Lucinda & Robin welcomed us warmly into their beautiful home. On this occasion we only had the Guinea fowl and their keets to look after but did get to walk Mikka and her best friend Kitty. Mikka is a gorgeous Norwich Terrier who loves lots of attention and is very well behaved. She walks perfectly on and off lead and we had great fun exploring with her and Kitty. Crieff and its surrounding areas are beautiful and if you love the outdoors you are spoilt for choice on walks to take Mikka on. There are beautiful walks directly from the home too. Meeting Lucindas parents just added to our fantastic time here. We wouldn't hesitate in not only recommending this sit but would also love to return!
Ricky isn't just any ordinary feline; he's the king of the castle. His gentle nature and affectionate demeanor never fail to brighten the days. Whether it's curling up on a cozy couch or playfully chasing after a feather toy, Ricky has an uncanny ability to make everyone feel loved and cherished. But it's not just Ricky who makes the home a haven of happiness. The house is a sanctuary in its own right. Nestled in a peaceful neighborhood, it's the epitome of comfort and coziness. Every corner exudes a welcoming atmosphere. Anne was so nice and welcoming and has an awesome welcome guide with everything you need. Would definitely love to sit for her again.
We spent one week in Clontarf with 2 labs, Abbey & Dudley. Tim & Leslie left their 3rd/ youngest lab with friends, so we only had 2 for the week. This was their decision and they let us know they made those arrangements before we arrived. Tim & Leslie were nice enough to meet us at the airport to drive us to the house. They met us right at the gate when you got off the plane which was a surprise. We had a couple of hours to go over everything with Abbey & Dudley, which was helpful. They had their food regimen written out clearly on the tub of food - we loved that. They were extremely nice to leave their car for our use too. Abbey & Dudley are very sweet dogs and Abbey is probably the easiest dog to walk on lead. She does an awesome job. Dudley will pull and try to dart away if he sees a cat or another dog behind a fence so you just need to be more careful with him. If you agree to sit for Abbey & Dudley (& maybe Jorja), make sure you are a deep sleeper or have high grade earplugs/ noice cancelling headphones. Dudley has one of the loudest barks we have ever heard. Anna grew up with labs and we both have vast experience with all types of dogs. Dudley was an exceptionally loud barker and barks at everything all throughout the night. It is very consistent during the middle of the night and happened every night. We value our sleep and tried everything but were unable to get a good nights rest while on this sit. This is something you should consider before caring for Dudley. As Abbey is getting older, she also wipes her backside on the ground constantly, leaving streaks of feces across the carpet and tiled floor. The home is older but appliances all worked well. It was not in the cleanest condition when we arrived. The sheets to the bed did not seem very clean as they were completely covered in dog hair, including the pillows. We are very used to dog hair, just at minimum prefer to have our pillows clean. Plus we were not made aware that the dogs were expected to sleep with us before we arrived or that Dudley was a barker. The home is about an hour north of Brisbane and an hour south of Sunshine coast beaches. The only thing within walking distance was the dog park, which was nice. Really great that TIm & Leslie give you access to a car since most things are a drive away. We were super grateful for that. Before the sit, Tim & Leslie, were communicative. However, we asked them several times to send us their flight info and they never did. They also did not mention they would have limited service during their holiday, so we did not hear from them for more than halfway through the sit after sending various questions and photos. As full time pet/ house sitters, we find it very important to be honest/ clear about reviews and how the sit went. We hope this was helpful feedback and info for other sitters. Overall, this was a fine sit and we were grateful for our time in Clontarf.
