We had a great time walking this feisty threesome in the fields nearby their home. The homeowners were a delight to get to know and we really enjoyed spending time with them. The home is spacious, warm and offers a beautiful view of the surrounding area below. We have stayed in touch with the homeowners ever since the sit and have already been invited back. A great experience and we would not hesitate to go back.
Wow what an experience! We feel very fortunate to have been offered this opportunity. Paul was an amazing host. He was very thoughtful and generous. He picked us up from Malaga and also dropped us off afterwards ready for our flight home which was much appreciated. Paul gave us a comprehensive tour of the house and area which helped to settle us in. He also had full written instructions that we could refer to when needed which was so helpful. There is only one Roman Oasis! It is a very special place indeed. It is built in a very different style from your typical Spanish villa. It has got all the modern comforts you need and more. We spent a very comfortable 5 weeks here. No Roman Oasis could be complete without it's pet family. They were all characters in their own right. Obi is the most adorable, affectionate and gentle cat we have ever known. He loved a cuddle on the sofa in the evenings and was super easy to look after. We've never had experience of looking after big birds before so George and Maverick taught us a lot. They were excellent teachers and we soon got the hang of handling them. They were quick to let us know when they weren't getting enough attention which was hard to ignore. We spent a lot of time with George and Maverick and it was great to have them around. They are such intelligent birds and we had great conversations with them. Kevin came in twice a week and gave us lots of handling tips which also helped us greatly. Silas is highly intelligent and obedient. It didn't take long for him to accept us into his territory. In fact a few throws of his frisbee was enough to win him over. He loved his daily walks and behaved well off the lead. Last but not least the lovable gentle giant, Thor. What can you say, he might not be as quick and obedient unless it's food related but how could you not love him. He loved a good pamper session and time to chill. We're already missing them all and loved our time at the Roman Oasis. Thanks Paul and Kaat for looking after us so well and we look forward to returning next year.
I spent three really very pleasant. First, I got a very warm welcome from Rebecca. The house is clean, very well equipped and the area is quiet but also close to amenities. But above all, I had the chance to take care of Bailey, a nice big dog, so affectionate, easy to live with, easy to love. Thanks to Rebecca for the opportunity she gave me to spend three weeks with the extraordinary Bailey.
We had a wonderful sit at Hannah’s place in beautiful Chamomix. Mango & Chutney are such individual characters and full of life, theyre adorable! Mango is quick to love and is no stranger for affection! Chutney too loves attention once she’s warmed to you, when Mango’s not there trying to get every last scratch and stroke, she’s more happy to hamg around for love. The cats get on really well and were no trouble in the house or at night. Sometimes they require bribery with treats to get them inside, especially if they’re enjoying the sunshine. Hannah’s home is cosy and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. It’s right next to the bus stop for Chamonix and the valley, with free parking nect door if you’re driving. Communication with Hannah was always quick and friendly, we feel grateful that we got to spend time with her as well as the beautiful cats!
Fantastic - on all accounts. These two dogs are the reason people become pet owners. The 'parents' of the dogs are the reason these dogs are so fun to walk, cuddle, and play with. The neighborhood is filled with charm and a creative flair that makes the walks a bit of a garden and architectural journey. Both inside their home and the streets surrounding their home hold simple beauty with comfort and efficiency.
Noreen and Dave have a gorgeous log cabin home in the woods. We arranged to arrive the day prior to the start of our sit and the homeowners’ made us feel most welcomed. They were gracious, easy to communicate with and provided us with detailed written instructions for Monty’s care, information about their home, and local area/attractions. Mellow is the word I would use to describe Monty the cat and multiple brushings each day made us fast friends. Monty made appearances more and more as the days passed and eventually he was strolling outside along side of us for a morning walk. We found out that Monty is still fast on his feet as we watched him dart up the front garden rock wall to get at the catmint! We brought our mountain and gravel bikes and found several nearby trails perfect for riding. Additionally we hiked, took The Cog to the top of Mt. Washington, and day tripped to Portland ME. (Gravel/MTB riders or hikers can head out directly from the homeowner’s house for a challenging loop on Black Brook Rd trails, XC trails to Ossipee lake and also Mary’s MTN trout pond.) We had a very enjoyable sit experience and we encourage interested cat loving sitters to apply! ❤️ Monty
