We had an excellent time taking care of sweet Tucker while his parents were away. Tucker took to us instantly. While teleworking during the week he would spend the day napping at our feet, and generally following us around wherever we went. We enjoyed daily walks down to the beach, relaxing in the hammock in the sunny backyard, watching TV at the end of the night, and kayaking together. While kayaking he didn't bark at all and just took in the sights, it was a hoot! Their home is absolutely beautiful and has gorgeous views, and is in a very quiet neighborhood. We would highly recommend this sit! Sue was very kind and easy to talk with.
This was a wonderful sit. Alfie is a gorgeous boy with a lovely nature. His favourite hobby is sleeping, but he also enjoyed sitting on our laps for endless strokes and playing with his rod toys. He adored being combed, obligingly rolling over, purring loudly all the while (with his tongue stuck out!), so we could access all areas! Cecily and Martin are kind and generous hosts. They sent us their Welcome Guide and several videos of how things worked, well ahead of time and then gave us a great tour of their home on our arrival, with lots of information about things to do in the area, including the fabulous Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival, which just happened to be on while we were there - great fun! Communication before, during and after the sit was easy and quick. Cecily and Martin’s house is beautiful, with many examples of Cecily’s sewing skills dotted around. We nearly stole the quilt from our bed! Our en-suite bedroom was spacious with an excellent shower and even a bidet loo! The kitchen is very well-equipped and everywhere is absolutely spotless. The piano was a bonus! The garden too is glorious (obviously a labour of love for Martin) with lots of different seating areas to enjoy and marvellous sea views. Within walking distance there are two beach cafes, one offering ice cream hedgehogs(!) and there’s also a very good pub at the water’s edge in Helford Passage where we enjoyed some excellent moules frites. It is possible to walk to Falmouth, mostly along the coastal path (great views), but instead we often caught the little bus from the nearby village of Mawnan Smith. This was a lovely experience as everyone was so helpful and friendly and there seems to be a real sense of community. 5 stars all the way! A big thank you to Alfie, Cecily and Martin!
Esther and Neal are lovely people and we felt comfortable right away. Their property is very quiet and peaceful. Abe is a gentle, sweet dog and the cats are quite entertaining. Our phone reception was not great in the area so communication was often difficult. Also, litter box directions were not clear. Everything else was great - an enjoyable house sit.
Nioki, Nioki, Nioki .... my first corgi experience, and what an experience it was. Loving, lovable, fun, playful, energetic, and intelligent with tons of personality and a mind of her own. She loves the nearby dog park where she can run off leash and a game of fetch. A perfect companion and a real joy to be with. Julie and Thomas are great hosts and great communicators, quick to respond to any question you may have. All in all: great pet, great host, and great location. Highly recommended.
Well, we don't have words to say how amazing this petsit was. 10 of the best days of our trip around the world so far. Starting with Kati and Béla, they are really sweet, they received us at night (even if they were going to travel early the next day), they showed us every detail of the house and even prepared dinner for us, not to mention the fact that they picked us up in Lund. Vollsjö is a small and beautiful town in the south of Sweden, full of amazing places to visit in the surroundings and that was even great because they left us their electric bikes (which are great) for us to use. The house is huge, super comfortable and with a great bedroom, living room and kitchen, in addition to several other rooms, we felt super comfortable since we arrived. It was great also taking care of their garden and being able to pick ripe strawberries every day, delicious. Well, what about Csoki and Smiley? They are probably the two sweetest pets we've ever met and cared for, super quiet and polite and they love each other. Csoki is always available for a walk, for a cuddle or just to lie in the kitchen door and watch us. Smiley is the sweetest cat we've ever seen, he also loves to be petted and would even go for walks with us. We would also like to give a special thanks to Kata who was always super helpful with us and even lent us one of her cars so we could see the south coast of Sweden, which was amazing. Another amazing experience we had and we will definitely return to Vollsjö in a new opportunity! Thanks guys! Very much Pedro & Amanda
