Andrea was super friendly and managed to navigate her stay despite our information videos on WhatsApp not getting through to her! She left the house clean and tidy and our whippet was well fed and cared for.
I enjoyed my 4-5 days there with the animals and in the location, which is scenic and peaceful. It took me a day or two to fully get used to dynamic there regarding the three animals as the two cats don't get on but once I saw how to deal with it, it was simple stuff and not much of a problem at all. The dog, Lou, is a loveable lump, Müüsli (my favourite) is a cautious cat at first but so friendly and endearing once she gets comfortable with you, and Barley is a bit crazy and cheeky, but she's fine once kept away from Müüsli. The chickens are no hassle at all to look after and gave me 5 eggs while I was there! Martina and Steve are two lovely, friendly people, who couldn't have been more accommodating and inviting. Some of the nicest hosts I've had. They were always responsive, patient and easygoing. My room was cozy, the bed was comfortable and the house and grounds made for great environment to be in. This is the perfect stay for anyone who wants a bit of escapism. Fully recommended.
To say I had a great time at Shannon & Lauren's place is an understatement. My stay here was my first sit via TrustedHousesitters, and I feel like I hit the jackpot. Let's start with the real highlight: Riley! She is such an incredible dog. While she was a bit skeptical of me at first, Riley determined we could be best friends after a few hours. Playing with her ball and her duck definitely helped. She was super chill and great on our multiple walks every day. Riley was also a great cuddler on the few days it was a bit gloomy outside or when it was just a time to chillax. She is such a great listener and we became BFFs. Now to the home, which is spectacular. I loved cooking in the kitchen, which had everything I needed. The acoustics with the sound system was amazing. For me though, the best part of the home is the back patio overlooking the valley below. I admit, I took several naps out there and enjoyed the hot tub after some of the hikes around the area (which there are tons around here and plenty to explore). I had great communication with Shannon & Lauren. They were open to my questions and had great recommendations of things to do and places to eat when I didn't cook. I really had the best time and feel like I got spoiled. I'm looking forward to hopefully returning one day!
Great communication with Charmaine with everything needed to watch after the cutie Monkii! The home was perfectly equipped and located. I'm happy I had the opportunity!
I had wondeful time looking after Ming and Yara in Min Buri (East of Bangkok). This one of the easiest sits I have done, as both the mutts are good company, and are very easy to look after. All that is required is a 1 minute stroll to the lake, and simply let them potter around ( do keep your eyes open for the monitor lizards, as they are quite large). I took the dogs for their exercise first thing in the morning, and just after 5pm when it was nice and cool, with a quick pee break just before bedtime. A good Thai market is close by so you can buy all of your local street food and fruit and vegetables. I also met with Hannah and Sebastian very briefly, and they explained everything that needed to be done, and that it was so easy to look after the pets ( including Larry) and their home. They were not exaggerating, this is nice and relaxing housesit, and I had a fantastic time looking after everybody. So will you!
We absolutely loved this sit. Lucy made us feel so welcome and gave a smooth organised handover. She even bought some beautiful flowers for the kitchen/bedroom. Lovely extra touch. Snoop and Salty are such characters. They have the best life. It was a joy to see. So much space to runaround in and out of the house. There are some amazing walks in the woods about 4 mins drive away and some super local walks on the door step. The house is stunning, we stayed in a huge bedroom, great views and a fantastic large TV with quality surround system. We highly recommend this sit. Lucy and Jake were so hospitable, great to communicate with and we adored the house and doggies 😀
Geraldine and her husband are the sweetest Irish couple!!! I've gained a new adopted aunt and uncle. To start, she offered to pick me up from where I was previously sitting and cooked a delicious dinner to welcome me (I hope I'm not leaving high expectations now, Geraldine!). Her fur and feather babies also welcomed me, a very interesting fun bunch! DOGS: - GUINNESS: DO NOT look him directly in the eyes.. you'll fall in love and will forget about anything bad he may have done. Oh he just has the most precious look and smile and LOVES cuddling. Everytime I sat down, he instantly would approach me and rub his nose against my hand so I could pet him. If you don't keep an eye on him when he's in the backyard, he will escape but besides that, he's a very very obedient and calm down. - LUNA: Oh boy. Just as Geraldine likes to describe her, she's pretty much a rebel teenager. Very sweet and not at all dangerous dog, BUT don't be fooled by her cute stare. She will bark at anything and listen to you when she wants to. The walks with them in the evening were nice as they would always be obedient when I let them off the leash to roam in the beautiful fields up the mountain and would return to me when they got tired. And they're so well trained when it comes to their feeding time - as long as you tell them to wait, they will anxiously sit there until you serve them their food. BIRDS: - COCO: super sweet cutie and loves water!!! I've never had to fill up water for a bird so quickly. - PACO: get ready to be entertained with a talker! I'll admit, there was a day I got scared thinking a man had sneaked in but it was Paco talking 😂 ... And as for the view from the home... My goodness I loved to start and end my days with the gorgeous view of Mont Blanc and all the greenery surrounding the area. Geraldine was kind enough to show me around the area, present me to some of her friends in case I needed anything and when she returned, we went for a super nice swim in the lake. Thank you Geraldine, Declan and fur/feather babies for trusting me and allowing me to experience your lovely home!
