Melissa was a truly wonderful housesitter. So warm, friendly, and thorough. I had a long trip for this sit--and I never worried once. She sent pics of my cat every day and left the house in utterly pristine condition. My kitty was so well taken care of, even though he has some food issues--she lovingly helped him with his food pickiness. He was very relaxed and happy when I got home. She cuddled him and let him sit on her lap, and played with him. I know he misses her! Thank you Melissa for the great sit--Olaf and I truly appreciate it!
I had a great stay with Zoe, Peko and Ollie. They are very sweet pups and overall very easy to care for. Poor Ollie is growing old and has some special needs. But Sandra was very intentional about going over everything, and that made the handoff seamless. They also left detailed instructions and ‘human treats’ for me, which was extra nice. Their communication via text/phone while away was very speedy and helpful. The spacious, light-filled house, and serine garden made for a very relaxing setting to hunker down and work on a big project. The quiet stillness of the area was wonderful. I very much enjoyed taking breaks from my work to soak in the hot tub, and go into the VERY cute town of Sebastopol for some yummy food (This is Foodie Mecca!). The fog and my work kept me from getting to the beach, but I have plans to return again, so I will do that next time. This location, pups, Sandra and Randy are great!
We had a lovely time looking after Daisy, an affectionate elderly Labrador. Cathy & Kim live in a wonderful modern & immaculate house overlooking the tidal estuary across to Rock They are a lovely, considerate couple. The Cornish cream tea & chocolates were very much appreciated.The views were spectacular from the large balcony and the garden was nice to relax in. Padstow Harbour is amazing and only a few minutes walk. Lots to see and do. We took our cycles and found some great rides including the Camel trail & Port Isaac via the ferry. We would 100% recommend this sit. Thank you for our stay.
Russell Finsterwald is adorable. I enjoyed watching him stalk birds and insects from the peaceful patio where other than landscapers and occasional sirens, all I could hear were birds. Pete was responsive but couldn’t help me to get the TV or music to work. The volume on Netflix was too low, on live TV way too loud, and the volume on the remote didn’t work. I couldn’t figure out music either and while normally I don’t mind silence, I would have liked the option this past weekend. Next time I would bring a blue tooth speaker. It’s a very relaxing house. Russell gets up EARLY and wants to eat and go outside so if you’re an early bird this is a great sit for you. The walk to Elysian park is a great scenic walk amongst the stair streets. I’m not sure if Pete and Jill use their dishwasher but I didn’t see dishwasher soap and didn’t want to bother him again as I had already asked so many questions about the TV and if they had a toaster. (they don’t.) It was a nice sit and Pete is kind enough to mail me a few things I left there. I am usually so good about not leaving things and I really appreciate that he is willing to put them in the mail. Let this be a reminder to us sitters to always do a thorough once over before you leave!
I had the loveliest pet sit! Lynda took time to show me the cats' routines and walk me through the apartment. She was always reachable via text and very helpful. She also sent a very detailed guide that pretty much answered any question that could pop up for me. I really appreciated this, especially because this was a bit of a longer stay. Thank you, Lynda <3 Let's talk about the stars of the show, Ramona and Kitty. I'm honestly going to miss them. They were so sweet to me and often cuddled with me on the couch or in bed. Ramona is the more vocal of the two and warmed up to me first. She has a bit of spunk and overall wants your adoration - as she deserves! Kitty took a bit longer to warm up to me but once she did, she just wanted to be snuggled under me. Overall just a good time. I did have to keep a bit of an eye on them, especially around their feeding time, just to make sure they didn't eat each other's food (Ramona has to take medication so I wanted to be mindful). Also, the apartment is such a great space and Lynda went out of her way to add deocrative lights and cozy bedding to make me feel at home. How kind! The area of this sit is ktown/pico-union. It is on the more active side but I really enjoyed the bustle. It is pretty residential and I never felt unsafe in the area. It's in walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores. Very close to a few buses as well that will take you right into DTLA within 20-30 minutes. Very convenient. Overall, 10/10. I had an amazing stay. Kitty and Ramona were the cutest, Lynda was a great host, and the area of the sit is great for visitors. I would happily do this sit again, in a heartbeat <3
We felt so lucky to have sat for Chuck and Nancy. They made us feel right at home and are so welcoming, easy to talk to and just overall fantastic people who cared about our experience. Both Smitty and Daisy are such sweet dogs - we wouldn’t hesitate to care for them again! While Smitty was suspicious of us initially, it took maybe one day before he started coming over for pets. It is so special to win the affection of a rescue dog, and it really touched us to see him open up. He loves his walks, so we became fast friends exploring Salida together! Daisy was our friend right from the start. She’s an absolute love bug and we enjoyed cuddling with her on the couch, playing and just watching her be her little self! Lastly, Chuck and Nancy’s home is nothing short of a retreat. It has everything you could want - comfy bed, fluffy towels, central location, quiet and to top it all off, an incredible hot tub that looks out to the stars! We felt truly blessed to have spent this time in Salida, and we hope to see Daisy, Smitty, Chuck and Nancy again soon!
George and Winston are great to look after, and David and Cindy are amazing people! Safe and quiet neighborhood, and I had a wonderful weekend with the boys. I am looking forward to sitting for them again in a few weeks :)
