of my pup. His dog grooming skills were also incredible. Mark is a Zen master when it comes to dogs - his calm and warm demeanor instantly put our chi/JRT mix at ease. In less than a week, Mark had her walking with the pack, and we came home to a stress-free and happy doggo. Mark has a gift with animals, and understands what makes them tick.
Marc and Lori treat my pup with upmost love and care! She runs to the door excited every time we drop her off, and we get photo updates every single day. There are times when we bring her back home and we can tell she really misses them! We love our dog and it’s always stressful to leave her behind when we need to go out of town, but Marc and Lori take such great care of her that we can rest easy while we’re away. Our anxious dog usually tries to run away from vets, groomers, and sitters- but she is excited to see Marc and Lori and happily runs to greet them when we drop her off. I couldn’t ask for a better attestation, I know she is in good hands.

The Hounds Club is great and I couldn't recommend it enough! The staff is very friendly, professional, and genuinely love your dogs. I feel very safe leaving my dog with them. They always have someone watching the dogs and playing with them at all times. They take your dog's enjoyment and safety very seriously. Give them a call and check them out. A dog trainer I worked with recommended Hounds Club to me as a good place to help meet the needs of my puppy’s endless energy. I like that they assess all dogs who come through first to make sure they know how to best care for them. My puppy loves it there, is always excited to go and always tired and happy coming home. I feel really at ease and safe leaving her at Hounds Club for daycare or boarding. It’s a great relief to trust that my dog is in thoughtful and caring hands. Below is my pup getting picked up.
The staff at Hounds club was excellent with my pup! It was his first time at a groomers and they took extra care to ensure that he was comfortable with the whole experience. Upon picking him up, he was full of energy, ready to play and not scared at all. Elyana was great with his first puppy grooming and gave us great information and recommendations for my pup. Ben was very friendly and informative about the services offered. Great time here overall and will definitely be back!
I've been coming here for over a year now. When we get there, my dog rushes to the interior door that leads to the dogs, or greets anyone in the lobby. She loves this place. As do I. For Halloween this year, they had a costume contest. My pup did not win.
Our pup Mookie is new to the Hounds Club and absolutely loves it. He needed more playtime for his puppy energy levels. Hounds Club was the trick. Staff are friendly and rates are reasonable.
Our dog Baby Girl just had her first daycare at Hounds Club and we couldn’t be happier. The location is fantastic - great parking, easy to get to, spacious and I love the windows inside where you can see the daycare area. We had tried another company prior and we weren’t thrilled with the experience and are so relieved to have been recommended Hounds Club, the difference was night and day. They were thorough with our dogs temperament test and the fact Ben got down on the ground to meet our dog and interact with her just showed how much they care. During her test how they brought out a dog one by one to hang with our dog was just another attention to care I loved to see. We had wanted to book a boarding the next day but he explained that with her slight nervousness it’d be best to wait and that dogs have to have a couple hours of daycare first before boarding, he was in tune with our dog’s best interests and it was certain things like that that were such green flags, it showed how much they care and pay attention to your dog and really want what’s best for them. We did daycare the next day rather than boarding and Baby Girl had such a fantastic time, I love that there are cameras to watch on the website. She came home so happy and tired. The other place we tried she smelled really bad when we picked her up. Overall I’m just very impressed by their whole operation, it’s all set up perfectly and the level of care is above and beyond. I have total peace of mind leaving our dog in their care
It was my dog’s first visit, and he loved it! He has been to previous day cares in the past, and he was always anxious when leaving. I could tell he felt extremely at ease after a day at The Hounds Club! Can’t wait to bring him back :) the staff was also extremely helpful and receptive. Thank you!!
We have been very pleased with Hounds Club. The staff is very caring and we are delighted how welcoming they are when we drop off our fur baby Jax. It's nice to know that he is in great hands when we utilize daycare twice a week.
