This was a really wonderful and precious dogsit. Sesame is such a pleasure to take care of. I totally fell in love. I don't think I've ever experienced a better-behaved dog. She is so easy and adorable, never made a fuss at home, and would just sit or sleep near you, occasionally staring at you with the cutest face that will melt you and make your day every time you look at her. Walking her was easy. She is a lady on a mission on the streets, enjoying all the smells of the Berlin parks, and I found some really gorgeous spots just over the bridge from the apartment that I recommend. Caroline and Liam are fantastic hosts and great, interesting people. I had loads of travel delays on my day of arrival and didn't get to their apartment until late in the evening. They had prepared some pasta for me to take back to my hotel to make sure I got some dinner. This kind of thoughtfulness tells you everything you need to know about them as people. The apartment is great, with excellent transport links. I work from home, and it was a really great space to work from with loads of desk space. And finally, Berlin is Berlin - gorgeous neighbours, fascinating history everywhere. A dream dogsit. Thank you Caroline, Liam and Sesame for a wonderful time.
Dexter is a dream..he’s funny, chatty, cuddly and loves his sleeps and some playtime. We loved hanging out with him and whilst he took a day to warm up and get comfortable with us, once that passed he was with us most the day. Laurie and Chuck are great, perfect communication from the start and they gave us so much valuable information to make it a dream sit. It's abundantly clear how much they care about Dexter and that care extends to them doing whatever it takes to ensure that their sitter is prepared for them to be comfortable during their absence. We were able to meet face to face prior to the house-sit which meant we could get to know Dexter and the area before they left on their holiday. Oviedo is a fantastic place. It's a very walkable city with plenty to see. Grocery stores, restaurants, bars, amazing walks and pretty much anything else you'd want is within walking distance. We would strongly recommend housesitting for Laurie, Chuck and Dexter, If you're lucky enough to get the chance, take it!
It’s been a pleasure to sit Balou and Lupa at Patrick and Lucienne’s house! Balou and Lupa got used to me in 2 days and they are friendly and well behaving dogs. There is a large green area behind the house where we went for very pleasant walks three times a day and when the weather is nice I spent most of my time in the garden. Patrick and Lucienne were very nice and welcoming and they made sure I have a smooth sit with their furry friends. I felt relaxed and spent good time in this small village near Venlo. Definitely recommended. Thanks once more for everything Lucienne and Patrick, hope to see you again!
I was recently looking after the cute labrador Maavi for Rakesh for a few days in Manly. Maavi is a very friendly, happy, and cuddly big pup, and quite easy to take care of. He really enjoys cuddles and belly rubs, and would sleep in bed with me most of the nights. :) Maavi loves his walkies, in particular his visits to the dog park just across the road of the apartment building where he's living. He's very friendly with humans and other dogs - he loves to play with them as well as fetching the ball. Maavi's owner Rakesh is a friendly and easy-going 'surfer guy', and our communication before, during (and even after) the house sit was always timely and perfect. Furthermore, he lives in a nice apartment in a great location in Manly, with public transport (bus stops and ferry terminal) as well as the beach and local town centre all in walking distance. His place itself is nice and cozy, and has all amenities one could ask for including reliable wifi, a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine, a large comfy bed, TV with Netflix, etc. :) All in all, a great house sit, and if you (fellow house sitters) get the chance to look after Maavi don't think twice! Thank you for such a nice experience, Rakesh, I'll always be happy to return and look after Maavi again should there be a possibility in the future! :)
Maha and Carl were kind enough to share their bright and cozy home with us at the tail end of winter. A typical day involved waking up to a nose bump from a very warm-hearted and well-behaved dog named Boomer, wanting to be let out to patrol the grounds. We’d make some breakfast in the spacious kitchen then stare out at the water, taking in the sights: trees, wildlife, and glimpses of the two playful cats. The internet connection was solid. And the large windows let in enough light that I was able to shake my winter blues. If you are an outdoorsy person, the surrounding property is worth exploring, and Boomer may even join you. We appreciate the opportunity from Maha and Carl to care for their corner of the world for two weeks. For those who are interested in this stay, we recommend bringing some library books, some hiking boots or a yoga mat, or whatever you need to feel comfortable and productive in a remote location. This was our plan and in being prepared for isolation, it became a positive. Note: There are grocery stores, liquor stores, and a library close by (if you have a car… which everyone taking this housesit should have). If you are curious about other details of the property, ask Maha as she stays in communication quite often during the stay (and in the preparative period before).
Wonderful stay - lovely pets for company and sweet area of Tacome. Highly recommend.
