I had a wonderful time looking after Basil, Edie and Scrumpy! Each of them has a different personality: Basil and Scrumpy are more laid back but Edie wants to keep you company at all times. She greeted me joyfully each time I entered the room and sat on my lap when I was working on my laptop. The dogs are great company for long walks in the area - and the surroundings are beautiful. Idyllic English countryside, just as I imagined it or maybe even better. Sarah and Gerald made me feel very welcome from the beginning and we still keep in touch which is so nice! The house is extremely comfortable and warm, kitchen equipped with everything you could possibly imagine (it was the first time I had a chance to use the AGA and of course I started dreaming about having one someday). Looking after the chickens is super easy and in exchange you get a supply of delicious, freshly laid eggs. The garden is absolutely stunning, I hope to see it in the summer one day. Thank you so much Sarah and Gerald for having me!
I went to meet Georgios & his girlfriend a few days before the sit. They were very welcoming and friendly and explained everything I needed to know. Farfalla is a sweet and energetic dog. She was a great cuddle buddy in the evenings and enjoyed hanging out with me on the couch. I found her challenging to walk as she is untrained and thus pulls on the leash and always looks for something to eat off the floor. Georgios was very communicative throughout the stay and answered any questions (or worries!) I had super quickly. That was great. The apartment is very cozy and comfortable, with a guest bedroom which I was able to use.
Cherie and David made our 6pack sit as a 5 star holiday in their fantastic house with any comfort you can imagine. They were extremely welcoming, super organised, they even prepared a delicious Caesar salad to welcome us. They ordered food boxes for us, so we needn’t go to the supermarket- and on top all the meals tasted deliciously and were healthy too. Fridge and deep freezer were filled up, an espresso machine made a tasty morning coffee, in the evening we enjoyed best quality New Zealand wine and beer . They left us their car so we could do little excursions in the area which is really a visit worth. And the absolutely best and the most wonderful highlight was, that we were allowed to stay in their beach house, their little paradise. It’s heaven on earth and words can’t describe how beautiful it is to sit on the terrace and watch the Pacific and there are just the noises of waves and birds. And last but not least we don’t want to forget these 6 nice, little dogs. They were so friendly, adorable and had very different and individual characters. Bruno - boisterous Luis - devoted and always friendly Stella - energetic and agile Lani - understanding and independent Finty - slow, quiet and a reserved nature Bella - shy, and has her own head In the evenings they joined us on the sofa and let us feel warm and comfortable. We don’t find better words in English. We are so thankful and their hospitality is incredible. Cherie and David are like old friends and we hope to return one day their hospitality in Germany. Annette and Bärbel from Germany
Liza and David welcomed us so graciously. We loved being able to housesit for them and loved their dog even more! Occamy is the sweetest little guy, so calm and easy to hang out with! Even with a significant time difference, Liza was so easy to chat with whenever necessary. We’re so happy to have been able to meet them. Would absolutely recommend sitting for them. Also, if you’re considering visiting Bend, you should, it’s lovely. :)
We loved spending time with Penny who is the most relaxed, cuddly and friendly dog. Tasha sent a really thorough welcome guide to make sure we knew exactly what we were doing and was really responsive with any questions we had. Her home was in the most lovely location and we enjoyed watching the sunrise and sunset across the countryside nearby. We enjoyed looking after Tasha's lovely chickens too. :) We'd always be happy to help in the future if we're available. Thanks for letting us spend time with Penny and the chickens. Anna and Josh are super kind and generous people! It was a great pleasure to look after Blossom and Damson and to stay in their beautiful home. The cats are very sweet and absolutely easy going. We got on very well and quickly became close. I would be very happy to come back any time a sitter is needed.
