This was a great housesit. I enjoyed looking after Lola and Max, the two dogs. I have a soft spot for older animals and these two were quite sweet. They will be your shadow and appreciate ear scratches and pats. Lola is a great communicator and told me when it was time to play ball or go outside. Max needs to go outside quite often in the evening and I learned his signals quickly. He took his medication well. Moo the cat hung out with me while I watched TV or read my book and was always nearby. Suzanne was very warm and welcoming - she gave me a little tour of the neighbourhood in her car and had the fridge fully stocked for my visit. Communication was prompt and clear, and the house was cozy and comfortable! If you get a chance to housesit for Suzanne, you’re in for a treat!
This was a really peaceful sit at Amanda & Rory’s comfortable home, surrounded by beautiful fields and valleys with the handsome Kona. We had a couple of relaxed video calls with Amanda prior to the sit and received a useful guide to Kona’s care before we arrived. The arrival directions were easy to follow, and once we’d met Kona it was an easy handover over a coffee. You couldn’t wish for a more easy-going dog than Kona! He’s always up for a walk, happily walking miles along the local lanes and cross-country. With so many lambs around and birds nesting, he was on the lead for much of the time but walked well to heel, just needing the occasional reminder. He travelled well in the car as this is a great base to explore Exmoor from and Amanda & Rory left plenty of maps and suggested routes. On a really wet day he was happy with a shorter walk and a run around the garden between snoozes by the Aga! He’s very undemanding but loves affection too, sitting by our feet in the evenings. Thanks for a lovely few days (despite the weather!) we’d definitely recommend this sit and would happily return.
