We had a lovely Christmas break at Tiggy's house, looking after her delightful trio of pets. We were able to visit a week or so before the sit and meet Tiggy and 2 of the pets (Cecil was out exploring). This also gave us the chance to be shown around the house and see how things worked. The boys took Wilbur for a walk in the field behind the house and they were all soon firm friends. We met the rest of the family on the day we began the sit and they were all very friendly and helpful. The location of this sit is an ideal location for anyone looking to explore some of the most well known Cotswold villages and towns. As we are relatively local, we enjoyed getting to know this quieter village just off the tourist trail and exploring some other less well known villages nearby. The boys loved the village green just across the road, and the nearby ford was handy for cleaning muddy boots! The house is fantastic. It's an old Cotswold building that used to be a pub (the village still has a thriving pub just along the road) with a spacious and light modern addition that is cleverly done to be invisible from the road. We had 2 big, comfortable guest rooms, each with an en suite. The modern kitchen diner had everything we needed to successfully cook our Christmas dinner for 4. There was a choice of 2 cosy sitting rooms. both with real fires. We decided to use the one with the Christmas tree, and the sofa that Wilbur was allowed to join us on. It was wonderfully cosy on an evening with the fire keeping us warm. The garden is pretty with plenty of birds visiting the feeders and I imaging it would be lovely to sit out there in warmer months. The pets were, of course the highlight of our stay. While Wilbur was a little bit vocal at the very beginning of our first meeting, he quickly settled down and showed himself to to be a happy, affectionate and well behaved boy who loved his walks and fusses. Being a terrier he could pull on the lead a little early in the walk, but nothing too much, and when we were able to let him off lead he was well behaved and never went too far. He was calm and friendly with other dogs we met on walks. Alby the young black siamese is very vocal and affectionate and likes to ride on your shoulder given the opportunity. Cecil, the handsome silver tabby is quite relaxed and was happy to join us on the sofa in the living room for a fuss. If he'd had enough he would just wander off and settle somewhere else. The pets seem to be quite relaxed in each others company. There was the odd moment where a playful Alby would jump on Cecil, who would retaliate with a swipe, but it would be over in seconds. On our last evening we realised that Wilbur the dog was resting his head on Cecil as they both laid on the sofa, and Cecil didn't seem bothered at all! We are already missing Wilbur, Alby and Cecil and would be very happy to look after them again in the future.
If you are looking for peace and tranquility in a beautiful place with two of the nicest cats then this is the sit. Phoebe and Orlando are very friendly, lovable and will take all the affection that you can give. We didn’t get to meet Debbie, Charlie and Tatty but their neighbour, Juliet, kindly showed us around and we were in touch with Debbie. We had a lovely time and enjoyed some trips out and about and are grateful to Debbie and Charlie for choosing us.
Awesome experience with Isabella and Oliver! Isabella is a shy, super sweet angel and Oliver is a sweetheart and a cool dude. They are great on walks on just a pleasure to be with! Jamie and Stephen are super nice and accommodating -and their place is comfortable and safe in a great area walking distance to the bridge and waterfront park. Groceries, restaurants and stores are all nearby. I absolutely loved my time with the Cutie Cavaliers-and I highly recommend sitting for Isabella and Oliver!
Theo is the sweetest pup! He was so fun to take care of and always stayed by my side. Nick was also very helpful and easy to communicate with.
Rachel and Chris were welcoming and Banjo super cute. Taking care of him was easy and entertaining. The flat is located in a good area, not far from the CBD (30min by bus or train). It's a good base camp for exploring Sydney and beaches.
A v friendly family and cocker spaniel, who was clearly the envy of the village! Lots of great walks from the back door, with an excellent 'local' pub next door. Near to Castle Drogo, Clovelly, and Bude. Highly recommended!
