David and I clicked on the Zoom interview, but it was not a great fit, ultimately. The pets are fine, so the most important thing is that. And the house is fine. I guess I've been spoiled by great sitters who left our house impeccably clean and communicated daily with pictures and information that clearly indicated they knew our pets well and were taking really good care of them and our house. This seems to be the zeewoi standard. But I had to contact David every time I wanted information. He never contacted us once, although he did respond within the hour when I contacted him. But not a picture. Nothing. He even jokingly complained that our cat wasn't being warm enough to him and he considered himself a cat whisperer and was a little peeved. I laughed along and shrugged it off because he was such a nice guy. But I think he found my detailed instructions too informative? Over the 25 years I've had pet sitters some have joked about my very thorough instructions, but everyone, until David, told me they very much appreciated too much information rather than not enough. It doesn't appear he paid them much attention. He didn't recycle. He didn't take in our mail, several days worth was left sitting in our mailbox, which he explained was because we hadn't explicitly asked him to bring it in. The same was true about sending pics of the animals or communication. If I'd asked he would have, but I didn't, so he didn't. The same went for a package that was delivered the day we came home. It arrived at noon, 5 hours before he left our house, but he just left it outside. He said he figured it "would be fine" out there until we got home. He also left earlier than we'd agreed to over text. It's clear if you read the instructions what time the dogs eat dinner and I told him to please stay until dinner, walk them as instructed and then feed them before he left. He left an hour and a half earlier than that to meet friends at the beach. He also didn't follow the instructions for feeding one of our cats, about not leaving her food out because the dogs would eat it before she got a chance to. He did this at least twice that I know of. There was a coating of sand in the shower. The bed was made-ish. He didn't bother with the wash cloth on the bathroom counter I asked him to use to wipe it down so the poured cement doesn't stain. It was untouched, perfectly folded and the post-it note was still stuck to it . The floor was not swept, lots of fur tumbleweeds, although I'd left the vacuum out. And when I challenged him his response was that, "he was not a professional." Except that this site is based on a pay-based membership and at least I expect professional behavior from the sitters who I entrust with my pets and my house. He was taken aback by my texts challenging him when we got home and had discovered all the above. He said he's received nothing but good reviews before and I have no reason not to believe him. He also said he "probably won't use the app again." He said he was "feeling a little attacked" by my observations, even explaining that he'd been asked back by other sitters, and one even paid him some $, though he hadn't asked for it and never would. I've never ever had anything but great relationships with the sitters I've had in my home, through this site or before over the years. Some were long-term sitters for over a decade. I liked David very much as a person over the phone. I have to say we were not a good match once I came home and saw the lack of attention to our instructions, and that he hadn't cleaned up after himself thoroughly before leaving. Not all fits are good ones. This one wasn't for me., though I wish David the best, as he did me.

Ruoyi was wonderful! She took excellent care of not only Charlie but my plant babies as well. I came home to a clean home, happy cat and even a lovely bouquet of flowers to welcome me home. She was communicative throughout her stay and sent me loads of adorable photos of Charlie. It was such a relief knowing I had someone reliable to watch over everything while I was away!

I had a good time at Katie's home. We didn't get to meet each other in person but we had good communication, she was always responsive to any questions and making sure everything was alright. She provided a welcome guide with all the information I needed for the house and the pets.
It was nice meeting Misha and Rhett. They both welcomed me right away. Misha stays in the master bedroom separate from the rest, she loves to cuddle on your chest and enjoy your company while you are in there with her. Rhett is a sweetheart, he can be a little vocal but just at moments. He loves to cuddle with you to sleep at night. He has some sort of allergies that makes him very congested just like a cold and because of that he got extra love.
The house it's in a great location, at walking distance to Camden Yards, coffee shops and restaurants; the supermarket is just 5 min away, the Inner Harbor just 7 min away. I had to use the street parking parallel to the house but Katie provided me with a parking permit which I do appreciate. Overall, I had a good time. Thank you!

I really enjoyed my month at Lori’s with Boulder and Pepper. Discovering their distinct personalities was so fun! Lori’s also cultivated a really calming environment in her apartment, which I appreciated. I’d welcome the opportunity to sit here again any time!

Geeta is a sweet, gentle Shepard and Anita's home is a jewel, immaculately kept. My older children had a wonderful visit, both with Geeta and the neighborhood children too! I highly recommend and would definitely housesit again :)

Mandy
We enjoyed sitting for Mandy and her fur babies. She kindly took in a lovely kitten who has been abandoned outside her building shortly before our sit so we had the pleasure of looking after Klaus too.

The cats each have their own personalities. Klaus (the kitten) is super energetic and loves to play - he can easily entertain himself for ages but also likes playing with toys and the other cats. Obi took a few days to get used to us and is quite independent. She likes to play too and is adventurous. She climbs on counters and her and Klaus would often run around chasing each other. Gato likes to do his own thing. He loves going for walkies in the corridor (you'll find him leading you to the door or standing by it) and will stand in the kitchen when you're in there waiting for a treat. All together, the three were a easy to look after.

Mandy is a lovely host - we met before the sit so we could familiarise ourselves with her fur babies and home. Her apartment is in a lovely location near Dubai Marina, with great amenities and lots of restaurants, coffee shops and supermarkets close by. There is a tram stop: Mina Seyahi close by too. Mandy was communicative, helpful and answered all our questions.

Above all, we would recommend this sit.
