Khalyani
My partner and I looked after Eva for 5 nights. We stayed a night before at the request of Khalyani and her family, while it wasn’t our preference— in hindsight it was helpful in allowing Eva to get comfortable with us, as she can be naturally wary.

We found that the best way to interact with Eva was to let her come to us and initiate contact, such as lying on our laps or curling up beside us. We were mindful of her boundaries and avoided sudden movements or excessive petting, which would sometimes elicit a gentle growl or snarl.

Eva is a vocal dog who barks frequently indoors, often in response to unexpected noises or cars driving by. The house's proximity to the main road and parking area behind the house made it challenging to minimize these distractions. Additionally, she would sometimes bark at the back window for reasons only known to Eva :)

We took Eva on multiple daily walks, and she was mostly fine once off main roads, but otherwise she is very reactive to passing cars and other dogs passing too, and treats didn’t offer much distraction.

One important detail that we would have appreciated knowing before our stay was that the house has three security cameras installed in common areas (kitchen, hallways etc). While they are intended for security purposes, we felt uncomfortable knowing that we were being monitored and it was difficult to address while in situ.

Kay
Kay’s listing is exactly as described and she herself is a welcoming and engaging host. It was a pleasure being a guest in her home and getting to know her and Mitzy. I would be happy to return and recommend to other sitters without hesitation!

Anna
Cleo the cat was inquisitive, playful and dynamic! It was lovely bonding with her through hide and seek, cat toys, cuddles and treats! She is self-sufficient and well loved by Anna. Anna is down to earth, friendly and honest. The apartment is modern, comfortable and in a great location of Albert Park. Any future sitters would find this sit very enjoyable!

Sarah
My partner and I had a great time housesitting for Sarah and her family in Alderley Edge. Charlie the cat is a delightful, friendly and sometimes vocal guy who loved hanging out with us, sunbathing and dashing around the garden. He was easy to look after and slept cosily on our bed almost every night. The chickens were also a lot of fun, with a simple routine and plenty of delicious eggs in return! They could be a little difficult to put away in their coop before dark but were happy to be scooped up into it once they had settled for the night.

The house is gorgeous, with lots of space for working, relaxing and exercising, and only 5 minutes' walk to the main road with shops and cafes. You can also walk up to the Edge in about 20-25 minutes where there are lots of paths, an ice cream van and a lovely tea room.

Sarah was welcoming, kind, and available when we had questions. We enjoyed sending pics of Charlie enjoying the sunny garden. I recommend this sit!

David
Chucha is such a sweetie pie and I loved being her companion for a week! David and Sasha were easy to communicate with, clear about Chucha’s quirks and needs, and they set me up with everything I needed to make caring for Chucha feel effortless. They were incredibly laid back and welcoming, greeting with the first night with a steak dinner! Their home is easily one of the most beautiful homes I’ve spent time in, they have incredible taste and I felt so inspired being there surrounded by the beauty of their decor, gardens, objects. I felt like I was at a retreat. I miss Chucha already, I hope to come back again and hang out with her!

Lisa
Lisa and Ian are excellent hosts with a lovely home and garden. The house is in a little village to the east of Bedford, with pub close by and good walks from the door. Their two spaniels, Angus & Jura are young, fit, gentle and very well tempered; very easy to like. Both are inquisitive when exploring outside on walks and independently minded, with good recall on the whistle. Worth a bit of practice and reinforcement from the start so they get to know you, and you them. The two cats, Dougal & Monty are quiet and very easy to look after. Dougal is reserved and generally keeps himself to himself, and Monty is a bit more forthcoming. All enjoy some attention and a gentle grooming, but the dogs have brilliant personalities, love interaction and are great for cuddles.
