This was a 2 week house sit in the middle of our tour of New Zealand. We were given a great welcome by Alex and Steve and enjoyed a lovely dinner and went through the details of our stay. The house is beautiful and clean with outstanding views of the surrounding hills and the sea in the distance. There are numerous walks and hikes close to the house and Waffles loves them all. In fact, Waffles loves everything and everyone. She is young and full of energy and every day is an adventure. She is equally happy walking all day with you, travelling in the car, playing in the local dog parks or sitting with you and relaxing. She is no trouble at all. If you get the opportunity to take a sit here with Waffles grab it with both hands. You will not be disappointed.
I thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time with Pirate, Rosie and Joey. They are absolutely gorgeous, full of individual character, and extremely well behaved. After some zoomies on the field across the way, we would go for a trot through the 'forest', onto some more zoomies before heading home. This would be followed by the three of them crashing out for a few hours, until Joey would start dancing his own version of the Haka, signalling that we needed to trot off for another round. I'm gutted that I won't be able to assist again in a few days, but I'm already booked elsewhere. Be warned, you can't help falling in love with these gentle creatures, I'm already missing them, and their cheeky cuddles. I can't wait to look after them again, hopefully sooner rather than later. Had a lovely stay at Micol's place in Dusseldorf. A light-filled, ground-level apartment very close to the U-Bahn and to a scenic section of the river Rhine bank. Easy to get to different places nearby, as the Dusseldorf (=Ruhr) region is filled with cities small and large(r), plus Netherlands & Belgium are of course just a 'stone's throw' away. Rented a bike one day as well to take advantage of the cycle paths. The two kitties - mom & daughter- were easy to take care off with kitty daughter being a bit cheeky at times. They also love to play. Certainly recommended if you want to get to know this interesting part of Germany a bit better!
Johanne and Taylah are wonderful hosts, they have a super peaceful home with the most awesome pups! I had a great time hanging out with both Reggie and Rio! Although Reggie is the older of the two he will surprised you with his personality, he’s a tiny ball of energy. Rio is a bit cautious with strangers, but once he gets to know you he’s the sweetest companion and definitely the more composed of the two. While Rio is content sitting next to you, Reggie’s mission in life is figuring out how to maximize pets and cuddles. Looking forward to our next hangout!

It’s a wonderful experience in Shari and Rob’s house with Chula. Chula is energetic yet not too demanding, independent yet very affectionate, just the perfect play mate and love bug! We already miss her. Shari and Rob are generous and fun people. We had a great time chatting with them before and after the sit! Bisbee is an interesting area and the house is situated in wilderness-like beautiful open space. It’s an unique experience.

Our rabbit stayed at Creature Comforts for a full month this summer, she was well look after and very happy there. Caroline make us feel confident that she will have look after her very well, and my kids should not be worry about her during our holiday. We will definitely use again for our rabbit.
We have been very lucky to have been using Creature Comforts for about 5 years now for our 2 rabbits. They absolutely love going to stay and it is often tricky to catch them when it is time to go home! The set up is amazing, in a beautiful garden with hutch/run combos set up so the rabbits can all see each other. Caroline is lovely and extremely accommodating. She clearly cares about each and every animal she is looking after. I could not recommend this enough, I have complete peace of mind when we are away as I know how well looked after and happy the rabbits are.
Caroline at Creature Comforts is probably one of the most loveliest people I have ever met and the love and care she provides to the boarding pets is simply outstanding. I was nervous about leaving my rabbits for the first time back in May, however Caroline soon put my mind at ease and, as promised, kept me updated throughout my holiday on how they were doing. I also left them in July and I just know they were so excited to be back for their little holiday at creature comforts! I have unfortunately had to re-home my rabbits, however I have told their new owner she MUST use creature comforts boarding if she ever goes away! Caroline is absolutely crazy about animals (in a lovely way). She's taken good care of our little hamsters, always handling them daily and giving them treats. I can't imagine a better person to entrust with our pets. Totally recommended!
Our guinea pigs have been regular visitors for 5 years now and have been very well looked after every time. The many large hutches and runs in her garden appear clean and well maintained (and usually filled by regular customers) and Caroline clearly cares about the welfare of all the animals. We will continue using as long as we can.
We were so happy to find Creature Comforts to look after our two rabbits. The main thing for us was that our bunnies would have enough space, so seeing that the owners supported the Rabbit Welfare Association was important to us. The rabbits had a lovely hutch and attached run in a beautiful garden, with plenty of fresh grass, hay and greens to nibble on. The owner obviously gave our rabbits lots of attention and care while we were away. We wouldn't hesitate to use Creature Comforts again. Many thanks!
We have left our 3 bunnies in the caring and capable hands of Caroline at Creature Comforts several times in the past couple of years. (Side note: perhaps my effusive alliteration is a sign of how happy I am we found her!) Caroline feels like an old friend even on the first meeting and it is immediately clear how much she loves animals and is keen to get to know their individual personalities so she can best cater to their needs. She is happy to send WhatsApp updates and pictures on request to keep your mind at rest that your fur babies are doing ok and she is very responsive and flexible when arranging drop-off and pick-up. Our bunnies always come back revitalised after having a lovely holiday of their own! Plus the hutches are such good quality we've decided to modify our own so they are more like hers (e.g: using soft plastic coating so the hutches can stand on grass but are still digsafe). We wouldn't leave our bunnies with anyone else. I fully recommend her services to anyone! :)
Caroline is excellent and I am so thrilled to have found her. The grass runs are attached to the hutches so the bunnies can go where they please when they want to. Whenever I have been all the hutches and runs that I see are immaculate and all the rabbits are obviously very well cared for and loved. A 5* bunny hotel.
We discovered Creature Comforts small animal boarding approximately a year ago to this month and it was a huge relief for us. We have 3 rabbits who are basically like our children and we love them to bits. We had tried and tested 3 or 4 various small animal boarding places around Oxfordshire over the past 3 years but each time we left our rabbits behind our minds would fill with doubt and worry. Space was our biggest concern. Some places simply didn't have the space to have runs attached to the hutches at all, some didn't have the 6ft x 6ft hutches that the RWAF recommend as standard practice, and some just had hutches stacked on top of hutches and the rabbits had to wait to be lifted down to a run to exercise and stretch their legs. Location was also a key factor for us because we never felt comfortable leaving the bunnies in the back garden of a big housing estate or near to a main road. Our oldest female bun suffered an injury at one boarding place and as soon as we had returned from holiday we had to take her to the vets for treatment. We felt terrible for her and frustrated not to have been notified. We faced a dilemma but as luck would have it we eventually stumbled upon Creature Comforts' beautiful website and saw that it was approved by the RWAF. In excitement we contacted Caroline straight away and within days we were able to visit and see the place for ourselves. Creature Comforts is set in beautiful surroundings and provides a wonderful safe sanctuary for rabbits and small animals who are provided with ample space to run, jump and binky as they should and be cared for by someone who understands their dietary and physical needs.
Caroline is the most kind and caring person you could ask to care for your pet. For the last three years Caroline has provided excellent care for our pet dog Rooi; she walks him in the week for us and has provided numerous pet sitting visits. Caroline is reliable, trustworthy and has excellent knowledge about caring for pets. She goes above and beyond and treats Rooi as part of her own family. We know he’s in safe hands and don’t know what we would do without her. Thank you Caroline.
We had a one to one training session with Patty to get some tips on how to help us build the confidence of our rehome Westie at our home. It was incredible to see how our little one responded to Patty almost instantly. It was a full on session packed with really useful training tips and information about dog behaviour. Patty certainly knows her stuff and is patient and persistent! We would really recommend one of these sessions to focus on specific needs. It really helped us understand our girl and know what is best so we can help her become a happy, outgoing dog.
Patty at Canine Paradise is just wonderful - she had such a great way with all the pups in our class. Our pup loved the training classes and together we learnt so much. I definitely recommend Patty and I'm hoping we can get booked onto the intermediate classes. I stumbled across Canine Paradise while searching online and I was thrilled when we managed to get a place in a class. Definitely worth the time and money and the learning you gain is so valuable and you just keep using the knowledge again and again.
When we first started with Patty at Canine Paradise we hadn't had a dog for many years and we had a rescue of a breed we were unfamiliar with. Patty was very calm, patient and supportive and gave us many ideas how to proceed with our lovely boy. Her trick of course is that she really was training us as much as him. Her love of dogs is obvious and she is very knowledgeable about many breeds and can advise how to deal with general as well as specific issues. We would highly recommend her for your puppy or older dog training.
Have been to several classes with our growing puppy, all of them brilliant for socialisation, training and reassurance about how to handle her! Patty is a fantastic trainer who dogs absolutely love (and respect) and has demonstrates & explains everything in a simple and enthusiastic way. Just as much fun for owners as for dogs! We are much more confident now having worked with Patty and seen what we're doing right & wrong.
We’ve just done the puppy class and now progressed to basic obedience class. Patty makes it such fun and the dogs love her, as well as us both learning. She also gives her time freely to help with any other problems that may arise. She has been an absolute star helping me to integrate my old Jack Russell with the pup. I had really bleak days but Patty always responded to my cries for help with practical advice and lots of encouragement for me. Very highly recommended. Thank you Patty, from Betty, Pip and Em xxx
My husband and I have now attended 3 puppy training classes with Patty and are absolutely delighted with the progress that we, and our puppy, have made. Patty explains and demonstrates each activity very well. It has made us realise how important it is to train the owners first to be able to work towards having an obedient, socially acceptable dog.
Gave up with the basic obedience classes due to last minute changes of venue, days and times. Several of them were cancelled due to weather and patty having other commitments at the time the classes were due to take place

Canine paradise has been wonderful for training our slightly crazy cocker/lab cross Pippa. Patty has taken the time to help us from day 1, and has always been on call for any issues we have encountered. The result? One exceedingly well behaved 18 month old puppy whom we constantly get amazing compliments for her behaviour and obedience. Considering she was our first dog and we had no clue to start with, I consider this all down to Patty. We have gained so much confidence, that we have taken on a second puppy, a Bernese/lab cross, who of course, is going through the same Journey with us and Patty. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Patty from Canine Paradise is brilliant. The training sessions have really helped us ensure we have a well behaved sociable dog. Patty keeps the sessions both fun and interesting and we go as a whole family so the kids are learning how to handle and look after our dog too. I would highly recommend these sessions and we plan to continue with them all the way to gold standard as they are great for all of us.
Can't recommend Estelle highly enough. She's looked after my 3 cats for a few years and they adore her. She always goes above and beyond. Latest escapade was one going missing and she helped with the search effort while I was away including trawling social media. She found him in a different village (he'd got in a car...) and was off to scan his microchip and rescue him. Get photos and messages to update what antics they've been up to while I'm away. Absolute find this lady.

Estelle is a life-saver in terms of pet sitting. Simple as that. Our kittens love her! We have entrusted them in her care both when they were tiny and a bit older, on both occassions for a week or longer. We came back to happy, healthy kittens, and even got some kitten photos for us when we were away. She is very professional and just a lovey person you can easily let into your house and entrust your pets with. We cannot recommend Estelle's pet care enough!
Estelle is truly exceptional. She has cared for our cat on many occasions for as long as two to three weeks and every time we return to find a very happy cat. I can't recommend Animals at Home, Oxford highly enough. I am extremely happy with the level of care my cats received while I was away; they were not just fed and watered, but Estelle also spent time playing with them and giving them attention. She also messaged me everyday with an update about them which really reassured me that they were doing well, meaning I could enjoy my holiday more. I have been using animals at Home in Oxford for some time and Estelle provides a fantastic level of customer service. Her professional, friendly and warm approach combined with her love of animals provides a great support when leaving Molly our Tibetan Terrier. I would highly recommend her services.
Estelle recently looked after my “squad” of 4 cats, of which 3 are just 8 months old. So, potential for cat chaos .... She dealt calmly with my paranoia (first time leaving them!), and sent photos and updates. I returned to 4 happy cats, relaxed and well fed. Great, attentive, warm and genuine service from someone who clearly loves animals and has empathy for their ‘owners’.
Absolutely impossible to get hold of over the phone. Didn't reply even when I filled in a form on her website explaining that my dog needed transporting from Oxford to Witney for weekly hydrotherapy as she has degenerative myelopathy. Finally got a text from her after texting her saying she'd get back to me, but she never did. Disgraceful.
Estelle is friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and my cat Charlie adores her! I never have to worry about leaving him in her care. I would highly recommend Estelle's services.

We didn't had a very good experience unfortunately. When we went to pick our dog up she was dying to the 'bathroom'. Her bed was not inside of her cage. She looked like she was never let out of the cage during the period that we left her. We didn't felt that she was taken care properly. We hope that this might have been a one off and that the dogs left in their care are safe and well treated.
Great customer service from Freddie and amazing care is taken of the dogs. This is a true holiday home for real dogs who love the fresh air and countryside and who enjoy socialising with other dogs. They have tonnes of fun and will find being at home very boring in comparison! The dog training by those at Gamegoer is also exceptional - incredibly experienced dog handlers who can work wonders (with humans and dogs!!)
If you like your dog to be a solitary prince/princess in a sterile environment, this isn't for you. If you want your dog to be happy, socializing with friends and enjoying a dog's life in the countryside, while being looked after by a highly experienced and warm-hearted team, this is just great. We tried a few kennels and our dog expressed the most enthusiasm for this one.
I take my little Rosie dog to see lizzy the dog groomer ..i have done for years now and shes great lizzy and my Rosie dog really loves trust her.. haven't been to anybody else . Really recommended

Oxford Pet Whisperers are an exceptional team of caring and dedicated professionals whom I completely trust with our puppy. The heartwarming videos they share on Instagram always brighten my day, showing all the happy dogs playing and enjoying themselves. They provide a wide range of activities and enrichment experiences, and you can even book additional services like baths, tail trims, and full grooming. Amber absolutely loves her time with them and has grown so much more confident since she started attending. I would highly recommend Oxford Pet Whisperers to anyone looking to enhance their puppy’s socialisation. Or to anyone needing day care facilities due to work schedules.
Our golden retriever Ella is a regular daycare visitor and this year we tried the doggy hotel facilities for the first time. It gave us peace of mind as we knew she will be comfortable knowing all staff and environment, and she absolutely loved it, I don't think she was very impressed when we turned up to pick her up 5 days later, she wanted to carry on with the fun! We had a couple of updates on how she is getting on which was lovely to have. And you can see what your pup is up to during the days on Instagram account. Would definitely recommend this over regular kennels!
Lovely introduction. The business has an amazing concept with everything to make the dogs and the owners happy. So much space and all is clean and safe. Even the air gets filtered. My dog didn't want to come with me home after 30 minutes there.
once again Oxford pet whisperer have outdone themselves my little baby Frenchie had the time of his life actually came back with some extra manners. They also managed to squeeze me in a short note as I had to go away thank you very much for everything you’ve done.
We booked our dog in for a puppy groom last year. We looked online and saw that it was going to cost £10 but were surprised by hidden charges and ended up paying around £35-£40. The female groomer was not friendly towards our dog and did not even ask for his name, then was rude when we arrived back a few minutes late to collect him. He did not look well groomed and certainly did not look happy in his post groom photo (see pic). Upon returning home we found out why as the groomer had cut him under the eye and did not tell us. It looked like she had just washed the wound and covered it up. Luckily it did not become infected. We were very displeased and frankly disgusted with the service but due to other factors in life getting in the way at the time we never reached out to Oxford Pet Whisperers, hence the late review. We would certainly not return nor recommend their services to anyone else.
From the start, they have been very accommodating, professional and so friendly! We love the amount of time our pup gets to play and socialise with her friends as well as the first week report card and ongoing photos we can see on social media during her visits! A really well-run and dog centric business who we will be sure to continue to use 👍🏻

Thank you so much for another fabulous groom on Friday. The family commented on how silky soft his coat was and he smelt fabulous. Teddy is so happy at OPW he goes off happily and comes home content and in need of a good long snooze. Having a bath/groom at OPW is a must, especially if the children/grandchildren are home for the weekend as Teddy looks and smells great. Roll on his Christmas groom . Couldn’t recommend highly enough! Jamie, Natalie and the team are amazing. I’ve been sending my dog Cooper to oxford pet whisperers for a year and a half now since he was a puppy and I wouldn’t dream of using any other daycare/dog walking service. They are experts in their field and take such good care of Cooper. He comes home tired out for the evening after a day at daycare and as soon as I turn the corner in to the car park to drop him off, he gets so excited! The pick up and play service is great too as it allows me to be a lot more flexible with work! The daily updates on Instagram are fantastic as it allows you to see what your dogs been getting up to in the day. Couldn’t give a more glowing review ⭐️

We’ve just had a 5 star stay at Portway Cattery Meowmy bought us new carpets so she booked us in for a holiday as they can be very noisy. We had a lovely time and spent some time talking to other guests from our patio. We had a beautiful luxury suite with lovely views. Concierge Chico (fluffy ginger) and Ronnie (ginger) were very hospitable and were very good at looking after us. Emily made sure that Tiggy got all her medication for her leg. We would strongly recommend them to any of our Furfriends and to check them out for their holiday needs. We also have it on good authority that they do beautiful fur dressing (our step sister Rosie goes there for her beauty needs). This was our cat's first time in a cattery and he couldn't have been in better hands. The communication from start to finish was excellent, and the team was super friendly and helpful and gave us updates whilst we were away. We'd definitely recommend them and will be using them again!

I have been using this cattery for 3 years now. I would not go anywhere else. My cats are happy there and can stay together. The groomer Carol is excellent. My cat, who had been silent and wanted to be alone, was in pain with tangles and is now so happy to hop up for a stroke and purrs!! Such lovely staff. Thank you.

I was greeted by the owners cat when I got out of the cat. He marked me and showed me to reception! 🐈 I’m so glad I found Portway Cattery on Google. They were incredible with George. He was groomed and was handled with love and care. His coat is now unmatted, clean and I was told George enjoyed his pamper! The work they do for Cherwell cats Protection charity is outstanding too. I requested a full groom for a cat I am currently fostering. Carol was absolutely brilliant! She came to collect the cat as I don't have a car, and was instantly great with the cat including showing me a fool proof way of getting her into the carrier! She returned with a very happy cat who looked (and smelled!) as though she'd just been to the spa! No signs of stress upon her return, she's as happy as every and looks fantastic. I was nervous as the cat is a foster cat and never had a groom before, but I needn't have been. Such a great service, I highly recommend.
I had a great experience with Portway Cattery when I took my long haired girl in for a de-mat this week. My partner and I tried everything at home to remove her mats with grooming tools, but with no success. I have no idea how she managed it, but Carol managed to get all the trickiest mats off and for a very reasonable price. I’ve already noticed a difference in my cat. She seems happier being petted now, and I am sure this is thanks to her being far more comfortable without those horrible mats. Highly recommend.
Absolutely brilliant service. Our long haired cat who doesn’t like most people had a few knots that we couldn’t get out due to her being shy. I called the cattery and they were more than helpful and happy to take a look at our cat and see what they could do. Millie (the cat) came back looking absolutely fabulous, not a single knot on her and she smelt absolutely gorgeous and they were so good with her considering she doesn’t like most people. This is something we would definitely do again and we cannot recommend this cattery highly enough.
Our beloved dog Olly had a great holiday with the hosts that Jeannie and Amanda matched for him, he came back so relaxed. We've already booked his next holiday. I would recommend this service to anyone and I'm so glad I found Barking Mad. Thank you Jeannie and Amanda, I know you went the extra mile when we forgot Olly's favourite raw hide chews and you picked up some on the way to his holiday, I noticed in the picture you sent me :-)
Jeannie is a lovely lady, she placed my beloved dogs with wonderful host's who looked after them as there own. I decided to become a host my self now and I love it in fact I fell in love with one particular dog and fingers crossed I will look after her again sometime this year. Barking Mad is everything you could want for your beloved dogs.
First time using Barking Mad and could not be happier with the service provided. Jeannie was extremely helpful, reassuring and punctual when collecting and dropping off our dog. We will definitely be using them again in the future.
