Shelley stayed at our place and took care of our cat Zoey and the plants on the deck during a hot week in August. We were able to organize the sit remotely with her beforehand and during the stay she kept us updated on how things were going. Julie and Nigel have kindly helped us out twice now. The first time was very unexpected - in September 2020, just after we'd booked them through zeewoi for Christmas. Our local dog sitter had unfortunately let us down last minute and we were due to go away for a big birthday weekend for my mother-in-law so in a panic I decided to get in touch with Julie and Nigel to see whether they happened to be free the following weekend....they were not free to come to us but very kindly offered to take Dunkley into their house for the weekend. Since it was not too far away from the birthday weekend venue, we packed Dunkley up for his first weekend away. Admittedly we were slightly nervous dropping him off with complete strangers, that neither we or he had met (plus he'd never been away from home before) but no nerves were necessary because as soon as we met Julie and Nigel we instantly warmed to them and so did Dunkley. In fact, he had the time of his life - going to the beach for the first time, meeting all their Grandchildren, going on nature walks.....you name it! I'm surprised we got him to come home. They were so great at communicating by What's App and sending us photos of all his adventures. So, roll onto December - we already knew Julie and Nigel and so did Dunkley so we knew all would be well for our 3 weeks away. We had building work still going on (unexpectedly) but Julie and Nigel took it in their stride with no complaints and also dealt with the various parcels and deliveries that arrived sometimes unannounced. Although they had terrible weather during the three weeks away, they seemed to make the most of it and explored the area as well as befriending neighbours, estate managers, construction workers, pub landlords etc! They made quite the hit all round! House was left just as we'd found it, clean and tidy. I know Dunkley loved them (he's a very good judge of character) - he was a little subdued the couple of days after they left. Great people - and would definitely have no hesitation in recommending them again and we very much hope to have them to stay again.
