I had such a great time housesitting for Kathy. The pup is sooo relaxed and easy to care for—just let him hang with you and he'll be happy! He's not needy, though, he just likes to be in the same room. He doesn't need long walks, but loves to accompany in the stroller if you want to go far. The birds were quite easy—Amie the parrot might take his time deciding if he wants to come out of the cage for you, but Chico would likely be a lapdog in another life—he's incredibly sweet and if you're home, he'll like to be on your shoulder. If you're not into that (but hopefully you are if you're considering this sit!), he's happy to sit on the back of the chair. The canary sings the most beautiful song, and together they all can create some incredible words, songs, and other sounds. Very quiet once you're ready to go to bed and cover their cages and they stay quiet pretty much until they hear you're awake. There are some lovely walks in the area, a dog park and grocery within a 5 min drive, and within 15-30 mins *awesome* beaches and nature parks that are worth the drive. Bed was comfortable (Freddie is a GREAT sleeper, too—he prefers to share the bed but he doesn't move and will likely want to sleep longer than you—ha!), pool and jacuzzi were a dream, and I had everything I needed!

This is my go to, local, dog boarding spot whenever I have to travel -- from 2 days to 2 weeks. All of the staff is incredibly kind, accommodating and helpful! They're also amazing with the dogs. My dog is 10yo rescue with some anxiety and behavioral challenges and they've always said he's just great and does so well here. I would gladly trust them with my dog or any future pets.

Ohana Animal Inn is such a sweet & loving place to leave our sweet baby girl. She loves it so much that she practically jumps our of the car before we park! She loves hugs from Chris the owner & Francis her caregiver. When we pick her up she is bathed along with her bedding. She loves to play with Oreo, Chris's dog too. We enjoy ourselves away knowing she is well cared for & loved. We recommend them hands down for superb care of your fur baby while you are away!
Our two boys love staying here where Chris and his staff is very friendly. They get to stay outside and play during the day and that's exactly what they love doing. They seem well cared for when we pick them up.

I recently picked up my dog from there and he had an injury to his foot and looked very thin. Could of been to his longer than usual stay but when he boarded in Kahului he was fine when we got him back. They didn't say anything about him when I picked him up. He acts and seems normal otherwise.

I cannot recommend Heidi and her team enough at Don't Sweat I Got Your Pet. Marci, took care of our eight cats while we were traveling. She went above and beyond to give our kitties love and kindness and made sure they got their meals on time every day. The portal is super easy to use to keep visits and communications in an organized manner, and Marci was always very responsive and accommodating. I loved getting a report after each visit with pictures and video... specially while being far away in another country and missing my babies. Thank you so much, Heidi, for putting together such a helpful service for us pet owners and for always being so kind and loving towards our babies. It really shows!!
OMG. Best pet sitting service. They care so much and one time went out of their way to take my baby kitten to the vet because he was looking a little sick and they didn’t want him to suffer until I got back. Love the thorough emails and the thoughtfulness involved in. It only caring for your pets but your home.
Heidi and her team took wonderful care of my two cats. Marci and Kate would visit with the cats and gain their trust so they got lots of pets and love. I got a report card each day with how the cats did along with pictures. I would absolutely recommend them

Heidi and her team at Don’t Sweat, I’ve Got Your Pet helped me rest easy and focus on long work days for weeks. They have a great team of different folks who assisted in caring for our two dogs when we needed in home care. Our Chihuahua mix is a tough one to win over but he quickly fell in love with all 3 care takers. Our Catahoula mix is really tough on leash and Kate gave him all the grace and redirection he needed to walk successfully during her visits. I truly was able to keep my mind focused on traveling and work and didn’t have to stress about my fur babies as I knew they were in the caring hand of the folks at Don’t Sweat, I’ve Got Your Pet.

We are so glad that we have Heidi as our pet sitter. She is extremely reliable and we completely trust her coming to our home when we are gone. She is an excellent communicator and keeps us updated daily, including photos of our pets. What really makes her special is that she provides compassionate care. We recently had an older rabbit who was not doing very well and Heidi fed her, held her, and washed her every morning and evening. She even took her home with her to be able to provide her with better and more frequent care. We couldn’t be happier with Heidi and her services.
We went to the mainland for 5 days, and we wanted to make sure our fur babies were kept on a consistent schedule while we were gone. I reached out to Heidi, who immediately connected us to Marci. Marci came over for a meet and greet a couple weeks before we left, and she was so good with the animals. She asked where we kept food, treats, toys, etc and was extremely kind! After we left, not only did she do an excellent job caring for them, but she sent us 2 updates per day detailing everything she did for the animals according to the instructions we left. She sent so many cute pictures, and it gave immense peace of mind to know they were happy and well taken care of. Not only that, but our home&backyard were spotless upon returning. It was worth every penny! We will be hiring Don’t Sweat I Got Your Pet from now on!

Melissa is wonderful! From our first conversation I knew she was the right person to train our dogs and to help our family. We have had dogs for many years and loved and enjoyed them but have struggled as well. Our current dogs (4year old Aussie and 1 year old hound mix) were showing signs of aggression towards each other, the Aussie convinced she was the boss and our hound with what we know now is anticipation anxiety. We were ready for a change for all of us and I don’t believe anyone but Melissa could have or would have done the work that my dogs required. Melissa is so passionate and committed to improving the dogs life and your relationship with your dog. She is knowledgeable and creative with her approach. She never gives up no matter the challenge and has been there for support once the dogs came home. We are all forever grateful 🐶
Everything written by other reviewers is true. I adopted a 3 year old Australian Shepherd who despite being a very loving dog toward me, was aggressive to and had bitten three visitors to my house. Despite many years of owning and successfully training dogs through obedience and agility, I realized that I was facing something beyond my experience. My dog spent nearly nine weeks with my boy and he came home a much different guy. Melissa made sure that I got trained to reinforce her training and I am so impressed by her dedication and commitment to dogs. My understanding of dog psychology is forever changed. I am grateful that I met her and my boy got a great foundation from her.
First and foremost, I want to say Melissa saved our lives. My parents had to sell their house last minute and I had 2 dogs to take care of. All places on Maui were all booked to house my pups. On the last few days before we had nothing else to do, she came to our rescue!! She was very respectful of our situation and went out her way to make sure she took care of them. She was able to make my dogs fly to Missouri in the nick of time. Without her we would LITERALLY be in shambles. Melissa is the type of person who really cares. I recommend her because she is amazing. Because of her, life is great and my pups are now in MO. Me and my family appreciate her for what she has done in our lives. And I wish all the blessings on her life.
Our Australian Shepherd was almost a year old, and was out of control, he got to a point where he did not listen, jumped on people, pulled us on walks, and would get angry if we didn’t let him see other dogs to a point he would bite at leash. We were referred to Melissa by the family who owned our dogs mom. They gave her amazing reviews so we went in with open minds and trusted her training style. I have now had my dog back for a week… and I am in amazement at the transformation… he is a new dog! He is so good, wants to please, is happy, calm, relaxed, and just a great dog! I can’t thank her enough for everything she did and for not giving up when the training was tough at first. Melissa is truly the best! Of course, you have to continue the training and steps the dog learned in training… if you don’t you won’t have the same long term results. But I can already tell that if I keep up the steps already learned as second nature and make them habits, that my dog will have a great stress free life and I will be a much happier dog owner. I am grateful for her training, blessed to have my dog happy and stress free, and the ability to challenge my dog in more effective and productive ways. Thank you Melissa for all you do, through the hard times and frustration… you stay at it and really do so much more than any other place would have. Our experience with Melissa was nothing short of amazing. She’s extremely knowledgeable about dogs and their behaviors. Whenever I have a question or need advice, she is always there to help!! Our dog spent three weeks with her and he is a changed pup! (For the good!). His mind and evergy were always in high rev! He was never able to just CHILL! He has now learned how to be in a calm state of mind. She has been a life saver for our family, as he was getting very difficult to manage out in public and around others who are not a part of our immediate family. We just wanted to be able to live our lives….with our dog (since he is part of our family)!! He is now able to be a part of our family at all times…and we are forever grateful!
I have two HUGE wolfhounds. They were always very good with me at home, but I made the mistake of not socializing or professionally training them when they were young. I could not bring them anywhere with me. They would drag me drown the street if they saw another dog, person, vehicle, etc. My male was very anxious and my female IS very bullheaded. A couple years ago my roommates dog started attacking my male. It got to the point that he learned he could bite back- not good when most dogs heads fit inside his. I found Melissa and got a good feeling so I called her up. After going through the board and train process, my dogs are amazing. And when she brought them home… she trained me too!! Not gonna lie, they slip a little when I do, but they pick their good habits back up just as fast. I now bring my dogs everywhere with me and most of the time, they are able to be off-leash. Maybe you’ve seen us at the beach? We’re kind of hard to miss 😉 Training with Melissa changed our lives for the better and my dogs love her as much as I do.
Melissa has so much experience with dogs and utilized all of it for our dog Lucy. She said she was the toughest dog she had ever trained and I believe her. But she never gave up and even took her for an extra week just to ensure she was good to come home. It’s been a struggle learning so much and training our own dog but Melissa has been there with us every step of the way. Lucy has lost so much of her anxiety and is so much better behaved than she was before, the difference is stunning and I’m so grateful for the change. If you have a dog I would highly recommend The Nomadic Canine, it is definitely worth it.
Melissa is amazing! She has never met my dog and all we have done was phone consults. I took her advice for anything I needed work on and her advice works wonders. She is always there if I ever needed help on anything or wanted to try a different approach on training. My dog is a mini doodle and was not crate trained. When I first got her she was very hyper, jumping all over people or the furniture, tries to steal food from your plate. She has a record of being a door bolter so we are currently working on that. Basically didn’t have any discipline or manners. I knew basic work but Melissa tuned me up too, not just Panda. For example, I wanted to be able to put her in the crate if I needed to run errands or go out for a short time. She would bark literally for 4 hours straight. After talking with Melissa and taking her advice… not one sound. She is a saint. Since the time I got her which was about a month ago, Panda is a changed pupper. Melissa was there to help via phone and I had to make sure I was consistent in keeping Panda in check. Everything is changing for the better. Thank you Melissa! I highly recommend doing service with her.
As a consultant to dog behavior, the Nomadic Canine is a wealth if knowledge. Being located now on the islands I have not received in person care for my dogs. Consultations online and even on phone are deeply valued and have helped shape the way I take care of and treat them. Our family reached out to Melissa after our pup had started exhibiting self-harm behavior due to separation anxiety. We already had a trip planned off island, so Melissa's board and train option was an easy option for our pup. He arrived at training an anxious, over-stimulated pup that was just looking for some purpose and focus. I was extremely nervous that our dog wouldn't be our pup when we picked him up, however, I was and have continued to be amazed with Melissa training and compassion with our pups training. He's still our pup but he is so much happier, calmer, and obedient. He listens and reacts immediately to his new commands and has continue to excel with us at home. Melissa has been continuous with his training too, available to answer questions and help us learn how to be the best owners for our guy. This is the best dog groomers and kennels on Maui. Barry and Tamera really care about your furry friends. I took my dog Matrix in for a new "do" and he has never looked better. They were quick to respond to making an appointment, and easy to work with. They also have wonderful boarding kennels if you ever need a Hotel for your dog or cat.
I've been using Waggin Tails since 2015 after using a different kennel to where I can tell my dog was not happy going to. Every time I put together my dogs things to take him to Waggin Tails, my dog gets so excited (because he know's where we are going) that we can't leave fast enough, it's the funnest thing to see. I am so happy to have a fun safe place to take my buddy when it's time that I have to leave this beautiful Island. Thank you so much Barry and Tamara for being there for us at our time of need.

Stop by for a visit at Maui Kennels. When you walk in, you get the feeling of being Upcountry. There is on site grooming as well as fresh baked healthy treats for your pets. There is retail such as top quality vitamins and shampoos. The guests are constantly listening to music and TVs at night time. Guests always go home with a "Waggin Tail".
The owners were very nice hand helped us with our needs. We look forward to the next time we use them. We were happy to see that our dog was happy to be there before it was time to go. We highly recommend this kennel!!
I never expected to write this review :( We had used this kennel to board our dog several times and had been happy with them until our dog's last visit. Unfortunately the last time our dog was there she was injured by another dog to the point of needing surgery and months of follow up vet visits. Sadly it has been six months since her injury and she is still not 100% and it doesn't look like she ever will be. While I understand dogs will be dogs and that cannot always be controlled, I do not understand why I filled out and signed paperwork stating that if my dog caused injury to another dog I would be responsible for the other dogs vet bills but somehow these owners are not responsible for our $700+ vet bills. We have asked several times to be put in touch with the other dogs owners only to be ignored by the owners of Waggin Tails. If you send your dog here please do not take any solace in the paperwork you fill out, it means nothing;
Waggiin tales can't be topped, my dog has made several (12+) visits for a week or more, when he sees Barry he is very excited and knows he's going to play a (lot. I'm sorry the one person had a bad experience. When I got my he was sprayed and smelled fine. He was clean. the food I brought for him was used proportionals to what he eats at home , a good indication he was content. they picked up my car and my car at the airport and picked me up with my car and dog after a reasonable wait at the airport on my return with his leash and toys in a bag and remaining dog food. At one time picked up my dog at the hospital and brought him back only to pick him up again at the airport. I can't say enough good things about Waggin Tails, they are good community people, in fact my dog is there right now. He is very aggressive I am always surprised to see he never has any remnants of fighting even though he is exposed to other dogs and see pictures of him playing with others as well as the owners

Wayne and Sue love dogs/animals! Our dog has gone to them since he was a puppy and enjoys being there. He can't wait to get out of the car when we get there. It's clean and our dog, although large, sleeps in the house and they accommodate him to be in side at night. They are very thorough of being sure ticks, fleas and other diseases aren't on the animals. Your dog needs to go for an interview and temperment session before they'll think about allowing them to board. We are so glad we have our dog there!!
