It was a pleasure looking after Ginger for Rhonda and Kevin. She's a very good dog that's easy to care for. Rhonda was easy to communicate with and very hospitable and I enjoyed sitting by their lovely pool.
We can't say enough what a pleasure it was to house-sit for Garry and Shirley. Warm and friendly from our first video chat, they provided clear instructions and promptly answered any questions we had via texts. Willow and Scotia are the gentlest, shadow pups-they will walk on lead at your side, whatever pace you set. They are not demanding of your attention but once you start, you won't stop-they are so lovable. Garry and Shirley's home leaves nothing to be desired and has amenities you won't find elsewhere, all of which made for an amazing house-sit. And while those enticements are certainly a draw to get you there, it will be the companionship of Willow and Scotia that will bring you back. We can't wait to care for them again; we miss them already. Highly recommend ......"5 stars PLUS"!
The Twelve Paws of Christmas! On the first paw of Christmas The Chocolates gave to me, a black cat chased up the neighbor’s tree...hahaha I had a wonderful time for my first THS sit in a beautiful location with three highly evolved, loveable chocolate labradors — aka The Chocolates! Each with their own personality; Gus, Daisy & Violetta. As the previous sitters attested, however, The Chocolates were very strong and commanded a lot of attention on walks in and around the neighborhood and adjacent beach — where they were in their element. These beautiful dogs are BIG. Though they are trained to follow basic commands, they pulled, chased cats on a second’s notice, and otherwise wanted to have your attention 24/7. Daisy, the oldest, was indeed the best ball player! Gus, the most patient and predictable. Violetta was all fun fun fun. They were charming and loveable yet often very excitable. It was a 20 day personal trainer workout just keeping up! Host Annette was easy going and communicative leaving a very detailed grooming and care list including an on call Veternarian’s number in case anything should arise, and was in touch daily by messages. The location and house were truly beautiful, well appointed, and very comfortable. The port town in walking distance, had plenty to offer for basic provisions; multiple fresh fish markets, a well stocked focacceria, and small grocer and bar all open on Sundays. Annette also assured me I would be able to leave the dogs to go on a few hours excursions to Ostuni or Lecce for the day, without any worry — and it was true. Gus, Daisy & Violetta were well behaved upon return greeting me with wagging tails. The Twelve Paws of Christmas was perhaps a lot to handle for one person for 20 days; they missed their mama! As along with their feeding, walking, and play schedule, were maintaining / vacuuming daily to keep up with shedding or mopping after 12 muddy paws made their way in before they could be wiped, LOL … plenty to keep up with. I would highly recommend this sit as the previous sitters recommended, for a couple with lots of energy and love for 12 chocolate paws, to enjoy this romantic Puglian location.
Siobhan and her dogs (Thando and Tessa) are all so great! Siobhan was kind, trusting, helpful & communicative. Her home is beautiful and has everything you could need. Thando and Tessa are such sweet dogs that are a joy to watch and play with - although they’re big dogs, they are easy to take care of and are both fun loving. Tessa loves her food and they both love pets and cuddles & are perfectly content to hang out with you while you read, work, watch TV, etc. I would happily dog and house sit for Siobhan again!
Courtney’s house and pet sit was lovely. She has a beautiful apartment with a fantastic view! At night, the view is especially stunning. Her home is very clean, tidy and her kitchen is large with a new gas stove and washing machine. The location is excellent and you can Uber to any location in Quito easily. Courtney is a great communicator and always got back to me quickly. She is very organized and gave me a tour and instructions that complemented her Welcome Guide. She had to go out the evening I arrived but was so kind to offer me snacks and cold beer which was very much appreciated. Now for her adorable kitten, Chocho. What a fun, lively, cuddly kitty. She warmed up to me quickly and by the second evening was sitting on my lap while I watched a movie and joining me at bedtime, curled up beside my legs. Chocho is a good little sleeper and is ready to meet the day at 5 am. Courtney warned me of this and it was no problem for me as I’m an early riser. Chocho loves her meal times, playing on the outside swing, chasing little toys you toss across the floor, sitting outside on the balcony watching the world go by and stalking the odd fly that would happen to come into the apartment. I really enjoyed this house and kitty sit and would absolutely come back. Thanks Courtney for your hospitality and trusting me with your adorable Chocho.
I felt a strong connection with Frank, Carolyn and John!! Carolyn and John are amazing parents to Frank and you can tell he is loved so much. I fell hard for Frank during my stay and was extremely sad to leave him at the end of the sit. Frank is passionate about everything he does whether it it eating, playing, walking, cuddling or sleeping. He is such a wonderful companion and we ate several meals together at the local pubs. He is a very easy and affectionate dog. John and Carolyn were everything that you could ask for in a pet parent and host. They were kind, generous, organized and thorough on providing the necessary information for Frank’s care as well as making my stay enjoyable. Their home is beautiful and set up to accommodate guests. It was extremely clean and comfortable. The location was great and both grocery store and restaurants/pubs were within walking distance. There is lots of green space near by to take Frank to play. I loved running and walking in this very safe area. I would love to pet sit for Frank again in the future!
