Rosie and Mason are both very sweet pups! Both take meds but this was not a hassle in the least. What’s nice is that there were no tricks to getting them to take their medicine, it went right in their food and that was that. They ate it right up.
Neither dog was super over the top about taking walks when I first arrived. After the first two days though they realized I loved taking them on walks and they both quickly leaned right into this and started looking forward to getting out and going.
I work remotely so I was able to be with them all day. Occasionally Rosie would just start mouthy grumble barking at me for no “good” reason in the middle of a video call, but my colleagues loved her. And look, she’s 14 she can grumble and bark all she wants. This wasn’t over the top or anything either.
The house is located within just a few minutes walk to a lovely park as well as Germantown Ave, where there’s plenty to eat, see, do. Quiet neighborhood, lovely neighborhoods, great dogs!

Geoff and I had a fabulously serein and relaxing time at Sandra and Mark's property. Despite the large number of animals in their eclectic menagerie, looking after them all was not difficult nor too time-consuming (under 1 hour per day between the two of us). And it was very pleasant to be surrounded by a pony, 2 alpacas and a flock of geese and ducks, all roaming free! The property sits on 10a of its own bushland but is only 20 minutes drive to Bateau Bay or Tuggerah for all the shopping needs, for which Sandra and Mark let us the use of a car. However we spent most of our time on the property, enjoying the pool, reading, cooking and relaxing keeping our outings to the bare minimum. We were accommodated in an independant small granny flat and also had access and use of the house main kitchen and lounge. However, as the granny flat was well equipped and comfortable, we mostly used the main house for preparing food for the animals and for cooking food and making jam with the superb oranges picked on the property .

My three days at Socks, the cat's apartment were short, but sweet, and not without some learnings.

Let's start with the sweet:

- Socks has excellent taste in music. I was only able to scratch the surface of his vinyl collection, but enjoyed everything I was able to listen to. Socks has an enviable setup complete with two turntables for real DJ-ing, and wall-mounted speakers.
- Socks favors the minimalist lifestyle. This means you won't find a tv in his home. At first, I was daunted by this, but came to appreciate the simplicity. It has been a while since I just kicked back and listened to some tunes. It was quite nice to do so.
- Socks himself has a pet cat named Misty. Misty is sweet as can be, though she doesn't seek out your affection.
- You won't find yourself plagued by the typical noises of the city at Socks' place. It is nicely tucked away off the street and away from the building's other residents.

And the learnings:

- Socks is a disciplinarian. In Socks' home, there is only Socks' way of doing things. Socks is not shy to hiss, howl and swat the habit out of you if you make a mistake. Only experience can tell you what a mistake looks like, though.
- Let's just say... Socks has a thing for feet. So make sure you wear your beat-around shoes in case he can't control his urges.
- Before Socks' caretakers leave, make sure they show you where the Bactine is - just in case learnings 1 and 2 didn't sink in.
- Real disc-jockeying is a super impressive skill! My boyfriend tried his hand with little success.

Gemma
We feel really privileged that Gemma chose us to care for Teddy and Monty whilst they went on a family holiday over Easter… especially as this was our very first sit.
We had an overlap on arrival where Gemma was able to show us round her beautiful home and introduced us to the boys who we immediately bonded with.
Teddy and Monty are totally adorable, very tactile which is what we craved after losing our two Golden Retrievers not so long ago.
After a really wet March a few of the immediate local walks were very waterlogged, but we put the boys in the car (who travelled brilliantly) and explored the area including most of the beautiful National Trust properties nearby. The purpose-built dog wash station in the utility room was ideal and the boys were very good at being cleaned and groomed.
Gemma and Ben’s home is really comfortable and in a great location being just a short walk downhill into Marlow town centre. Marlow itself is a really lovely town and most of the shops and eateries are extremely dog friendly.
Communication with Gemma was excellent before, during and after our sit.
We had a great week and are missing the boys already. Big hugs to Monty and Teddy!

We really enjoyed a lovely time with Muze and Oliver. Muze is a georgeous girl with a lovely friendly soul. She loves her walks and cuddles. Oliver is a delight and love cuddles and attention. Erik is really lovely, he was very easy to communicate with, very accomodating, the house is very comfortable. We would love to Housesit again, and would highly recommend this sit to others

We have enjoyed our recent house/dog sit for Jeff & Mary. They were very informative, kind and easy to reach when it was necessary.

We found Star & Frost to be exceptional charming dogs to care for. It is a pleasure to be with them. They really enjoy to be cuddled and played. They are extremely obedient and very easy. Always happy to see you and to receive you home. We loved our daily walks with Frost & Star along the beach.

The family lives in a very nice and well located area of CPH with good access to public transport, the city and the airport. The home is big, comfortable and it has everything that is needed for a pleasant stay.

Thanks to Jeff & Mary for entrusting us the care of your lovely pets and home. We recommend this house/dog sit to other dog lovers.
