What a pleasure it was to keep Kahlo company in this beautiful, immaculate home in a great little community! Kahlo was a dream, well-behaved and so easy to care for (hard to believe that he has a bladder the size of Arizona but true!). We enjoyed each other's company very much. And that view! The gated neighborhood was just turning all shades of fall with red and gold on the trees when I visited. Nancy had an entire notebook full of information about the town and environs - she thought of everything and was very clear and timely with all communications. I hope to go back soon!
Karen and Andrew warmly welcomed me into their lovely home. Their home is situated away from the road and is surrounded by lovely walks. A lovely stream with seating nearby is a lovely spot to take in the views. Their home retains some original features and is modernised. It is very clean and comfortable . Hector is a lovely big dog. He is really good on his walks and does heed commands. I miss Hector already. I would strongly recommend this sit and I hope I have the opportunity to return to sit Hector again. Emma and Chris are a lovely couple who welcomed us into their home. Even though this was their first time using Trusted House Sitters they had provided a comprehensive information pack which included a detailed and photographic guide of a long walk on the footpaths from their home. We also found the wooded common just south of the property and that was absolutely beautiful to walk the dogs through with lovely views over the south downs. The house is a lovely ancient cottage which has been extended over the centuries so it is full of charm, wonky walls, ceilings and floor levels. Twiglet the Border Terrier is a lovely well behaved dog who absolutely loves a tickle on the tummy and Olive the old Black Lab is an old lady fusspot who keeps coming back for a tickle on her head. Cecil the cat is friendly and enjoys a fuss but spends most of his time out in the garden. The 4 chickens are easy to look after and will follow you too and from their coup and spend their daytime free ranging in the garden. All in all a most enjoyable sit and we would look forward to doing it again when we are available.
It was a real pleasure to meet such people like Matt and Jenny. They were very nice and thoughtful about everything, they made little notes on the stickers everywhere in the apartment so we could easily find everything. Honestly I had a feeling like it's my family which was just away for a few days. Millie and Bubba are adorable pets, and easy to take care of. I fell in love with both of them. The place itself reminded me of a place I lived in when I was a child with my grandmother, so I had an unexpected flashback with a lot of warm feelings.
Hank and Ned are sweethearts. Ned is like your instant best friend who wants to hang out and play. Hank may take a little time to feel you out but once he's decided to love you, he's in deep. They both like vigorous play sometimes and keeping watch over the backyard but never get aggressive or misbehave. In fact, they are very well-behaved, protective, and sweet. The hosts are responsive, kind and have a lovely home that is conveniently located to get to great restaurants and hangouts within a short drive. Josette likes frequent updates and lots of pictures. I found their home to be quiet, safe, and very comfortable. Missing both dogs already as they're unforgettable!
