Julia
Julia and Ben are a very pleasant, travel-experienced and warmhearted couple with two adorable and well-mannered cats. Even though we only had a few days to get to know and spend time with them we enjoyed every moment from the beginning.

Thanks to the fun crash course at our first meet-and-greet a few days in advance, the well-elaborated cat-care instruction manual as well as the communicative nature of Stürmchen and Wölkchen we could enjoy a very relaxed and worry-free time with lots of funny cat-moments that put a smile in our face.

The super modern apartment as well as the surrounding area are also very nice (the panorama view over Seoul gave us goosebumps!) with an absolutely convenient public traffic connection.

We are very thankful for the hospitality and the trust Ben and Julia as well as Stürmchen and Wölkchen so generously granted us. Even after only five days it was kind of emotionally difficult for us to bid the cats farewell. We are looking forward to meeting them again someday

Dayna
My partner and I absolutely loved our housesit for Dayna and Dan. They are really kind and interesting people and we appreciated a very welcoming and easy correspondence with them both before and during our stay.
Their critters all won us over very quickly. We were fairly new to looking after birds but Daphne and Seymour are fascinating, beautiful birds with lovely natures. Daphne did play up a little in the early days when in her cage, adjusting to our presence, so the the guidance from Dayna/Dan re 'time outs' when needed etc. was definitely helpful. She is certainly a 'love bug,' as described by Dayna, and just wants to hang out with people - we were very charmed by her cute ways when interacting with her. We fell into an easy routine and were able to spend a good amount of time with her out the cage throughout the day, which I would recommend future sitters be comfortable with.
Seymour is also so charming and seemed to enjoy our company and attention too, albeit while holding a more reserved demeanor. We especially loved catching him in his chatty moods and talking to him (he has quite the impressive vocabulary!)
Tumbles is so sweet - she does like to maintain some cat-like independence, especially during the day, but she definitely loves some attention too and curling up beside humans. We loved taking care of her.
Care for all of the animals was really well explained to us by Dayna and Dan so we were very comfortable with food prep/medication/cleaning etc. and everything was well provided for. The housesitting manual is extremely helpful and detailed with respect to all of the animals and their care, and regarding the house too. So, thanks to the clear instruction received both in person and from the manual, we felt really well prepared and comfortable with of all routines. Ongoing communication was also quick and easy.
Their house is gorgeous and a pleasure to stay in in terms of both its location and the beautiful, art-filled interiors themselves. We would very happily sit for them anytime and highly recommend it to anyone considering!

Catherine
Castle Cary Housesit January 2023
Cato the young Ladrador dog at our housesit in Castle Cary, Somerset is definitely our favourite dog ever. Well behaved, gentle, soft and friendly, with bags of energy. Clearly a lady’s dog; my husband threw the ball for him over and over, and each time Cato bounded back and dropped it at my feet not his.
The twelve hens were very easy to look after, and even though it was January the daily egg count averaged 9 ! Fresh eggs. What a treat.
The house is a beautiful old farmhouse, which Catherine and Nick are busy renovating. It’s a quality update, with some work still to be carried out. Covid has no doubt delayed the work but this didn’t spoil our stay, as the house was warm and bright. Outside is a large garden, off road, gated car parking, a overgrown tennis court and a vegetable patch, which the hens have full access to. The garden boundary is fenced in with chicken wire. Catherine sells any surplus eggs at the drive gate, so one of the jobs was to collect eggs, wash them, and see that the outside box was kept up to date.
A big plus factor for us was that living in Exeter, we would like to visit more of Somerset, Dorset, Cornwall and parts of Devon to see places that we haven’t yet discovered. This house sit was ideal in that we were able to visit the very local (4 miles) Haynes Motor Museum, (well recommended, we visited twice) and Stourhead, National Trust parkland and property, 15 miles away, plus Castle Cary village/town itself, where we ate in 2 of the pubs, The Bay Tree and The George. Bay Tree - Good, George - Very good. We also ate in the restaurant at Stourhead, which was expensive with very small portions.
Another plus was that my cousin and her husband who live at Yeovil were able to drive over one evening for a 3 year catch up visit. Catherine was very welcoming and happily agreed that we might do this.
There are several good walks from the house for giving Cato exercise. Nick had very kindly sketched out the routes for us to take and local O.S. Explorer Leisure maps were at the ready. The walk that starts close to their home goes up onto the escarpment and trig point behind the house, where one can see Glastonbury Tor in the distance some 10 miles away. As a reward for the climb, there is a good free telescope for viewing the distant scenery
I’m only sorry that we didn’t have more time to be with Catherine and Nick. They had a flight to catch when we arrived, and we needed to get home in the dark when they returned.
We had good communications prior to the booking. I got our dates slightly muddled for a while, but it was easily sorted by us staying a night longer. Catherine was extremely grateful to us for house sitting and we were very glad that the family enjoyed their visit to the Canadian ski slopes.

Laura
Laura was great at communicating and lovely to make sure everything was ok for us. Laura's home was lovely and comfortable. Oreo and Cookie were really sweet and loved to sit with us for cuddles.
They were easy to take on walks, just keeping them on the lead. We'd be happy to sit for Oreo and Cookie again.

Angela
The housesit for Angela and her sweet cats was simply magical! Angela is a beautiful soul, and I really enjoyed getting to know her when we met briefly before and after the sit. The six cats are incredibly sweet with delightfully distinct personalities, and it was very smooth and simple to take care of them all. Angela explains everything very well, and the vet is very close if needed. The apartment is spacious and lovely, with two terraces! It's really easy to get into the town center, and from El Vendrell to Tarragona, Barcelona, and all the lovely beaches. But honestly, El Vendrell is such a lovely town, I hardly wanted to leave! I would go back in a heartbeat. This is a wonderful housesitting opportunity.
