Dog Sitters in Lyons, NJ

Lisa has become not just the favorite sitter for shadow but also a friend. She is trustworthy, detail oriented, and thoughtful. Thank you for taking such great care of Shadow and my home.

First and foremost, the cats are happy and healthy which is really the main priority. She seemed to enjoy the space and the cats & was reliable. She had cleaned the sheets and towels prior to leaving. That being said, I was slightly disappointed with the communication and state of my home upon my return. The space was not as clean as I left it which is added stress after working a full day and traveling home. The communication was a bit much for me as I look for self sufficient sitters as I am not on my phone frequently especially with this trip/time difference. Both are a first for me on this platform so will make me have better departure expectations and questions to ask a potential sitter. I hope this is something that she can implement for the next stay.

She was great to work with & took lovely care of my home, cat & chickens. We were very pleased.

Kendal was wonderful to have sit!! She was responsive/communicative during her stay and my kitties were so loved and well cared for. My apartment was cared for and nice and tidy when I arrived home. I would welcome Kendal back to my home for another sit in a heartbeat!

Anna was amazing and we would love to have her back. She sent updates about the pets daily and gave them lots of love. She left our house in perfect condition.

This was a couple/family. That was absolutely delightful to work with. I would not only invite them back to my home to pet sit but also if they were in the area, I would welcome them to contact me if they needed a place to stay. They were kind, they were tidy, they were proactive and loving toward the dogs always thinking about what they could do, above and beyond. They took care of my home, as well as or better than I do myself and I never had any concerns. My dogs are very needy, they are loving, but very very wanting of attention and affection, and this family did not seem to mind at all and lavished them with everything that they could possibly want. I can't say enough good about this whole family, and I would highly recommend them, and definitely offer them the opportunity first again in the future any time they are in the area.

We were fortunate that Marcia was able to come the evening before we left so we could introduce her to Bella who is very protective. Within the first hour Marcia and Bella had bonded. We would recommend her and welcome her back.

Kate was a wonderful house sitter. Communication was excellent and she took great care of our two cats. She sent an occasional picture as she go to know them. The house was clean and everything was in place when we returned. We'd have her back anytime!

Renata was responsive, and seemed to follow all our instructions. She sent lots of pictures, and left our place very clean and tidy! We are super happy to have met her.

The girls were amazing. Our place was left super tidy and clean. They were 100% self-sufficient and organised, especially taking into account that there were record-breaking floods in Vienna during their stay! We were nervous and worried about leaving them with auch big responsibility during these difficult times, but they did perfectly! Even managed to get Chula to go to the loo in the rain (which even we struggle with!), impressive. They are both super sweet, and our babies fell in love with them instantly (I think the love was mutual:) ). They took Chula for a walk in the vinyards, and we got plenty of pictures too! Getting silly picture updates from them was out highlight, and we thank them for making our time away enjoyable. Thank you, ladies!! Hope your travels go far and we wish you all the best! Maybe we will come visit you one day :)

Patricia (and her son) were wonderful sitters for Odis. Patricia was very communicative about her timing and availability, and very flexible to meet our travel schedule (including arriving very early before our flight to be able to meet our anxious dog before we left!). It was clear that Odis was very comfortable with her from the start and she had no issues with taking care of a big dog. She asked all the right questions and made sure she was prepared. She sent notes about very 24 hours to check in and let us know all was well, which we appreciated. Patricia left our home spotless as well. We’d love to have Patricia back in the future.

Shawn and Jennifer were the perfect pet sitters! We could not have wished for better people to look after Salt and Pepa! Not only were they meticulous in keeping up the cat`s routines, nurturing S&P`s idiosyncracies, and keeping them clean, fed, and happy in general, but they went above and beyond finding out what else they could want or need in a truly empathetic way. Shawn and Jen taught them new tricks, played with them often, stayed in with them most of the time and observed them and their characters so well, that it seemed after only a few days like they have known - and loved! - the cats for some time. Before we knew these sympathetic brilliant sitters with heart, brains, and instinct we were nervous about leaving our not even 2 year old cats with strangers for more than a month, especially since Salt can be a fragile soul who is very shy and needs a lot of time to bond with people if she does it at all. Not with these two people. They know how to handle cats professionally. Instead of overwhelming them, Shawn is present and offers them attention and playtime. We were able to fully enjoy our time away from home since they were communicating extremely well and in the frequency we agreed on. So we got pictures or videos of S&P every day and reports. The reports as well as the pics showed us that S&P had an extremely good time, and that after only a few days they behaved completely "normal", i.e. we recognized "our" cats from the way that Jen described them and photographed them. Shawn and Jen are both extremely reliable, down-to-earth and self-sufficient. IF there would have been an emergency, we could not have asked for better guardians. The welfare of the cats was always their first concern. What more can we say but that they are also very friendly, humorous, calm and intelligent human beings. When we came home S&P were like: "Oh.. you..? Ok.. But were are the other two?" In our living room was a carefully arranged series of printed out photographs by Jen the excellent photographer. We are so very thankful to Shawn and Jen that they agreed to look after our kitties - and our home, which they also did without fail - and we are truly happy to have made their acquaintance. Hopefully, we will meet again!
