Stewart and his family are lovely hosts, we really enjoyed the opportunity to meet them and take care of their delightful dogs, Romero and Cassie. The forest to walk them is minutes from the house and the dogs love it there. Romero is a big dog but has a very gentle nature and is easy on the leash. He enjoys letting you brush his coat. Cassie loves the chance to run free, but will always come back to you when you call him. He is also easy to groom. We will miss them for sure! Their home is wonderful and everything you would ever desire in a house sit – cozy guest room with a large comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom across the hall. The kitchen is large and fully equipped to prepare great meals. Wi-fi is strong and consistent. Stewart showed us how to use the TV and made movies available to watch. We loved spending most of our evenings dining on the outdoor patio overlooking the swimming pool. There is also an outdoor bar/kitchen and BBQ. The house is situated in a great location on the Costa Blanca in Spain and in the heart of a lovely village. It is a short walk to all the shops and restaurants and we enjoyed trying many of the cuisines on offer including Spanish, Italian, and Indian. With our rental car we were able to drive 15 minutes to the beach and neighboring towns. It is also easy to day trip to Cartagena, Murcia, La Manga. If you have the opportunity to house/pet sit for Stewart and family, we would highly recommend it. Niamh and Gary
This is a great housesit! Liz and Gil were wonderfully organized with information on pets, the house and the surrounding Virginia/Washington DC area. Their cat, Sammy, and terrier, Clay, are sweet and happy animals -- friendly and a pleasure to care for. There is a small, upscale shopping square within easy walking distance with good restaurants and a grocery store. Although I’m not a cook, I loved making dinner in the well-appointed kitchen and having dinner on their deck, watching beautiful sunsets over the lake.
Liz and Allan are passionate cat parents and warm hosts. They even picked me up from my previous location and took me to the train at the end of my stay (even after their long journey home). Communication worked well from the start and also during my stay. And to the most important part, the cats. All are incredibly lovable and easy to deal with. I miss them already... Most of them are very cuddly, so be prepared for lots of cuddles. And since they are used to being alone at home for a while, you can also go on excursions. The brief was clear and simple to manage.
We can definitely recommend this sit! Shelagh and her daughter gave us a warm welcome and introduced us to their house and pet Buddy. Buddy is such a good heart dog! He loves to cuddle, go for short walks in his favorite park and plays with other dogs. In the beginning he might be a bit anxious of man- but after a few treats and cuddle time to build trust- all was fine! We enjoyed our stay a lot. The two turtles are sweethearts as well and will walk around in the garden and enjoy the sunshine. The location is in a small village and has bus connection. The coast line is super close by and definitely worth a visit! The home of Shelagh offers all you need! The green is super spacious. The room we had offered all we need and the house is just lovely! Thanks again for the time we could spent with Buddy and the turtles in your home! Kirsten and Marcel
What wonderful people (Cathy and Ed) with a lovely home and amazingly easy dogs (Frankie and Puck). The accommodations are super comfortable and set in the woods which were just turning green. This is ideal for active nature lovers with a path to stream on the property and hiking trails nearby. There were also kayaks we used in a river near by. Frankie has tons of energy and will play fetch forever it’s amazing to watch her athletic grace as she bounds after the tennis ball even after like 25 tosses. She settles down peacefully when not playing and will snuggle on the couch. Puck is an older love bug who did his absolute best to never leave my side. Miss them already. Easy wonderful stay!
Jody's home was perhaps one of the most creative and inspiring places I've stayed at. I felt at-home immediately. It's the perfect vacation spot of you're visiting Durango. When I arrived, Maximillion gave me tour of the house and kept me company. He's a super fun kitten and will even play fetch with you! And if you need to get some work done without interuption, I suggest sitting on the patio with a gorgeous view of the mountains. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. I loved my trip!
