Idyllic rural Vermont house sit! The wood burning fireplace made this an especially cozy stay. Pets were loving with clear care instructions provided by the hosts. Airbnb attached to home with all related responsibilities taken care of by the host. Great communication and highly responsive for any questions that came up.
This was my first housesit with TrustedHousesitters and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Molly and Mischa are very sweet and curious kitties but take some time to warm up. However, after a day, we soon discovered their new favorite toy - a shoestring! After that, they were happy to accept pets from me and would sometimes follow me around the house. However, for the most part, they like to keep to themselves and hang out with each other. Jane and Mitchell were very gracious hosts. They left a book of clear instructions making it extremely easy to sit. They also have the most BEAUTIFUL home in a very safe neighborhood. They have a very big garden in the front and back, and I very much enjoyed sitting outside and hanging out in the sun on the porch swing! And there's a ton of natural lighting and plants in the house - truly an oasis in Palo Alto. I would gladly sit for Jane and Mitchell again and would recommend it to anyone if you have the chance.
Karen and Darren are perfect hosts who are well used to having sitters and have their home and cats ready for the experience. We had the luck to have them as our first sit and they were very communicative and understanding even when we had an unavoidable delay in arriving. They even had some food and treats to welcome us. The cats ( Sasha and Hans Otto)are lovely little characters who were good company and easy to care for with clear instructions. Forchheim is a gem of a place which looks straight out of a movie and Karen and Darren’s house was in a central and location and very cosy and comfortable (that bed!)for us. Try the pistachio gelato from buonissimo but be warned it’s addictive!
I had a great time looking after Honey! Janja's place was spotless and so spacious, making the whole stay super comfy. Honey is a very sweet and friendly cat, super easy to take care of. She is quite independent but enjoys cuddling on her own terms. Janja gave me clear instructions and made sure everything was sorted before I got there. Overall, it was an awesome experience. Thanks, Janja, for letting me hang out with Honey. See you soon!
Five stars for this sit, in Fiona and Stephen's spacious, comfortable, well-equipped home. The dogs were easy to look after and both lovely souls. Safi enjoyed her walks up the hills and down to the river, and was always up for a ball game. Kiwi was happy to stroll around the grounds, and enjoyed a couple of little walks round the village. Percy the peacock is utterly beautiful and easy to look after. Seeing him fly up to roost is quite something! We were offered cycling and tennis, though the weather sadly wasn't conducive during our stay. We enjoyed a couple of trips to the amazing Yellow Deli cafe in Honiton, with its beautiful craftsmanship and superb food. A highly recommended sit.
Char and Bill's place is very comfortable, super well equipped, and very thoughtfully organized. Once you get the hang of the barn chores (which Char will walk you through and leave clear instructions) they are very straightforward. Apollo is a super sweet and polite older fellow who is living his best life lounging in sunny spots and happily going for a walk whenever you want to. Speaking of walking, this is a very nice and peaceful area to do so not too far outside the Twin Cities. Highly recommend!
