Hannah was top notch! Where do I begin? I’ll begin with the fact that she jumped into caregiver mode when our cat swallowed a huge piece of grass and had to go to pet emergency for surgery. 😮‍💨 Hannah was amazing! So caring and responsive. She called the veterinarian and ultimately the pet hospital, consulting and keeping us in the loop the whole time! She ended up spending a good 24 hours dealing with this emergency and kitty was ok. After this we consulted on ways to prevent this from happening again and decided to try to keep him inside. Hannah showed a tremendous amount of patience as she put up with him howling to go out continuously. She made efforts to ease this transition by buying fancy toys to try to distract and keep him entertained. In the end we decided to let him out for short periods of time to satisfy his need for exploration and exercise. Hannah never did anything w/o communicating with us and she was kind and patient throughout! She developed a close bond with our cat, and after this unfortunate crisis, things settled down and she was able to enjoy nightly cuddles with the cat. In addition, Hannah cared for all of our outdoor and indoor plants, took in mail, took out garbage and even mailed a few things for us! I highly recommend Hannah for any future house/pet sitting! She is responsible, easy going, flexible and trustworthy!!

Scarlett and Niels went above and beyond to make this a wonderful petsitting adventure. From picking me up at the airport with my very first name sign to leaving me groceries, taking me on a walk to show me the ropes at the grocery and tram, to letting the dog park friends know I was coming and to say hello and hang out with me- I was set up for super success. The apartment is lovely and the view from the balcony is breathtaking. It's an incredibly convenient location to walk around and grab several free trams into downtown where magical Melbourne awaits. They gave me lots of suggestions and answered questions to help make sure I got the most out of my time in the city.
Toby is the SWEETEST puppy. He's clearly beloved by not only his family but the entire neighborhood. I felt like I was out exploring with the mayor of Melbourne, everyone was delighted to see and play with him. He has a really simple routine, is great around other animals, and pretty good on lead. He's very playful, a little stubborn, and super snuggly. We had plenty of fantastic cuddles on the couch, and he was excellent company while I worked from home.
I would give this housesit 10 thumbs up if I could, and would absolutely do it again and recommend it. This is a lovely, wonderful family, and they make you feel a part of it while you're there.
Thanks again S/N/T- I'm ever grateful for the opportunity and friendship.
Cheers,
Lyssa

We had a great sit at Josh and Susie's home. Due to the ongoing Covid timeline, we agreed to virtual handoffs for both pre and post sit. To facilitate this, a electronic guide was provided to us, and then we did a virtual walkthrough, which covered the house, outside grounds and the pets. It ended up being a quite efficient information transfer process, and resulted in a very self sufficient sit for us.

Though we didn't get to meet in person, Josh and Susie are warm hearted folks, who love their pets. The pets are quite a menagerie, which includes one dog and three cats. Though some meds are involved, the administration is quite simple. Piper (the dog) is super sweet, and will always stay nearby. She is also excellent on the leash and enjoys her walks thru the woods, which have clearly identifiable trails. The cats include two young ones, who are a laugh per minute, yet calm during the night. And then there is the elderly cat, Caesar, who enjoys his own space, but will join his peers from time to time. The cats were great at using their litter boxes. With 4 pets, we had minimal extra cleanup due to them.

The house and porch are quite comfortable, and the hot tub was an added bonus.

The setting was great for us too, as we love the outdoors. The house is a ten minute walk to Umstead Park, which offers the best trails and woods in the Triangle area.

A big thanks to Josh and Susie for the sit opportunity.

This is a sit that we would love to repeat, and also recommend to others.

Melissa
this sit experienced was mixed, but turned out to be good for us because we had the skills and time to engage in the trust-building that the dog Lilly needed.

i wish we’d have known to arrive earlier to go on some walks together and practice entering the house. for the first couple days, Lilly barked at us every time she saw us, not letting us approach her. we were constantly throwing treats so we could navigate around the house. once Lilly had the time to get to know us, she showed her true affectionate, kind, sensitive, and playful self. she really is a sweet and loving dog. she does tend to bark throughout the night. it was an honor to earn her trust, though overwhelming and difficult the way we were thrown into it.

my mother came later on in the stay, and we had her and Lilly meet while on a walk in the neighborhood, with lots of treats and consideration to Lilly’s sensitivity. this worked well and Lilly only barked at her in the house a couple times, eased by treats and reassurance from me. Lilly has a special place in my, my partner, and my mom’s heart- she is a special soul.

the cat Shadow was a sweet and funny friend, we enjoyed him very much and he is good at coming in at night. the chickens and indoor plants were easy to take care of.

the house was beautiful and location excellent- we could walk to Santa Fe River and Canyon Road, though a long walk. we felt totally safe in the neighborhood and enjoyed the beautiful views from the deck. it was nice to be able to stay in the guest area on the bottom level with its separate entrance. i wouldn’t recommend this sit for people who know cleanliness is very important to them. we appreciated Melissa’s kindness, hospitality, humor, and accommodations for our multiple people and pet traveling with us. Santa Fe is a lovely place to be !

Bella was a dream and I miss her already. Margaret and Wes were so hospital and their home was zen. Bella’s great love for biscuits is a driving force and she made me smile. Thank you!

Katya
Katya was lovely to communicate with from the start and was always happy to help if we had any questions.

The house was situated on a quiet street which was only a short 10 minute walk from the centre and train station, where you could get to places such as Buxton (train) and Glossop (bus) in less than half an hour. New Mills had beautiful scenic walks following the river which was a delight to walk Happy.

Happy was an absolute delight to look after! He only took around 5 minutes to warm up to us and then never left our side for the rest of the sit. He loved cuddles and affection and just wanted to be near us. He slept at the end of our bed and was no bother at all throughout the night. He walked well on the lead and loved exploring. We miss him already and hope to see him again in the future.
