Florence and Robert were outstanding sitters. We asked them to arrive a day early as our guests to learn the routine on our farm. In getting to know them we found them to be good hearted, down to earth people with a love of animals and diligent in learning our routines to care for our poultry, cats and dog as well as our garden and orchard. Not a typical or easy sit. We travelled with ease knowing our critters were being well taken care of. Arriving home, the house was very clean and looked well cared for. The animals were healthy as were the garden and orchard. Out pets missed them when they left – our dog stared down the driveway after them until their car was out of sight. It is nice to find sitters we would like to hang out with and we look forward to having them sit for us again.
We had a good stay house-sitting for Verna. The birds were a joy to interact with. Bubu would copy our movements and enjoyed when we interacted with her. The budgies were cute! But you had to be careful when opening the cage as there is one budgie who wants to be an escape artist. We had no problems with feeding the birds, and made sure to talk to them so they would be more comfortable with us being in their space. Coco could be a bit reactive, especially at first, but once she got used to us she settled, and responded well to treats, making it easier to manage her behaviour. She really loves her walks and travels well in the car. The rooftop garden did require a bit of attention, about 30 min of watering per day on non rainy. Verna cares deeply for her plants, and had a bad experience with sitters not caring for the plants at all, killing many of them, so we made sure to give them extra care. The secured parking was very convenient, and the comfortable queen-sized bed made for restful nights.
There are so many wonderful things we could say about Sharon and John's urban farm. They are very kind people who went the extra mile to teach us everything we needed to know ahead of time for a smooth sit. They also made sure everything inside and outside was set up properly so we wouldn't be faced with any issues while they were away. The house and land look even better in person and it was super fun in the winter since you can have a cup of coffee in front of their grand fireplace! It was such a cool experience being able to be in Austin but still feel like you are in the middle of nowhere on a beautiful ranch. All of their animals were amazing to take care of. It was fun getting to know their personalities especially Charlie, the golden doodle. He's fun and affectionate and loves being a member of the team when taking care of the other animals. Triumph and Champagne were super easy to work with and Cafe, the goat, just thinks he is one of the horses which is entertaining on its own. The chickens and rabbits were super cute and easy to look after. Fresh eggs every day is a bonus too! This is a unique experience that you don't want to miss. It's super easy and as a city dweller, you get to have that out-on-the-range dream for a short but sweet time. Thank You!
I had a wonderful time staying at Andrew and Alison's place. Everything was easeful with perfect directions, and I enjoyed filling the space with love and care. Andrew is hilarious and made our interactions fun filled. Alison is a small pet vet and a total sweetheart. Rangie aka Mr. Smooth is a total lover and gives constant hugs - whether you are standing up or laying down and is obsessed with playing catch, chasing his toys and going on walks in the neighborhood. Kallie is more mild mannered and is sweet, calm and easy going. Juicy Fruit is the cutest little cat with big ole eyes that stare into your heart and soul and she likes being carried around like a lil baby. Sushi the Abyssinian hairless cat is quirky, sweet, playful and fun and likes to be part of the party. Monty python is one low key reptile and basically only needed water. P.S. The crabs make this zoo fam complete. I am excited to meet Waffles (their new addition) next time. I would recommend this house and animal-friend sit to anyone...the only problem I had was choosing who I wanted to cuddle in bed with so I finally agreed on a ginormous cuddle puddle.
Kris was a fantastic host. Very friendly and welcoming. Her house is fantastic but the best thing about it was Bailey. The cutest good boy there is. So well behaved, loving, energetic, relaxed and just adorable. It was pleasure for us to be 4 weeks in this wonderful housesit. We wishes you all the best and we hope to see you and bailey again one day.
Kaili was a fantastic host. She explained everything that Wally & Gino needed, plus all the instructions to the apartment. She was available to answer any questions that I had about the boys. Her apartment was clean, cozy, and very comfortable with amazing panoramic rooftop views of San Diego. Wally and Gino were wonderful kits. They are very sweet, friendly, and cuddly cats. I felt instantly accepted after Wally let me rub his belly. This was my first cat sit and had the best time with the kits at Kaili's place. I would definitely watch them again. Miss their cute faces already. Thanks again Kaili, Wally & Gino.
What a wonderful sit. Noodle and Dumpling were great kitties. A little cautious of us at first but we were fast friends before the end of the sit. Kimberly has a very lovely home in a great part of New York. Kimberly was very quick to answer any questions I had about anything. She gave us great suggestions on where to eat and places to visit in her neighborhood. Definitely a plus sit if you have the opportunity to get to sit for the kitties and Kimberly.
