We cannot say enough about this sit. The apartment was wonderful, our hosts gave us great recommendations for exploring Florence, and Ginger was an absolute dream! The communication was great throughout, really setting us up for success. We had such great time and will thoroughly miss our walks and cuddles with Ginger!
This was an all-around great pet sit. I felt super comfortable in Beth's lovely home in the Oakland Hills. She supplied me with detailed information on taking care of Mara and her home and reached out regularly to make sure that everything was going smoothly. It definitely was! Mara is a dream pup to take care of. She is very self sufficient. She'll come up to you when she wants to be petted. She also loves to get a nice rub down, which I gave her while drying her with a towel after a few rainy outings. Mara also likes to show you "her hill" in the back of their home if you wander up to check on the mushrooms or jump on the trampoline she'll guide the way. She loves a few treats everyday and will do a few tricks for you. The neighborhood is great with good walks in every direction. I would love to return to Beth's home to take care of Mara again in the future.
Wow! What a sweet dog and wonderful home! I thoroughly enjoyed taking care of Ted, an affectionate, playful 1-year old Goldendoodle, during my stay at Donna and Steve’s beautiful home in Santa Barbara. Ted and I enjoyed walking around the townhome community, meeting friendly neighbors and dogs. We took longer daily walks to a beautiful bluff open space area overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and at nearby Haskells Beach. Steve and Donna were incredibly welcoming and kind. They provided detailed information about Ted’s routine and care of their home before the sit, and they were readily available to answer questions that came up during the sit. Their home is in a beautiful area of Santa Barbara. I enjoyed hanging with Ted in their comfortable home and fenced garden, and cooking in their well-stocked gourmet kitchen. I am grateful that this sit allowed me to visit my elderly parents at a nearby retirement community for a few hours each day, while enjoying Ted’s good company. I hope I have the opportunity to stay with Ted again - thank you Steve and Donna!
Vicky is adorable. She’s such a sweet and affectionate girl, and she loves to snuggle up on the couch with you. However, she does NOT like going for walks. Once you manage to get her off the couch and out the door, she quite happily trots to the elevator and out of the building to conduct her business in her usual spot. As soon as she’s finished though, she immediately heads for home, and it’s a real challenge trying to get her to go any further. Coaxing, tugging, and even a pocket full of chicken bits all had a low success rate. She’s a great dog, but she’s not going to accompany you on long strolls around Lillestrøm. If you’re patient and persistent, and can get her far enough away from home, she’ll walk for 15-20 minutes, but when she’s done - she’s done. She loves to play though, she’ll play tug all day, and she’ll show you her crazy happy dance at mealtimes. Andreia‘s apartment is spotlessly clean, comfortable, and easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the train station. The beautiful outdoor space was lovely on a nice afternoon. There are trains to & from Oslo every 20 minutes or so, and it’s only a 10-15 minute journey. Check the train schedules, as some trains makes several stops, and double the travel time. Andreia provided a detailed welcome guide for us, and spent a couple of hours with us when we arrived to make sure that we were familiar with the apartment and were comfortable with Vicky’s routine and walking route. She was very easy to communicate with while she was away, answering any texts within minutes.
Pablo and Casper were wonderful company for my stay with them. Sara and Mark left me with clear instructions and local contacts should I need any assistance. Pablo had tons of energy and was the sweetest boy ever. Lovely opportunity to pet sit in beautiful part of the world.
A cosy stone cottage with wonderful walks on the doorstep and panoramic views of Purbeck make this a perfect away-from-it-all housesit. Not to mention the delightful pets who welcome you to their home with wags and purrs (and a squeak!) of delight. The owners are so relaxed and friendly you feel at home straight away. Highly recommended to kind pet carers and housesitters who love their countryside on the wild side!
