Rachel
I sat for Rachel in Harlem. I communicated with her the entire time as needed. About the protein bar, I left it in the wrapper, went to use the bathroom and when I came back out Rylee had ate it all. I got in contact with a vet immediately which I told Rachel about and she proceeded to act like it was no big deal. I asked “should I call a vet” and she replied “oops, no she should be fine”. And thankfully, she was fine! I read the ingredients there was nothing too harmful in it, gladly. And she mentioned I left bread on top of the fridge. I didn’t want to put them on her countertop because she had roaches, all in the kitchen area. So I rarely put any food I bought or made on her kitchen top. And the spoons?… I placed a few in the cup holder next to the sink after washing them where some other kitchen utensils already were before I ended up finding the utensil drawer… Next, last time I sat for Rachel she came back at around 3:30pm , and she let me know when she was coming back. So I made sure I had enough time to clean etc no problem before she came back and I left at 1:30pm. This last time, she didn’t inform me when she’d be coming, so I assumed she’d be back at the same time. She came back at around 11am and I hadn’t checked my phone to see her inform me of this the same morning... I would’ve appreciated letting me know the night before at least but she came in while I hadn’t finished getting everything ready to go. And I still managed to get everything in order while she went to go bring her bag up and with ease, as to not add stress or anything and in that duration of cleaning, I accidentally put dish soap in the dishwasher instead of the dishwashing soap. I
always used the cascade that’s meant to be used but I grabbed the wrong soap in a rush of leaving. When she came in she was pretty nonchalant and cool with everything, as I never got to meet her beforehand, but after I left… an hour afterwards, she sent me a picture of some suds coming out the dishwasher on to the floor. I was glad it wasn’t a lot and apologized for using the wrong soap at that moment and explained that I filled it while she was downstairs… I never brushed anything off as it didn’t matter in the slightest and I communicated throughout… I always appreciate meeting the owner before they leave, i believe that may or may not have made a difference but Rylee is definitely the sweetest, most loving dog and I’m glad I got to care for her.
