Our stay at Gregg & Sarah’s beautiful home was our first Trusted Housesitters experience & they’ve set the bar wonderfully high. With some initial trepidation, we had a FaceTime call with the owners & any worries were immediately put at ease by this incredibly welcoming & warm couple. Gerry, Meg & Prince were decidedly some of the best dog company we’ve had & has given us a newfound appreciation for just how rewarding it is to tend to senior pups. Gerry the lab elder is truly a puppy in the form of an old boy, with a great passion for rolling in the grass, seeking out leftovers & desperately keen for belly rubs & cuddles. Meg is a quiet soul who occasionally graces us with her presence but when she does, you feel all the luckier to be spending time with her. She is loving, gentle and obedient. With some coaxing, she joined us on the sofa which was a rare treat. Prince is a real gentle giant, who eagerly joins Gerry in line for scratches and cuddles. He was a little slow to eat his food but would always get incredibly excited for our daily walks. Prince is an avid sofa dweller who sought out any opportunity to snooze next to us on the sofa while we chilled. As for their home, Sarah & Gregg live in a beautiful 16th century cottage in Thorpe, with an amazing garden (read: sun trap) where we could eat & read in great comfort. It is incredibly calm and serene environment. On S&G’s advice, we checked out the nearby pubs and had a brilliant time. We had lovely chats with the neighbours and felt truly comfortable and relaxed. The home is really well-equipped, with an amazing kitchen that reminded us how much we love cooking. Gregg has a nifty coffee machine which he talked us through & encouraged us to use. The living room has a cracking TV set up with streamer options & a dangerously comfortable sofa. Sarah & Gregg remained on hand for any concerns or queries that came up during our stay but ultimately we both feel incredibly grateful to have been trusted with such a gorgeous home & such wonderful creatures. We left feeling more relaxed & rested than we have done in a long time. A really massive thank you to Sarah, Gregg & the senior pup club. 🐾✨
