Excellent home and host and very sweet rescue dog, Soma! Thanks for having me, Erica.
Leo was very playful and energetic. He loves pets and treats and just being around people. The neighbours all know him and he goes to say hi to them, which I found very endearing. The house is beautiful with the most amazing garden in Oxford.
I had the most incredible time at Jo's gorgeous French home. I was lucky enough to stay with her for a few days before she left on her trip and we really connected. She is a kind, generous and inspiring woman with lots of wisdom and experience. Her house is well-designed and organised with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The terrace at the back has beautiful views of the natural park and is a the perfect place to eat and read a good book. I also made good use of the yoga studio at the top of the house - my own special place to practice. The village has a real community feel - helpful and friendly neighbours - and there are regular events as well as a local weekly market - well worth a visit to stock up on seasonal fruit and veg. I didn't have a car but managed very well with the local shops (small supermarket and local cooperative shop) and hitched a few times in Nyons. I would recommend Nyons for a day out and also a visit to their large weekly market. The setting is breathtaking with lots of walks and a nearby river for swimming and picnics. You get around easily on the local paths by bike. Ola is a delightful little cat. She is out and about quite a lot but does like to come in for a cuddle and some company. Like most outdoor cats she does hunt, so I did end up rescuing a few creatures! All in all I had a wonderful experience and hope to return!
Another super housesit. I met Claire and Phil the day before they left for their holiday and after a thorough handover enjoyed a pizza with them and their son. They’re a lovely family. I was very happy in their comfortable house and really enjoyed the opportunity of looking after alpacas again. I’d previously experienced them at a housesit in NZ but there were 23 then, here there were just 7 which enabled me to remember their names and get to know their characters a bit. One of them particularly captured my heart but I shouldn’t have favourites! Cuddy and Ron, the two cats, were a delight and very easy going. Neither are particularly lap cats but they’re affectionate, Ron being rather shy. While there I enjoyed a coastal walk from Herne Bay to Whitstable, a look around Canterbury and a trip to Broadstairs, which is a place close to my heart. So many other places to visit but I was happy staying in as well. If you get the opportunity to housesit here go for it! Thanks again Claire and Phil.
Our house-sit experience for Pamela and her family was an absolute joy! Pamela went out of her way to help us feel welcome and comfortable, she was very accommodating for our large family. Communication was excellent and she was eager to help in any way possible. We loved caring for the two adorable cats - Max and Cindy, as well as the bearded dragon - Scratch. They were easy to care for and we were so pleased that they seemed to enjoy our company, with lots of snuggles and keeping our feet warm at night. Pamela's house is beautiful and comfortable, we felt so grateful to spend our Christmas holidays in her lovely home. It was very close to DC for some fun outings in the city. We had the best possible experience and we thoroughly recommend a house sit for Pamela. We very much hope to return one day!
Absolutely wonderful sit! Can’t recommend it enough. We’ve sat for a number of different dogs and Juno is the best! She is sweet, great company, extremely easy and loves her walks & play in the garden. The house and grounds are ‘to die for’ and on top of that, an extremely comfortable bed in the spacious en suite guest room! You’ll be contented just staying at Lucy & Al’s house and taking Juno for walks to Windsor Great Park, however, if you want to venture out, Windsor has much to offer. Last but not least, Lucy is fantastic at communicating, has a comprehensive file of information and the entire family are very welcoming. I could go on and on but will end by rating this sit a 10! Paul & I will be happy to go back.
