A fantastic sit,
Liz and Shawn were very welcoming and made us feel very at ease as soon as we arrived. The handover gave us all the information we needed. The house is large, well equipped and sophisticated but easy to manage in a very quiet neighbourhood. The garden is south facing and private, the perfect location in which to relax and take advantage of the pool. The highlight though is Schmoo, she is an utter delight. Timid at first but once you get her confidence, very affectionate and playful. We had a really nice relaxing time and would thoroughly recommend. Thank you Liz, Shawn and of course Schmoo.

Sandi and Nigel were friendly and welcoming hosts. Upon my arrival, I was given a beautiful bouquet of flowers and greeted by Remi, who was wagging her tail. They also have fish—but they were on a self - feed timer.

Sandi and Nigel have a beautiful, comfortable, and spacious home, not too far from Palm Bay and Melbourne Beach which have great stores and restaurants.

Remi is so cute, adorable, and intelligent. And I just love her beautiful eyes which are so hypnotic. She loves her food, treats, and toys. She likes being near her human, but not in an obsessive way.

Remi is very energetic, super strong, and loves her walks around the lake. On walks, Remi wears a harness, pulled hard on leash, and was constantly looking for something to chase. She will need a strong hand and authoritative voice to have her under control because walking her at times was challenging. However, she also had moments of good leash manners.

The most unexpected challenge was when Remi went out one of her doggy doors leading into the backyard in morning daylight and she came across prey, caught and killed it. I pulled a muscle in my hip and almost fell in trying to pull Remi off of the prey. It left blood on Remi which I had to clean, a traumatic experience. I was shocked by this because prior to accepting the sit, I specifically asked in one of my questions did Remi have aggressive behavior. Per my request, Sandi sent me a Welcome Guide which did not mention this or disclose this after we chatted via video call. I was assured that Remi is loving -- though not to interact with other dogs and not to take her for car rides to explore. I was NOT aware of her high prey drive. And when I phoned Sandi of what had happened-- although apologetic, she said that "Remi had caught prey 3 times before." When I suggested to prevent this from happening again by taking Remi on a leash in the backyard, Sandi said that "Remi keeps the prey out of her garden." I love all animals and this lack of empathy was disheartening. Also, when I mentioned in my post sit notes that I hurt my hip, no feedback or empathy was given. But she did show concern for landfills for using biodegradable bags instead of shopping bags.

I love taking dogs for walks to relax—not to be pulled about because the dog is constantly looking / sniffing for prey. Remi is very sweet natured, loving and playful inside, but once she is outside, just be careful of her wanting to chase animals.

Had the pet parents been forthcoming about Remi's high prey instincts, I could have made an informed decision whether to accept this sit --as this is critical and impertinent information for a sitter.

The hosts did show hospitality and made me feel welcome which was greatly appreciated.

This was my first housesit through THS, and it will be a very tough one to beat, if at all possible. Patrick’s place is lovely and in a great location, close to two train stations, which makes for an easy transfer into central London. Ted is the very best! He is just so sweet, cuddly, and even more adorable. He’s easygoing and well trained too! I kept up with his routine and got to meet the little community, including some of Patrick and Ted’s good friends (which ended in drinks at the pub for a Euros game!). I met Patrick before the housesit started and kept in contact easily throughout my stay. As I am in the process of making London my new home, I will absolutely keep in touch with Patrick and Ted. 10/10 would recommend and look forward to the next one :)

Absolutely loved this sit!
Yvonne and Xander had a beautiful and cozy flat in a perfect location in Amsterdam which had all amenities needed within 10 minutes. I was greeted nicely by them and the kitties and was easily and swiftly already on board of the care.
Communication was easy and helpful which made me comfortable. I knew if I had any problem, it would be fixed or helped by them fast.
The beautiful cats Troy and Lycka made this sit go by so fast. They were the highlight and made me comfortable. I fell asleep with both in the bed cuddling each other or me and woke up to their sweet meows reminding me it’s time for breakfast. Wherever I was in the house I was always followed by one or the other like a shadow and I was always happy about that. Also, they really didn’t need much more than food and they were happy.

I would absolutely love to sit again and would recommend this to any animal lover. Wether you like cats or not, Troy and Lycka will make you like them.

Thank you!!

Our stay at Lisa and James's place was absolutely wonderful. Dave, the dog, was such a charming old guy, while Meeko, the cat, was incredibly affectionate and cuddly. Lisa's impeccable taste in interior design made their home feel instantly cozy and inviting.
We want to give our heartfelt thanks for allowing us to stay. Hopefully, we'll have the pleasure of returning someday. Warm regards from Sophia & Simon.

We had a great time at Cila's place!
The cats are adorable! Each one has a particular personality, what makes them unique and super sweet!
Cila made us feel at home and her place has a great location and spectacular views to the old historical village! It was a surprise for us, as this is one of the most active historical villages we have ever met. The locals are very active and helpful and we enjoyed a lot our stay!
We highly recommend Cila's place and her pets!
