Nathalie accepted to catsit our Charlie during Christmas time from December 24, 10 am to 26 noon even though she was moving out her house on December 21st (moving that was not planned at the time she applied for the sitting)! That is what we call a reliable person!! It was a great pleasure meeting Nathalie and having her cat sitting Charlie. Nathalie agree to visit us for a couple of hours a few weeks before the cat sitting. Her cheerful and outgoing personality charmed us. We knew that Charlie and our house would be in good hands. Nathalie did indeed take great care of Charlie and kept us informed of how he was doing. When we came back, the bedsheets had been washed, the house was spotless and Charlie purred us he had a great time with Nathalie. On our table were 3 crochet dishcloths she had made for us during her stay and homemade beets! Thanks to Nathalie, we were able to have a wonderful Christmas with our families. Thank you so much Nathalie!
Without a doubt this was the best pet sit I have ever done! Ziggy was absolutely adorable, he keeps a strict napping schedule, loves to take cuddle breaks and also is a phenomenal footballer. I loved hanging out with him, loved how talkative he could be and how he’d let me kiss his head for every single step going up the stairs. I miss him already! But as a bonus- Greca and Jamie are terrific people. Completely welcoming and trusting and very chill about the sit. The house is lovely, the town is enchanting and really the worst part about this whole sit was knowing that eventually I’d have to leave.
My stay at Andrés and Andrea's place taking care of their lovely cats was a delightful experience. The fluent communication with both of them made me feel right at home. The central location of their house was super convenient, with the Ring station just 3 minutes away and plenty of buses around. Açaí and Atticus were charming companions, super friendly cats and both slept in bed with me after a couple of days of getting to know me. The house is super comfortable (I will miss that giant TV 😊) and has everything you need. I'm grateful for this wonderful opportunity and would gladly do it again in the future.
Gill and Glyn were welcoming and accomodating, and even offered to pick us up from the airport, treated to dinner and let us use their car. The sit itself wasn't the easiest one: we did have a few adventures with the dogs, mainly due to Ozy being still a puppy, always up for a going-on (chewing things around the property) so she brought about a bit of a mess. And Zeus tends to get a bit violent towards the other two (over food). Otherwise very friendly and loving dogs, same goes for the cats! The Loki (the black one) is fun to be around. The location is marvellous -- you can go on a number of hikes on the doorstep. We left feeling a bit let down though as our welcoming the hosts and treating them to dinner and keeping the house clean was not up to Gill's standards.
While this house/pet sit didn't get to happen (the trip was for biz and because of the government shutdown...well ya know) - I still got to meet the family and spend a night. Chito was ADORABLE and I was bummed I wouldn't get to hang with her while Larua and Joe were away. The home was warm and inviting - even as it started to snow the next morning - and Larua and Joe were a delight to get to know and chat with over the course of the evening and a bit the next morning. Very helpful with any questions I had and ample suggestions too! I am hoping I will have an opportunity in the future to stay with Chito and visit with L&J again :-0!
I had a lovely time looking after Luna, who is a true sweetheart and very easy to look after. She really enjoyed her daily walks around the nearby St Anne’s Well Gardens. Thank you so much to Phil and Nat, who made me feel really welcome in their beautiful home. Great location too!
We just loved it! After over 10 years sitting experience this was our first sitting through THS and it was beyond great! An unique experience in such a special house, loving animals and stunning landscape. Malcolm is an incredible person, best host you can imagine, very communicative, very patient. In fact, we stayed longer than it was supposed to. We really enjoyed spending time talking about everything and sharing time and space with him and his animals. He showed us in such a gentle way the daily care for the animals and the beautiful walking paths around. Laying chickens, many ducks, a crowing rooster, goats, a lovely little lamb, and a couple of really loving sheep. This is the great farmfamily you will look after! really easy and enjoyable to care. Bruno, the dog... is just loving and adorable, We miss him a lot! for the fist time he shows his insecurity as a mistreated dog as he was but after really short time he´ll become your shadow, searching for cuddles and attention in such a nice way. Taking him for a walk was the perfect way to explore the beautiful surroundings. We really enjoyed it! The cat's crew, Billy and Blacky and the five kittens, are just adorable! I did love spending time playing with them in front of the fire... missing it! . Malcolm’s house is very cosy and confortable with a really good internet (I do work online so I spent many hours using it). The house itself is an authentic historical jewel, staying there you would have the opportunity to know further about the history of Galicia and Spain. Samos, which has one of the oldest Benedictine monasteries in Europe, is just one of these beautiful towns nearby that you can visit (just 20 minutes drive away). pretty awesome! We recommend it 100%. Great experience, great house, adorable animals! Thank you very much Malcolm for having us! I hope we will have the chance to come back soon! Graciñas!! .
